About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to the hepatitis virus, either through sexual contact, sharing needles, or from an infected mother to her newborn during childbirth, should get tested. Additionally, individuals who have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis, healthcare workers, and those with certain medical conditions such as liver disease or HIV, should also consider getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection through testing allows for prompt treatment, reducing the risk of these complications. Furthermore, knowing your hepatitis status can help prevent transmission to others.
