Urgent care

The staff were very nice and very helpful. The only issue I had was that I ended up needing to go to the hospital as my condition was more serious then initially determined by urgent care. I would have appreciated referral instead of waiting for the pain to worsen.

I generally know when I have an UTI so my first choice is AFC Urgent Care. The staff is always very polite from the front door to me actually seeing the Dr. and leaving. Very pleasant staff, great care and even check-in doesn’t take a long time. I wouldn’t change your go anywhere else. Thank you AFC.

I came in one day without an appoint and waited two hours as a walk-in before I had to leave without being tested. I made an appointment through Quest Lab Testing for the next day, showed up on time, got tested easily and was on my way in 15-20 minutes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is at risk for hepatitis should consider getting tested. This includes individuals who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with hepatitis, those who have engaged in unprotected sex, people who have shared needles or other drug paraphernalia, and individuals who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis. In particular, if you live in Newton, NC or surrounding cities like Conover, Claremont, Maiden, Hickory, or Catawba, it's important to be aware of the prevalence of hepatitis in your community and consider testing if you fall into any of these risk groups.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, including liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. According to the CDC, early detection and treatment can significantly reduce these risks. Moreover, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of the virus to others.

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Your primary care provider can also administer hepatitis tests. If you don't have one, Solv can help you find trusted healthcare providers in Newton and nearby areas.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing. It's worth checking with local centers in Newton and surrounding counties like Raleigh County, Fayette County, Augusta County, Forsyth County, and Nelson County.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for hepatitis testing. These kits can be ordered online and used in the privacy of your own home, with results typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Newton

While specific data for Newton is not readily available, it's important to note that hepatitis is a significant public health issue in North Carolina. According to the CDC, the state has seen an increase in hepatitis cases in recent years. This trend underscores the importance of regular testing, particularly for those in high-risk groups.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Newton

Risk factors for hepatitis in Newton are similar to those elsewhere and include unprotected sex, sharing needles, close contact with a person infected with hepatitis, and travel to areas with high rates of hepatitis. Awareness and understanding of these risk factors are crucial in preventing the spread of the virus.

Other STDs in Newton

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Newton and surrounding areas. Regular testing for these STDs is recommended for individuals at risk. Testing locations include Exceptional Lab Solutions in Huntersville, NC and AFC Urgent Care in Mooresville, NC, both of which have high ratings and can be booked through Solv.
