Went in for a sore throat and they told me it was too early to test for it + didn't have any kits in. Got there 15 minutes early, as suggested, and waited over 20 minutes while the lobby was completely empty.

Urgent care

Dr Doylug and the entire staff were great. I came in with a broken leg and they got me X-rays and a temp cast and lined me up with a specialist visit right away. DR Doug went above and beyond to provide the best care possible.

Short Wait Time

Urgent care
Lab testing
I would come back here again.  Scheduling was very easy, wait time was nil, care and testing was good and the environment is great. My only criticism is that neither the nurse who I first saw, or the provider introduced themselves.  Being in health care myself, an introduction is critical.  A simple "Hi my name is David, I'm a PA" would have been sufficient.

I highly recommend for anyone thinking of getting tested. From start to finish the whole process was hassle free and and very professional. I had my results very quickly and discreetly couldn't be happier with the service.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is at risk for hepatitis should get tested. This includes people who have been exposed to the virus, those who have had unprotected sex, individuals who share needles, and those who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis. Additionally, people with chronic liver disease, HIV or AIDS, and those who were born to a mother with hepatitis should also be tested. It's important to remember that hepatitis can be asymptomatic, meaning you could have the virus and not know it. Therefore, regular testing is crucial if you are at risk.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is important because it allows for early detection and treatment. If left untreated, hepatitis can lead to serious health complications including liver disease and liver cancer. Furthermore, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of the virus to others. According to the CDC, in 2018, there were an estimated 2.4 million people in the United States living with hepatitis C, many of whom were unaware of their infection.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits can be ordered online and used in the privacy of your own home. They offer a convenient and confidential way to get tested.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Stillwater

While specific data on the prevalence of hepatitis in Stillwater is not readily available, the CDC reports that the rate of new hepatitis C infections has been increasing in recent years, particularly among young people who inject drugs. It's important to note that these trends may vary by region and population.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Stillwater

Risk factors for hepatitis in Stillwater are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles, and having a mother with hepatitis. Other risk factors may include having a job that exposes you to human blood, being born between 1945 and 1965, and having received a blood transfusion or organ transplant before 1992.

Other STDs in Stillwater

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also present in Stillwater. Regular testing is recommended for anyone who is sexually active, particularly those with multiple partners or those who do not consistently use condoms.
