I  spent wait time that was my fault. I didn’t schedule ahead on line. It was jam packed the day after Thanksgiving. The staff made it pleasant and I could see that they were trying to get me in as early as possible. I would wholeheartedly recommend Express Care to everyone!

I was coughing had headaches a lot of mucus did not feel well went to the Roper care. Had to wait for over an hour, but they were very busy. I was satisfied when the doctor came in and told me what I had and she sent the medication over to Walmart. I went over and picked it up, went home and took my medicine and went to bed. Feel a lot better today. Would recommend Roper care express to anyone.

I was sick with very sore throat for a few days and tired. Walked in Saturday morning for a check up. Had COVID end of September and tested Negative October 7.  The staff checked me for COVID and strep throat - both negative.  After my lungs were checked, was prescribed an antibiotic to clear up pneumonia in my right lung. Don’t remember the names of the staff but they were efficient and cared for my well being.  I would recommend this provider.

I was not aware that patients can preregister. The wait time was over two and one half hours. The staff was pleasant considering their heavy work load. I would recommend this facility to my family and friends. The Nurse Practitioner was exceptional, the assistant was not. The waiting room was cold and the women’s bathroom commode had a flushing problem that I resolved.

Very satisfied with the excellent care I received today. Wait time was long, however, there were many clients waiting to be seen, prior to me getting there. I would recommend this provider.

To the Owner: please remember that your front line people represent your Center as a first impression. If you call and the receptionist gives you a negative attitude bbecause you asked a question that required more than a yes or no answer, she sighs and says "ok, I'll check" you already get the impression that this is not a top notch Center willing to find the the information you are requesting without sounding like it is an inconvenience. Is an online check in a feature you offer? I cant tell. Your web site mention in one ad but not another and your staff doesnt mention it. Your front line people must be equally receptive to telephone and in person inquiries. They need to realize that they work for the patient and family foremost. Also, if you have been referred to an online schedule to see which doc or PA or NP is working, then it should be much easier to locate and it should be user friendly to decipher. It is not difficult to design a simple staff schedule intended to assist patients rather than one designed for staff. Since you are listed as primary care, your patients should be able to find out if "their" doctor is on duty, quickly and easily. With a few changes, your Center could be consistently rated 5's. I have been a nurse manager most of my career so I hope you see my suggestions in the positive light they were intended. A little privacy at the check in desk would also be appreciated by most patients. Thank you for providing space for patients & families to comment.

About Prothrombin Time Testing

Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing is a common blood test used to evaluate the time it takes for blood to clot. It measures the activity of certain proteins, known as clotting factors, in the blood. PT Testing is essential for assessing the coagulation system and monitoring the effectiveness of anticoagulant medications, such as warfarin. This test helps healthcare providers diagnose bleeding disorders, monitor patients on blood-thinning medications, and guide appropriate treatment to prevent excessive bleeding or clotting.

Who Should Get Tested

If you reside in Charleston, South Carolina, and have a history of bleeding disorders, are on anticoagulant therapy, or are undergoing surgical procedures, Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing may be recommended by your healthcare provider. Additionally, individuals with certain medical conditions or risk factors that affect blood clotting may benefit from this test.

Tests Included in Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing

Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing includes the measurement of the time it takes for blood to clot in response to certain clotting factors.

Interpreting the Results

The interpretation of Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing results is based on the clotting time compared to a standard value. A longer PT time may indicate a deficiency in clotting factors, while a shorter time may suggest a hypercoagulable state.

Importance of Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing

Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing is important for:

  • Diagnosing bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia and von Willebrand disease
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of anticoagulant medications, like warfarin
  • Evaluating the risk of excessive bleeding or clotting during surgery
  • Guiding appropriate treatment to manage clotting disorders

Following the Test

After Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing, healthcare providers review the results with individuals and offer recommendations based on the findings. Depending on the results, further testing and evaluation may be necessary to determine the underlying cause of abnormal clotting times.

Prothrombin Time (PT) Testing is a valuable tool for assessing the coagulation system and ensuring proper blood clotting in individuals in Charleston, South Carolina. This helps prevent bleeding complications and supports optimal healthcare management.
