My daughter had an injury to her eye late at night. We tried booking an appt with 3 other 24/hr online immediate cares, but none of them had availability. We then tried Rapid Immediate Care. It worked out, they had the earliest available appt. They were able to check her in, inspect her eye injury, give her pain drop for her eye, and order antibiotic in time for her to make it to summer class and not be late. The staff were decent and friendly, good bedside manner. Seemed relatively knowledgeable. Her eye is now on the mend. I have worked in immediate cares and acute care settings in the past myself. In my opinion, this location is better organized and functioning than most immediate care settings I've been to. It certainly beats waiting 7 hrs in an ER, and the quality of care has been good overall, at least for all the times we've been there in the past (strep covid, sore throats, pains). The only reason I didn't contact them first this time, the drive is further away than other locations.

The receptionist and PA that was there today (2/20/2019)were great and amazing! My only complaint was that the nurse on staff today was not so warm and welcoming let alone have 1 smile on her face . Other than her I was very happy with our visit today .

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who has been exposed to the hepatitis virus, either through sexual contact, sharing needles, or from an infected mother to her newborn during childbirth, should get tested. Additionally, people who have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis and those with chronic liver disease are also recommended to get tested. According to the CDC, people born between 1945 and 1965, often referred to as baby boomers, should get tested for hepatitis C, as this group is five times more likely to be infected.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it is often asymptomatic in its early stages, meaning it does not show any signs or symptoms. Undiagnosed and untreated hepatitis can lead to severe liver damage, including cirrhosis and liver cancer. Early detection through testing allows for immediate treatment, which can prevent these severe health complications.

Hepatitis testing options in Arlington Heights, IL:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are convenient options for hepatitis testing. These facilities often have shorter wait times than traditional doctor's offices. Rapid Immediate Care in Hoffman Estates and Midwest Express Clinic in Northbrook are two highly-rated urgent care centers in the area. You can book same-day and next-day testing appointments at these locations through Solv's website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also offer hepatitis testing. If you have a longstanding relationship with a primary care provider, this may be a comfortable and convenient option for you.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Free STD testing and community health centers provide an important service for those who may not have insurance or who may not be able to afford testing otherwise. While these locations may not offer the same convenience as urgent care centers or primary care providers, they are a vital resource for many.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits provide privacy and convenience, as you can take the test at your own time and send it to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Arlington Heights

While specific data for Arlington Heights is not readily available, Cook County, where Arlington Heights is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases in recent years, according to the CDC. This trend mirrors the national trend, with hepatitis cases increasing across the United States.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Arlington Heights

Risk factors for hepatitis in Arlington Heights are likely similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles, and having a mother who is infected with hepatitis. Additionally, people who have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis are also at risk.

Other STDs in Arlington Heights

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also a concern in Arlington Heights. Just like with hepatitis, getting tested for these STDs is crucial for early detection and treatment.
