This place is a hidden gem! I always try and avoid urgent care places as it’s usually a long wait, lots of people, not the cleanest and just difficult. But here, once I arrived the check in was seamless, the staff was friendly, the office very clean. And to top it off my doctor spent so much time with me ane was kind and listened. Highly recommend!

Was able to get my daughter in the same day for some mystery abdominal pain. I’ve been to the other locations but this was my first time at the Lafayette office. My daughter and I were both very impressed with how thorough the doctor is. He has such a calm bedside manner. The office itself has plenty of parking and this location is so cute!! The others are so cold and modern but this office has a cottage cozy feel (without being cramped) We will be using this location from now on

Juan, the medical assistant was good and receptive. The PA who saw me was also good but I just didn't agree with her recommendations. She was gracious to accept my opinion and she maintained her professionalism despite my disagreement. She did tell me that she was putting me on dexamethasone but forgot to explain the dosage; and also antibiotic but I already know what to do with the antibiotic. I thought the prednisone was a little high--40 mg everyday for seven days. It may be a good dose but for me, it gives me quiver and crave for food that's the reason why I was hesitant to take it. She did offer me to be nebulizer but I said I'll do it at home.

The online scheduling was easy with the time slot availability shown. The hour is great, open later than others in the area, avoided going to ER. I arrived & check-in was smooth & no wait. Aria looked over my wound & stitch up the cut, & the support staff was friendly & professional. I barely felt it during the process, & she periodically reminded me if too painful, she can numb more. Great facility!

My husband & I tested positive for COVID this AM. We both were able to very conveniently make online appointments for medical evaluations within 30 minutes of our requests. The UC Village-Albany Urgent Care clinic is modern and attractive with highly efficient, very welcoming, friendly, professional & personable administrative and medical staffs. All of the medical personnel have very kind and empathetic bedside manners and listened very well to (and heard!) and were responsive to our medical concerns and questions. We both were in and out of our appointments within 30 minutes. We are very appreciative and truly grateful to have your clinic so conveniently located near our home. Please keep up the great work!

Melanie went out of her way to accommodate my husband and me when we came in to get Covid tests. Due to our unforeseen scheduling error, we didn't have an appointment at that time, but she said we could wait in case she could fit us in between patients, even though they were fully booked. She was able to complete our tests quickly and courteously. We were extremely pleased with the care we received. Thanks, Melanie!

Overview of STD Testing in Clayton

Who should get tested for STDs?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), sexually active individuals, particularly those with multiple partners, should get tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Those who have engaged in unprotected sex, have been diagnosed with an STD in the past, or have a partner who has an STD should also get tested. It's also recommended that all adults and adolescents from ages 13 to 64 get tested at least once for HIV.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs do not have obvious symptoms, making regular testing the only way to know for sure if you are infected. Secondly, untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Lastly, knowing your STD status can help protect your sexual partners from becoming infected.

STD testing options in Clayton, CA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics in Clayton, CA, provide a convenient option for STD testing. For instance, Carbon Health Urgent Care in Concord, CA, and STAT MED Urgent Care, also in Concord, CA, offer highly-rated services. You can book same-day and next-day testing appointments at these locations through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also conduct STD testing. If you don't have a primary care provider, Solv can help you find one in Clayton, CA.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Free STD testing may be available at community health centers in Clayton, CA. While these services can be beneficial, they may also be limited by factors such as funding, resources, and eligibility requirements.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing is another option. These tests can be ordered online, done in the privacy of your own home, and then sent to a lab for analysis. Solv can help you find these services if you prefer this method.

Prevalence of STDs in Clayton

While specific data for Clayton, CA, is not readily available, we can look at data from Contra Costa County for a general idea. According to the CDC, Contra Costa County, like many counties in California and across the nation, has seen an increase in STD cases over the past few years. This trend underlines the importance of regular testing.

Risk factors related to STDs in Clayton

Risk factors for STDs in Clayton are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include being sexually active, having unprotected sex, having multiple partners, and having a history of STDs. Other factors that could contribute to the prevalence of STDs include lack of awareness about STDs and lack of access to testing and treatment services. It's important for residents to be aware of these risks and to take steps to protect themselves, such as using protection during sex, getting regularly tested, and seeking treatment if necessary.
