I was very sick and had difficulty in breathing. The doctor simply came to me and said your test results show that you have Corona Virus. He didn't even consider prescribing a medicine that will help me with the couph and chest pain. I also asked for the test results so I can send them to my employer to excuse me from work but they didn't provide me with the test results. They asked me to login and see the results online. I loged in but there wad no recent test results on there.

I've had a head cold for 3 weeks without relief. I had done an e-visit and a virtual through my primary office. I will say my virtual visit suggested I get my ears checked. Thank goodness she did. I had inflammation and fluid in both ears! I hadn't been able to hear for over a week. Thanks to Urgent Care I finally got the medication needed for my body to heal. I had a great visit. The staff there was so helpful and professional. The scheduling was a breeze. I didn't have to wait long before seen. I would recommend going here.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is at risk of hepatitis should get tested. This includes people who have been in close contact with someone who has hepatitis, those who have shared needles, and those who have had unprotected sex, especially with multiple partners. According to the CDC, baby boomers (people born between 1945 and 1965) are also at a higher risk of hepatitis C and should be tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it can lead to serious health issues if left untreated, including liver disease and cancer. Moreover, many people with hepatitis do not have symptoms, so testing is the only way to know if you have the virus. Early detection can lead to treatments that can cure hepatitis C and control hepatitis B to prevent liver damage.

Hepatitis testing options in Wyandotte, MI:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics such as 1st Choice Urgent Care in Taylor and HMC Urgent Care in Dearborn offer hepatitis testing. These clinics are convenient options for those who need immediate testing. Appointments can be booked same-day or next-day through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for hepatitis testing. If you have a regular doctor, they can order a hepatitis test during a routine check-up.

Free STD testing and community health centers

There are also free STD testing centers and community health centers that provide hepatitis testing. These centers are vital resources for those who cannot afford testing or do not have insurance.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are available for those who prefer to test in the privacy of their own homes. These kits can be ordered online and include instructions on how to collect a sample and send it to a lab for testing.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Wyandotte

The prevalence of hepatitis in Wyandotte, MI, is consistent with national trends, with hepatitis C being more common than hepatitis B. According to the CDC, Wayne County, where Wyandotte is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the past decade. However, it's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher as many people with hepatitis do not know they have it.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Wyandotte

Risk factors for hepatitis in Wyandotte include unprotected sex, sharing needles, and close contact with someone who has the virus. Other risk factors are related to socioeconomic status, as lower-income individuals may have less access to healthcare and preventive services.

Other STDs in Wyandotte

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are present in Wyandotte. The rates of these STDs are similar to those in nearby cities such as Ecorse, Southgate, and Lincoln Park. As with hepatitis, testing is crucial for early detection and treatment of these STDs.
