I have been to this facility a few times when I have had to take my child in times when her Pediatrician was away. They have taken care of her and even given me a referral so that I may take her to a specialist to further evaluate her. It's not very far from my home at all. I'm glad they are also available after my child gets out of school, since her pediatrican's last appt. is at 3:30, I have time to go to Metro-UrgiCare and feel reassured.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood or body fluids of an infected person should get tested for hepatitis. This includes people who have shared needles or other drug-injection equipment, have had unprotected sex with an infected person, or were born to a mother with hepatitis. Additionally, healthcare workers and people who have lived in or traveled to regions with high rates of hepatitis are also recommended to get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Hepatitis, if left untreated, can lead to serious health complications, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection through testing is crucial for effective treatment and preventing the spread of the disease to others. Moreover, many people with hepatitis do not show symptoms until the disease has progressed, making regular testing even more important for those at risk.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Mount Vernon

Risk factors for hepatitis in Mount Vernon are likely similar to those in other parts of the country. These include drug use, unprotected sex, and exposure to infected blood or body fluids.
