I had made an appointment a few hours before arriving. I arrived 20 mins before my scheduled appointment time. I waited close to an hour before briny put in a treatment room. A gentleman who was checking in right before I did who didn’t have an appointment was called back to a treatment room before me even though I had an appointment. I understand being busy and waiting past my appointment time, what I don’t agree with is that having an appointment doesn’t make any difference over a walk-in. The care I got from the provider was great once I was seen..an hour after my appointment time

Went in with an ear ache and no voice. Nurse did swab for Covid, flu, and strep nurse practitioner came in and said I had Covid. I left there and did two other test with the same exact test used at the facility and the test were negative. They were ran by nurses as well. I went back to the facility to talk to them about it and the nurse was very defensive and would not give me another test even though I showed her the two negative tests that I just received. This is not good because I’m staying with a family member at a hospital and I was unable to go back due to the fact that I had a Covid diagnosis. I had to get another doctor to retest me so that I could go back. Test was negative so your facility let me walk out of there with a false positive and would not retest. I am not happy. Retested again today still negative.

This was my first time to Complete Urgent Care, and to be honest.. after the care I received from Stephanie yesterday, I won’t be wasting my time with another Urgent Care every again! The drive from Perkinston was well worth it! I had been severely sick since I had my second COVID shot on July 7th. Yes, I suffered for 20 days before I finally couldn’t take it anymore! Her bedside manner, the way she truly listened to me and didn’t act like I was just another person, but someone she was seriously considered about, was what will bring me back this clinic! 6 prescriptions and almost 24 hours later, I feel loads better already! Stephanie, I know this line of work can make you lose your sense of good in others, but please I beg you to never lose how caring and loving you are for patients! I only wish I could have you as my regular PC!

About Gout Testing

Gout Testing is a diagnostic test used to detect elevated levels of uric acid in the blood or joint fluid. Gout is a form of arthritis caused by the buildup of uric acid crystals in the joints, leading to inflammation and severe pain. Gout Testing helps healthcare providers diagnose and manage this painful condition.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Dauphin Island, Alabama, and experience recurrent episodes of joint pain, swelling, and redness, Gout Testing is recommended. Gout is more common in men, postmenopausal women, and individuals with a family history of the condition. People with certain medical conditions, such as kidney disease or hypertension, may also be at higher risk for gout.

Tests Included in Gout Testing

Gout Testing may include the following tests:

  • Uric Acid Blood Test: Measures the concentration of uric acid in the blood. Elevated uric acid levels can be a sign of gout or other conditions.
  • Joint Fluid Analysis: In cases of joint swelling, a sample of fluid may be withdrawn from the affected joint and analyzed for the presence of uric acid crystals.

Interpreting the Results

Elevated levels of uric acid in the blood or the presence of uric acid crystals in joint fluid confirm the diagnosis of gout. A healthcare provider will consider the patient's symptoms, medical history, and test results to make an accurate diagnosis.

Managing Gout

Gout is a chronic condition that requires long-term management to prevent recurrent flares and joint damage. Treatment for gout may include:

  • Lifestyle Changes: Making dietary changes, such as limiting purine-rich foods (e.g., red meat, seafood), and maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce uric acid levels.
  • Medications: Anti-inflammatory drugs and medications that lower uric acid levels (e.g., allopurinol, febuxostat) may be prescribed to manage gout symptoms and prevent future flares.
  • Fluid Intake: Ensuring adequate fluid intake can help promote the excretion of uric acid from the body.

Following the Test

After Gout Testing confirms a diagnosis of gout, healthcare providers will work with individuals to develop a personalized treatment plan to manage gout symptoms and reduce the risk of future flares.

Gout Testing plays a crucial role in diagnosing and managing gout, allowing individuals to find relief from pain and maintain joint health.
