Being able to make an appointment and being seen in a timely manner is a huge plus. Carbon Health in Los Al is my go to Urgent Care as it is for several of my friends. I was greeted with kindness and was checked in immediately. Time from start to finish was about 1 hour. Kudos to Team Sarah, Mony, Bryan and Destiny in their team approach for taking care of us!

First time here and everyone was super friendly and the facility is really clean. I decided to come here due to symptoms of a sinus infection. I love how easy it was to make an appt, especially same day! I also saw a sign that they take walk ins. Overall great experience!

So amazing these caring souls that work here! I came in last minute with my daughter and in the kerfuffle of illness and getting her there on time we forgot her ID. The appointment I had originally was at 6:30 and they close at 7. We didn’t get back there with the ID until 6:50. The angel at the front desk called me to see if I was still coming! They helped us thoroughly, thoughtfully and with incredible kindness. Thank you immensely.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is at risk of exposure should consider getting tested for hepatitis. This includes those who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with hepatitis, individuals with multiple sexual partners, people who inject drugs, and those who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis. Additionally, healthcare workers and others who may come into contact with blood and body fluids are at higher risk.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it is often asymptomatic, meaning people can carry the virus without showing any symptoms. According to the CDC, early detection can help prevent the spread of the virus and allow for timely treatment, reducing the risk of severe liver disease and other complications.

Hepatitis testing options in Long Beach, CA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer a convenient option for hepatitis testing. Carbon Health Urgent Care in Long Beach, for example, is a highly-rated facility offering same-day and next-day appointments, which can be booked through Solv.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another reliable source for hepatitis testing. They can provide comprehensive care and follow-up after the test results.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers in Long Beach and nearby cities like Signal Hill and Wilmington offer free or low-cost STD testing, including hepatitis.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are also available for those who prefer the convenience and privacy of testing at home. These can be ordered online and returned by mail for analysis.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Long Beach

Long Beach, located in Los Angeles County, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the years. According to the CDC, the city's rates are higher than those in nearby counties like San Diego and Ventura, but lower than the national average.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Long Beach

Risk factors in Long Beach mirror those nationwide, including unprotected sex, drug use, and close contact with infected individuals. Certain populations, such as the homeless, are at higher risk due to limited access to healthcare and preventive measures.

Other STDs in Long Beach

In addition to hepatitis, Long Beach has seen a rise in other STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis. The rates of these STDs are comparable to those in nearby cities and counties. It's important for individuals at risk to get tested regularly and to use preventive measures to reduce the spread of these diseases.
