I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

I came in one day without an appoint and waited two hours as a walk-in before I had to leave without being tested. I made an appointment through Quest Lab Testing for the next day, showed up on time, got tested easily and was on my way in 15-20 minutes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Great discreet service, scheduled my visit and paid for for the test online not in Showed up at lab, checked in and was seen within minutes. Blood and urine were collected, test results came back quickly within 2 days because I did my test on a Friday. Quick, easy and cheap. Didn't have to wait for a visit to my PCP, and then get referral to lab.

I walked in and the girl at the desk greeted me right away and was really nice and polite. She went over my information with me and told me they would call me right in. No one else was in the waiting room and in just a couple of minutes, I was called in. I had someone named Bee who did my covid test and she was great! She calmed my nerves and had me laughing which was needed because I was a wreck. The doctor followed up with some information and I was all good to go. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and felt like I was cared for and got what I needed. I will definitely be recommending this place to others!

I arrived at er dox with my Minor daughter to get her tested for covid. I had tested positive 8 days prior and had not as so much as opened my Front door except to take my daughter who felt that she wanted to know. We went into the waiting room abs the person who called us back and checked us in was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He completely Cut me off when explaining why I was there basically told me very rudely I shouldn’t be there snd I shouldn’t be out and shouldn’t have come. I am Very aware of the guidelines but I needed to know if my Daughter would test positive so that I knew if she could Return to her activities and there is no one else to drive my Minor daughter there. He made both myself and my daughter very uncomfortable and had zero bedside manner especially when dealing with a child. He then also said to me while I was explaining that my daughter felt she wanted to know he says “I know I know I get it she had to know”. Luckily I don’t have an anxious or sensitive child or this experience could have went a totally different way. I was honestly floored by how he spoke to us and how not professional he was. Luckily the dr who administered the test was much better and very pleasant. The non professional persons name I believe was Robert Costa if I read it correctly. I made an appointment and my wait tim Was excellent abs the girl at the reception desk was very nice abs the facility was clean and nice.

The staff were wonderful and we should all thank them for even being there! A special thanks to Dan the clinical director. Nothing but kindness and compassion even as he was multitasking and believe me it was crowded. The care was great and I felt I got individual attention, energy at the end of the night. I witnessed how well they cleaned everything after each patient!! I rated the wait time as a 3 but this should not be a reflection in the site or the staff. They did everything in their power to keep it as short as possible. They even arrived early to hand out rerun times to walk-in patients who wanted COVID testing. Had they not done this we could have been there for hours waiting our turn!! Thank you to everyone!

The reason for our visit to get a covid test for my daughter. We had an advance appointment, but the wait time was still over an hour. The check in process was confusing, you have to wait outside until you are called into the building. I would have been ok with waiting outside, however the staff asked us to wait in the small vestibule between the front door and outside door. I was uncomfortable since 4 people were in this space with no social distancing markers. I could not see our actual place in line through the application (I would like to have monitored my spot this way & stayed outside or been permitted to proceed to the waiting room which was very clean and spacious), when I asked why the staff said we were about to be called (we still waited for a lengthy time after that). The actual test was fast, the exam room clean, & nice bedside manner. I would return but insist on waiting outside.

The woman with long blond braids at the door of the Ridge Hill entrance (greeter) was really rude. Asked me to leave the building because I told her I felt claustrophobic waiting in the room for Covid testing but instead, she allowed a woman and her daughter to drink their iced coffees while they had a conversation with her without their masks as I watched from the outside glass door. I missed my scheduled appointment because of this greeter and had to wait to be called last because she did not inform them in urgent care that she kicked me out of the lobby. I could understand of it was the same protocols for everyone but it is not since she was so friendly with the two females that were having a conversation with her without any face coverings and drinking coffee.

The doctor was very unprofessional and told me that it was ridiculous that I was back after five day from being exposed and that I should use common sense. I went back because I did present with symptoms and ended up testing positive for covid. The was she treated me was totally uncalled for and added extra stress that I did not need at this uncertain time. Even when she called me with my results she showed no remorse and said that she was an er doctor so she has to be straight forward. I understand that she may have been under stress (as we all are ) but it gave her no right, I was in shock Bc she is usually sweet and makes me feel at ease when I go there but that was not the case yesterday

This was my second time visiting this urgent care and I was impressed both times. They are very efficient in scheduling and have minimal wait time. The entire staff is friendly and professional and the nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors spend a good amount of time with you. They can do a lot of tests/scans right there and go over the results with you before you leave - a great change from the usual routine of having to schedule lab work or scans at a different facility and then schedule a follow up for results. Also, this being my first visit since the pandemic hit - I was impressed at the level of cleanliness and felt safer there than any other public place I've been this past year.

The 2 girls that came into the exam room were carrying on a private convo. The one with the long black hair asked me a question but then cut me off during my response. Neither of them shut the door to my exam room. The girl with the long black hair was discussing what was going on in the hallway. I was able to see people walk by me while I was in there. I was there for a covid test rapid/pcr. The girl was so unnecessary rough. There was no need to stick the Qtip as far as she did and as rough as she did. I literally pulled away! I have had so many and I know it’s not done that way. These girls were like the Tasmanian devil, the way they were in and out of the room. No eye contact! Private conversations! No Professionalism! No privacy!

My husband and I needed to have a rapid Covid test. We went to the ProHealth Urgent Care in Howard Beach on a recommendation from our daughter, who had recently been there for a test herself. We arrived without an appointment registered and checked in inside the reception area. We were asked to wait in our car until they called us to come in. We waited about 10-15 minutes then were called inside. Someone came in right away and took our vitals then swabbed is for the test. We were asked to wait in the exam room for 10 minutes to receive our printed results. The whole process took no more than 30 minutes and the staff were pleasant and friendly. I would recommend this facility.

I came in not feeling good. While we are in the middle of a pandemic it felt like a covid factory! We lined up got swabbed waited for our test result. What about people who are actually sick and dont have covid. I asked for my chest to be xrayed and because the tech wasnt there in the morning i couldnt get one. No one examined my throat checked to see maybe if something else could be going on. No swab for flu? Everything is not just covid and i think it should be brought back to basics. The dr was nice guy just wish i would of been treated not just as a negative covid patient and then on to the next.

The person (not sure if it was an MA or RN) who took my sons weight, the pulse ox, temp and completed nasal swab for Covid testing could have had a bit better bed side manner. He did not advise me or my son what he was going to do before he did it. Basically came up from behind him grabbed his finger and put the pulse ox on. He did the same w the Covid test. It seemed a bit aggressive snd just very robotic. Mind you my son is 2. I realize his age and communication skills. but at least let me know. Or maybe engage w him for a second before basically sneaking up from behind and sticking a cotton swab up his nose? I guess I expected a little more compassion from a pediatric facility. This would not happen to an adult when being seen in a medical facility. It should not happen to children either. The MD we saw was very kind and had much better bedside manner.

I cannot express how grateful I am to have this ProHealth facility nearby. Even in these crazy times, the facility was, as always, clean, dependable and filled w caring employees. I had called my primary for an appointment, thinking I had a severe sinus infection. Understandably, as some of my symptoms overlapped w COViD 19 symptoms (severe headache, dizziness, nausea), she asked me to go to a (different) urgent care instead. I knew better, and went to Pro-Health immediately. While I had the option to make an appointment online, they were running 3 days out, so I tried my luck, and walked in. I knew I could count on their safety protocols. I was the only person in the large waiting room. There was a receptionist on the phone when I arrived, it wasn’t 5 seconds later that a second appeared, took my info (I wanted a rapid COVID 19 test first, in case). He apologetically explained that he would call me on my cell when it was time to come in. I laughed: under the circumstances, I expected to wait upwards of 3 hours! They texted me a link, and I filled out paperwork in the car, then rec’d a link letting me watch my exact place in line, in real time. Clearly, they have some staff dealing w walk-ins, and others with those w appts. I was called in less than 50 mins later! This was my first COVID test, and we’ve all heard stories about that nasal/“brain” swab! This technician was thorough, but gentle. No sudden poke, but gentle twisting in both nostrils, sure to get at different parts of each nostril. I was asked to wait in the room for results, which came back (negative🤗) in less than a half hour. The Dr who came in to follow up about my sinus infection was professional and personable. As I’d had no fever, and was already taking Flonase, he started me on a 6 day course of steroids. 2 1/2 days in, and I already see an improvement!! I have used Pro-Health for years, whenever I was unable to see my primary. I have never once been disappointed. How they can handle the amount of people they are, while keeping patients apart, is nothing short of amazing!

Dr Carter saved my life. She listened to my complaints, did the appropriate tests and sent me to the ER. She knew I had blood clots by the special blood work she requested. I had 2 clots, one in each lung. She really listens to her patients, I can't thank her enough. Radiology was a disaster. I waited one and a half hour for a chest xray. I kept asking why are all the people who came after me going before me, they misplaced my sheet in the wrong folder, then someone came out and placed it in the right folder in the back....Dr Carter actually came to look for me because she was concerned that I hadn't returned to Urgent care. A million A+ for Dr Carter and a F- for Radiology.

We had such a great experience here tonight. It was almost closing time, and my daughter was a walk-in. We did not need an office visit, only the PCR test. I panicked a bit when I saw that we were the 16th ones in line, considering she's young and it was almost 9:00 p.m. . However, within 5 minutes, I received a text from Christine, stating that she found our script and chart, and we should be good to get our swab in the triage room or covid test parking spots. Everything moved along seamlessly after that, and the longest portion of the wait was just to give our address and insurance information. Despite how many visibly sick children were in the waiting room, and how impatient some of them were getting, the staff remained friendly and helpful the entire time. I am so grateful for their help, especially knowing how burnt out they must be at this point. We didn't feel an ounce of that ❤️. Thank you all!!

You really need to hire more than one front desk person. She is overwhelmed and things are completely log jammed there. We had the first appointment of the day at 8a and weren’t seen until after 830. A desperate father came in to get their Covid results so their kid could go back to school (same day Monday). He said he had emailed and called and couldn’t get anyone on the phone. She told him “well I’m only one person”. She then printed his results which obviously had just been sitting there. I got a rapid test because I was afraid of having a similar experience getting a pcr test- I found it near impossible to get the actual results the last time I did it as well and had to come in. You are doing a heavy volume of testing but do not have a proper plan in place to give people the results of pcr tests. And you have one front desk receptionist left to deal with everyone and everything. It’s a case of being cheap in the wrong place .

It was excellent!! I was kind of surprised the patience of the nurse practitioner and her caring ways! I have not took the COVID-19 nostril testing due to fear of pain she changed my way of thinking. She explained everything every step of the way even when my questions were silly she did not shy away she addressed my every concern and there were a few. Thank God for people like her!! She is a great asset for any employer that hires her as their employee. We need more people like her in this world then it will be a better place to live in. I truly mean this from the bottom of my heart. I told all my friends and co-workers about her. I suggest if anyone needs COVID-19 testing the best place is *** 3rd Ave!!

at West Islip, NY location, after online check-in, front desk response via text very quickly and provide further instruction. i definitely highly recommended this location For the same Pro Health Urgent care at different location, I got a very good first impression for a different visit prior. i was planning on going back to this location again for another testing at their late hour operation; unfortunately, there were some miscommunication and lack of response from the front desk after my arrival at their parking lot and did an online check in. the text message reminder was great and useful; but i got an conflicting text just before leaving home for the appointment saying my appointment time do not offer Covid-test, i need to go at least half hour early before my appointment time. so i rushed to location at least 25 minutes before my appointment time and did an online check in; i never gotten any response from front desk. after waiting past my appointment time, I walked up to the front door seeing a note saying do not enter unless has appointment and didn't see anyone at the front desk. i assumed clinic had closed for the day. this led me to book and visit the West Islip location

The overall experience was exceptional. The facility is very clean. The day I went there was only a ten minute wait time. The one thing that I was displeased with was the front desk. I walked in and I was asked if I had an appointment to which I said no but I’d like to make one for both the covid nasal swab and the blood antibody test. I got the roll eye and was asked if I tried to make it online. There was literally no one in the facility at the time, to say she was busy. Then I was told the antibody test isn’t covered by my insurance. I left thinking she might be having a bad day. When I went back for my test, it was the same person and i showed her my explanation of benefits that in fact my insurance did cover antibody testing. This time she said “what do you need it for, it’s a waste of time”.

The woman working the front desk was super friendly and extremely helpful with checking in and detailing what was going to happen while I waited for a suite to be sanitized for me. The technician that gave me my COVID screening was fun to talk with, and we discussed our tattoos and artists we liked. He was very gentle with the nasal swab, which can be uncomfortable for some people. The doctor that saw me was very polite, kind, and we had a good discussion about the exam and our experiences working in the Healthcare industry this past year. When leaving the woman working up front wished me a good rest of week as well as good luck on my upcoming interview which I had mentioned casually earlier when she asked the reason for my testing. I would most certainly suggest to friends, family, and co-workers to come here for their testing and other urgent care needs. A very clean facility and super kind staff, it was far more than I was expecting from my past experiences with Urgent Cares.

Friendly and clean . The problem is the NP reported the wrong diagnosis reasons on my son’s paperwork which produce conflict in a household of healthcare workers . My son was seen for covid 19 testing to visit a family member at a surgical facility and for travel to board on an airplane . The discharge diagnosis reason was documented incorrectly, it states known or suspected exposure which is different than encounter for screening for covid 19 . Now everyone in the house that works in healthcare has to explain to our employees that no one was exposed or suspected to have covid. We were using his discharge paperwork as proof that he got swab so that we can start the appointment process to visit the family member at the surgical facility but when they saw the diagnosis, it was place on hold . The documentation should always match the patient’s reason . His father stated it was to visit someone at a facility and abide by their requirements and to board a plane . It is an encounter for screening not known or suspected exposure . Other than the error on his discharge paperwork everything was good .

Strykersville Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
