I just love the staff at this Urgent Care Clinic. My daughter, son-in-law and best friend all use this same clinic, the staff is unfailingly kind and compassionate. They are efficient and get you in and out as quickly as possible. They listen to any details that you wish to share. I highly recommend the Baptist Urgent Care Clinic in Maumelle.

I did not know you could schedule an appointment. Thought it was only walk ins. Accordingly my wait time was 2.5 hours. However, once I saw the clinicians it was a top notch experience.  APRN Angela B??? was just outstanding. She seemed tremendously knowledgeable, explained everything throughly and was patient enough to take all the time needed.

A week of upper respiratory illness that was progressively getting worse led me to make an appointment at this location. I selected a 3:30 appointment online and checked in in person around that time. I was out of the office about a quarter after 7 pm. Yes, it was a very long wait to see the provider despite scheduling and pre-registering for an appointment. Others in the waiting room mentioned they had been waiting two or more hours to see someone. However, I am very aware of the volume of sick people and illnesses circulating and know there were a lot of people who needed to be seen. I also assume there weren't a lot of medical offices open the Day after Thanksgiving. I don’t fault the office workers for the wait times. The front desk staff is always professional and courteous, the waiting room calm and clean, and the provider herself was kind, apologetic, and took the time to listen to my concerns and do everything in her power to help me start feeling better as quickly as possible. I appreciate her going the extra mile for me and suggesting X-rays to suss out anything underlying. Excelling provider, nice staff too. I felt well cared for.

Amazing staff. I showed up when they were getting ready to leave, with a deep cut to the finger that needed stitching. They were very nice and considerate and reopened their triage and computers to get me checked in. Everyone was caring, friendly and efficient. It was a great experience.

The staff were amazing and sweet. Seamless scheduling online though I still had to wait about an hour. The receptionist was able to text me when they were ready so was able to come back instead of wait in waiting room. Excellent care and really listened to the issue I was there for. Great place!

Overview of STD Testing in Conway

Who should get tested for STDs?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), sexually active individuals, especially those with multiple partners, should get tested for STDs regularly. This includes individuals who are in a monogamous relationship, as STDs can remain dormant for years before showing symptoms. Pregnant women should also get tested as STDs can have severe health consequences for both the mother and the baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they do not show any symptoms. Regular testing helps detect these silent infections early, reducing the risk of complications and preventing the spread to others. Secondly, untreated STDs can lead to severe health problems, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Lastly, getting tested empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their sexual health and to seek appropriate treatment if necessary.

Std testing options in Conway, AR:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics are a convenient option for STD testing. These facilities often offer same-day appointments and extended hours, making it easier for individuals to get tested. In Conway, AR, the Baptist Health Urgent Care is a highly-rated facility that offers STD testing. You can book an appointment through Solv's website or mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another reliable option for STD testing. They can provide comprehensive sexual health services, including testing, treatment, and counseling. If you have a longstanding relationship with your primary care provider, they may also have a better understanding of your health history and risk factors.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those who may be uninsured or underinsured, free STD testing is available at community health centers. These centers provide essential health services to the community, regardless of a person's ability to pay.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are becoming increasingly popular as they offer privacy and convenience. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for testing. Results are usually available within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Conway

Conway, located in Perry County, AR, is not immune to the nationwide increase in STD rates. According to the CDC, the city has seen a steady increase in STD cases over the past few years. This trend mirrors the situation in nearby counties, including Fayette County and Coahoma County. The most common STDs in Conway are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.

Risk factors related to STDs in Conway

Several factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Conway. These include a lack of comprehensive sexual education, limited access to healthcare services, and high rates of poverty. Additionally, stigma and lack of awareness about STDs can deter individuals from getting tested. It's crucial to address these risk factors to effectively control and prevent the spread of STDs in the community.
