I had a bad cough for weeks and I couldn’t get an appointment with my primary care doctor. I decided to make an appointment with urgent care. The scheduling process was easy, check jn the next morning was a breeze. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The nurse and doctor covered all bases. I would definitely go back again and recommend to my family and friends.

I saw my primary on Thursday for the same condition (at a health system considered the premier in the mid-Atlantic region). They did no tests and prescribed no remedy. Today (Saturday) came here. They sorted me out and scheduled future tests. So, they solved my issues.

The check in computer machines were too complicated for Senior Citizens and individuals who are not computer savvy.  We had to use several check in machines to check in. The receptionist had to use two machines before she could check us in. Staff was very nice.

Probably one of most cleanest urgent cares I’ve been in. Very easy to make an appointment, no wait time but expected to wait if I had to. The front office was very friendly and the staff in the back were just as nice. Dr. Patel was very attentive and listened to all my concerns. I highly recommend to go if you need to

There is a lack of good communication between the front desk and the doctor in charge of calling back patients. Even though this doctor told me she has a policy of returning calls at the end of the day, she wasn’t able to tell that to the front desk so they tell the patient. Unfortunately I wasted an appointment visit that she was not willing to not charge, but better yet, loosing a new customer. Is sad to see how greedy director she is.  The staff in general is ok. Nurses are nice and even apologetic about this situation. But as they say, this matter was above their capabilities. If k ever go back I’ll make sure I’ll never have to see this lady dr director.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Hepatitis, a condition characterized by inflammation of the liver, can be caused by several types of viruses, including hepatitis A, B, and C. According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to these viruses should get tested. This includes individuals who have shared needles or other drug paraphernalia, had unprotected sex, traveled to countries where hepatitis is prevalent, or have been in close contact with someone who has hepatitis. Additionally, people with certain medical conditions, such as chronic liver disease or HIV, should also consider getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial for several reasons. Early detection can help prevent the spread of the disease to others and allows for immediate treatment, which can limit liver damage and potentially save lives. It's also essential to understand that many people with hepatitis do not experience symptoms until the disease has progressed, making regular testing vital for those at risk.

Hepatitis testing options in Middlesex, NJ:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care centers and walk-in clinics in Middlesex, NJ, such as Carbon Health Urgent Care in nearby Green Brook Township, offer hepatitis testing. These facilities are a convenient option as they typically have shorter wait times than traditional doctor's offices and hospitals. Appointments can be easily booked through Solv's website or mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also conduct hepatitis testing. If you have a long-standing relationship with a primary care provider, this can be a comfortable and convenient option.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers in and around Middlesex, NJ, offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing. These centers are a valuable resource, particularly for individuals without insurance or those with limited financial resources.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are another option. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Middlesex

While specific data for Middlesex, NJ, is not readily available, the CDC reports that the prevalence of hepatitis, particularly hepatitis C, is on the rise nationally. This trend is likely reflected in Middlesex and Somerset County, where Middlesex is located. Regular testing and awareness of risk factors are key to addressing this public health concern.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Middlesex

Risk factors for hepatitis in Middlesex are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles or other drug paraphernalia, having a tattoo or piercing done with unsterilized tools, and having close contact with a person infected with hepatitis.

Other STDs in Middlesex

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also of concern in Middlesex. As with hepatitis, regular testing is critical for early detection and treatment of these diseases. Testing for these STDs can also be done at the same locations as hepatitis testing, including urgent care centers, primary care providers, community health centers, and at-home testing.
