This was my first time visiting this urgent care but I'm so glad I was sent there from the Picayune Urgent Care because I'm not sure if the lady that helped me was the actual nurse or doctor but whoever she was she was like me meeting a living Angel here on earth. She was extremely concerned about my symptoms and gave me the best care I have honestly gotten at any hospital or urgent care period! If we had more people like her our world would be Awesome with lots of friendly mess, bedside manners and even care/ love! I only wish she was a PCP because she is definitely would love for her to see me regularly because if there was anything wrong with me I know she would do various test and get to the bottom of my problem! She has to be a Beautiful family member! I know it probably sounds like I know her and just am giving her a good review but I promise today was the first time I ever seen the lady and I'm Truly Glad that the Picayune Urgent Care could not take my insurance so they advised me to go there to the Slidell one because it was A Blessing To Me To Have Her Taking Care Of Me! I don't remember her name but if y'all can find out who she was and let her read this I would Greatly Appreciate It! Thanks Again To The Beautiful Living Angel Who Took Care Of Me At The Slidell Urgent Care On Airport Rd. May God Forever Bless Her And Keep Her Safe!!!!!

My 15 month old’s symptoms worsened the night after seeing her pediatrician, who was then booked for the remainder of the week. I initially took her to the urgent care I’ve used in the past, but they don’t see children under 2 years, so I came here to get her checked out. I wasn’t very optimistic after quickly reading the reviews, but have been pleased with my overall experience. Check in and wait time was only about 10-15 minutes total, including the time it took to fill out new patient paperwork. The doctor saw us immediately after vitals were taken, and was kind, informative, and actually listened to me as a mom as I described my child’s symptoms. Instead of guesstimating a diagnosis, or brushing it off as a virus “that’ll run its course” he sent off for labs to ensure a proper diagnosis. Overall, I’m very happy with their services, and would recommend to anyone who needs an urgent care in a pinch and appreciates more of a peer to peer interaction as opposed to being just another number.

Jessica n all the amazing staff were so helpful n concerned. They demonstrated so much empathy n sympathy for my overall welfare. There was no long wait. They assisted me at every turn. They greeted me with such compassion and even my family, my husband n brother out in the waiting area. They followed up with calls, checking on me. I had never experienced that type of love n care from health professionals before, at least not like that. Thank you so very much Patient Plus Urgent Care.. Because I followed your professional advice and went immediately to ER, I was able to get a plethora of major tests done, ruling out a multiplicity of diagnosis that I wasn’t ready to hear nor deal with. From there, the next day, I went in to see my primary care physician. He prescribed the right medications. I am now on the mend, thanks to you all getting the ball rolling. Always a grateful heart, Mrs. Brown (Marion)

SLIDELL LOCATION I have been taking my kids here for a few years now when their pediatrician isn’t available. I love that you can book online and track your wait time through the app. The doctors and staff are really great. My son is a lively child and they are always patient and caring with us. I know I always leave feeling like it was a personal experience and that they listened to what we were saying as people not just the next on the list. Last year the doctor recommended we take and admit my son into the ER which we did immediately after leaving and the staff at Rapid Urgent Care called us the next day just to check on him. That is quality care! I should’ve reviewed them sooner but I give them a solid 5 stars because I have never even come close to a bad experience, today’s appointment included. Thanks so much to all the staff there!!

The receptionist didn't seem to know how to pull up patients' insurance without having a card present. I ask her if she can pull insurance with my SSN she told me she's unable to pull up information without id #. I tried to pull up information from my email but was unable to locate information so I told her I will find another clinic that would be able to see me. I then asked her again & she said she will try. So she was able to pull it up with SSN I was able to be seen after me about to go to another office. It's the little things you can do to make your patients feel their service is wanted. There was plenty of urgent care clinic I drove past to come there for her not to try to assist me in being seen. The NP and other staff was nice.

I was traveling through & had been in excruciating wrist pain for 2 days and decided when I arrived in Baton Rouge, I needed to find an Urgent Care. I’ll admit, I hate Hospitals and ESPECIALLY the waiting period, but this Urgent Care, was TOTALLY EXCEPTIONAL. The front desk Admin was so inviting, the lobby and rooms were exceptionally clean and arranged 6 feet for our Safety. Jesse is the BEST, tho I was in pain, our combined humor & her sincereness meant a lot. I can’t remember the Doctor’s name, but she was Great too & patient since I typically use homeopathic herbals vs. medicines. Not sure if they’re see this review, but Thank you ALL for such a welcoming and Great experience ESPECIALLY since I was not from the area. Please continue to Be Who Are and Maintain a Great Workplace Environment.

In a lot of pain due to a really bad ear infection, possibly malignant otitis externa - face swollen jaw and ear area on the right side. I am a registered nurse, 30 years I had a Telehealth visit yesterday with my PCP. My only reason for going to urgent care is that I was in such pain last night, I couldn’t sleep. I wanted someone to make sure my ear drum wasn’t ruptured and needed numbing drops for the pain. The provider wasn’t able to see in my ear and couldn’t find benzocaine or lidocaine drops in their formulary. She was kind and she did change the antibiotic, hopefully to a first line drug. An antibiotic IM or IV probably would have been a good idea. I didn’t think of it until getting home. Too miserable to go back.

Every time I come to this urgent care I get such Awesome care ! The doctors that I have encountered there is so Nice and actually take time to tell me what’s going on with my body. Doctors are usually so rushed! The 2 different doctors that I have seen here are so Nice and Knowledgeable. The nurses are so nice also . They said that it was going to be a 20 minute wait time and I went to my car to wait . Well 5 minutes later she called me and said I could come in . I have recommended this urgent care to all of my clients. I will continue to be a cheerleader for your establishment. Thank you, Ann Curro BTW I live on the Southshore and come across the lake to come there .

Our family is somewhat new in this area. We have tried several clinics in the area over the last two years. I was recommended by word of mouth to use Rapid Urgent Care. This was our 5th time to receive care At the clinic. Staff is always fast, proficient, and friendly. Clinic is always appears and smells freshly cleaned. Today specifically was a telemed appointment. Wow!!! I missed her name, but the lady that runs telemed is fantastic. The process could not have been easier. Literally from the moment the front desk picked up, until the entire visit was complete lasted only 5 minutes. We have never had a wait period before being placed in a room to be seen. Rapid care is turning out to be our #1 favorite choice clinic.

Absolutely great! The staff is professional and kind. FNP-C Niesha Taylor was very pleasant and listened to what issues I was concerned with. She has a great bedside manner. She is very confident and reassuring and that makes a person feel better immediately. Her nurse was kind and very professional. Its was a great experience and I will most definitely recommend this Patient Urgent Care Clinic on Old Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge La. This was my second visit to this facility and its run very well. Another plus is that the facility is very clean. Overall on a scale with 10 being the best... This place is an 11 !! Respectfully, Sincerely, -Chad Simmons (patient) on 12/19/*** ** if you have any questions I can be reached at ***

It was New Year’s Eve and they were busy but I called ahead of time because if that. I told them of what I was taking abs would it interfere with the urine test I’d have to take snd they said no problem. When I got there waited for over an hour paid my deductible did the test then the doctor came in and told me at that time they couldn’t do the test. I voiced my concerns but he said he would prescribe an antibiotic to take. I was very thankful for that. I don’t usually use an urgent care clinic because I try to always use my PCP but he was off and I’m glad urgent care facilities are always an option.

I was really sick and they got me in and out with in about an hour. That’s almost unheard of at a urgent care. The staff were so kind and caring. They made me feel important. Dr. Luther was amazing! He assured me he was giving me all the medicine that was going to cure my upper respiratory infection and very bad cough. Leaving my visit I was confident that I was going to be feeling better the next day, and I was!!! I will now always go straight to Rapid Urgent Care when I get sick. Thanks for making me feel important when I was feeling like I was dying. :)

My daughter came in with eye pain and Ms. Karen was awesome!!! She was so nice to her and took her time making sure she was comfortable the entire time she was working on her eye. Only reason I gave 3 stars on the wait time is because the poor front desk associate was alone and they were short staffed. I have never waited more than 5 minutes any time I have visited so this very unusual. It was explained to me that there was a wait time that was unexpected and the staff apologized. This is and will always be my first choice in urgent cares to visit.

- Verified patient on 11/7

I always choose this Urgent Care over all the others because the service is unmatched. Even though the wait was a bit long today, staff made sure they informed me of how long it would be prior to me signing in. I filled out paperwork in my vehicle and received a text letting me know it was my my turn to be seen. That was much better than having to sit in a waiting room with other sick patients during a pandemic. Dr. St. James was very personable, quick and efficient. I definitely feel that I received excellent care and that my needs/concerns were met.

This place is seriously our new go to! So quick and easy, especially with children! The staff is always amazing and so friendly! Sometimes matters aren’t so serious but you still need advice, diagnosis, meds or an excuse and this makes it so much easier to do in those times! The staff makes you feel heard, care for and makes sure your needs are met and triple checks that your covered before ending the appointment. I would 10/10 recommend Patient Plus Urgent Care for top notch care, service, and friendliness! And Solv makes everything that much easier!

- Verified patient on 11/1

The wait time was a little long for not being too busy (it didn’t look that busy to me from the waiting room), but the wait is expected. Lots of sick babies right now with this nasty weather change. It was just the same amount I’ve waited at the pediatrician or other urgent cares before. The lady at the front desk kept apologizing and was the sweetest. I’ll definitely be back if need be and I definitely recommend this place to others. The NP was also as sweet as can be. The entire staff seemed lovely.

My 5 year old went in for a suspected broken finger. They could not have been nicer! The nurse taking the x-ray could tell that he was scared & help to comfort him, & she let him see his x-ray, which he thought was really cool! Dr McElroy took extra time to be sure he felt comfortable before doing a procedure with a needle to check his nail bed for infection. Overall, it was a great experience for something that could have been very scary for a 5 year old. Thank you Rapid Urgent Care!

My experience at this particular urgent care was phenomenal. The moment I walked through the doors I was greeted immediately and with a smiling face. First impression is everything and the receptionist was absolutely amazing. From the receptionist, to the nurses, to Dr. Patel, I had the best care. I was only there for testing but the staff makes you feel like you’re important and that your not just a number. Best staff every! Everyone was so friendly and helping. The place was nice and clean. I will HIGHLY recommend Rapid Urgent Care. Mandeville.

This staff took such good care of me. I scheduled an appointment ahead of time, and there was a mix up on the schedule and it was lost. There was a 3 1/2 hour wait and I asked the staff if I could be seen earlier since I had Covid symptoms and it was the systems mess up. I waited about 45 minutes and they got me in! Great bedside manner! I ended up thankfully having a respiratory infection not Covid. This is my urgent care of choice and I always recommend them.

- Verified patient on 7/30

I’ve been there 2 times and I would come back again. Everyone is very friendly and care about you no matter what you’re there for. The doctors always explains everything to you. And wait time is very fast. I haven’t waited longer than 15 minutes to be seen. I went to a urgent care closer to my house but won’t go back there because you will spend hours there and when you’re not feeling well you don’t want to wait hours. Definitely will come back to Rapid Urgent Care again

Urgent Care in Louisiana

With a higher than average poverty level and a large number of people without health insurance, Louisiana has a healthcare crisis. In addition to these problems, about 26% of adults ages 25-49 are smokers. There are also a large number of overweight or obese people in the state's population.

Urgent Care in Louisiana

Many illnesses and injuries that require medical treatment can be treated at urgent care facilities. There are 14 urgent care facilities in Louisiana. These centers allow patients to get the treatment they need, without the extra cost of going to an emergency room. Velocity Care, Calcasieu Urgent Care, Louisiana Urgent Care, and Willing Knighton Urgent care are some of the leaders in the state.

Walk-in Clinics in Louisiana

In addition to urgent care centers, there are a growing number of walk-in clinics in the state. While these clinics are not able to treat as many problems as the urgent care centers, they are a cost-effective option for those who are sick or injured. Because of the high population of uninsured citizens in Louisiana, these clinics are gaining popularity. They offer medical treatment at a lower cost than many regular clinics, and some even offer primary care options.

Healthcare in Louisiana

Louisiana is ranked 49th in the country for healthcare. This is due to a number of factors, including a high rate of hospitalizations that could have been prevented, a large percentage of smokers, and over 1 million people who are considered obese. With so many health problems to address, it's no wonder that urgent care and walk-in clinics are popping up through the state.

Urgent Care FAQs

  • How much will an urgent care visit in Louisiana cost?

The price charged at an urgent care, whether in Louisiana or elsewhere, will be based on the location, and there are no actual standard costs between the clinics. Assuming you are paying with cash, you might come across an urgent clinic that charges you $50 while another situated some mile away charges you $100 for the same services. The standard cost in urgent care where insurance cover is not involved ranges from $100 to $125. This price is generally the standard price of a visit before extra services. There are a couple of additional care services that could make your appointment to an urgent care costly including x-rays and lab tests, medications and injections (such as immunization), casting broken bones, as well as stitches and splints. If you have a viable insurance plan in place, the standard pay will be between $20 – 50 depending on your insurance coverage and whether you are in contact with the provider.

  • Are Louisiana urgent care centers open after hours?

Most primary care doctor offices are open during routine work hours, Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Typical urgent care hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily, although location-specific hours may vary.

  • Do urgent care centers in Louisiana take appointments?

Historically, urgent care centers were strictly an on-demand, walk-in healthcare service mode. More recently, as consumer behaviors and expectations have evolved, many urgent care clinics have begun offering book ahead visits, allowing consumers to select a same-day or next-day time that works best for their schedule. • What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is available to assist patients that are looking for immediate, convenient medical care. In that manner, they are similar to an emergency room. The difference, however, is that ERs are meant to treat major, life-threatening injuries and illnesses while urgent care centers manage life’s minor bruises and bumps. In simple terms, an urgent care is seen as a walk-in health center that focuses in offering non-emergent health care conditions, including the treatment of the typical illnesses and injuries such as fractures and sprains, cuts and burns, scrapes, stings and bites, flu and cold symptoms, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and much more. Most urgent care facilities offer both diagnostic and preventive care such as well visits, immunizations, STD testing and annual physicals. For regular visits and check-ups on these clinics, you should expect to pay between $20 and $100. The good thing is that most urgent care clinics will accept major PPOs and insurance cover, Medicare, as well as self-pay in the form of credit cards or cash. Urgent care clinics are located in most parts of the country in various regions to offset emergency room visits and provide a gap in healthcare services. They take patients during all hours of operations, which offer a significant convenience to most people who have and continue to undergo the need for sudden and immediate medical attention.
