About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood or body fluids of an infected person should get tested for hepatitis. This includes healthcare workers, individuals who have had unprotected sex with an infected person, people who have shared needles or other drug paraphernalia, and those who have traveled to regions with high rates of hepatitis. In Malvern, AR, it is particularly important for individuals who fall into these categories to get tested, given the prevalence of the disease in the area.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. According to the CDC, chronic hepatitis can cause liver disease, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection through testing allows for prompt treatment, reducing the risk of these severe outcomes. In Malvern, where hepatitis is prevalent, getting tested can be a life-saving decision.
