So amazing these caring souls that work here! I came in last minute with my daughter and in the kerfuffle of illness and getting her there on time we forgot her ID. The appointment I had originally was at 6:30 and they close at 7. We didn’t get back there with the ID until 6:50. The angel at the front desk called me to see if I was still coming! They helped us thoroughly, thoughtfully and with incredible kindness. Thank you immensely.

November 4 I came in with an incredibly horrible sore throat no other symptoms. It was not prescribed anything for my incredibly horrible symptoms and then 10 days later I came in again with an incredible amount of congestion and I was given a prescription for an inhaler, three days supply of steroids and some nighttime cough medicine which didn’t do anything. The steroids didn’t do shit. The inhaler helps me in the morning but after over two weeks, I’m still blowing yellow stuff out of my nose and coughing up yellow stuff out of my lungs so virtual appointment, urgent care and will be my appointment this month.

The PA was kind and non alarming!  I didn’t feel that way with the previous visit 2 days before! She explained things carefully, so I understood what I was dealing with and prescribed the correct medication! The previous PA told me I would get a call with the results of my urine  test, but I never got that call and my antibiotics needed to be changed. I developed a fever and came in again! Not sure why I never got that call???

Overview of STD Testing in Irvine

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs. This includes individuals who are in a monogamous relationship, as well as those who have multiple partners. It's also important for people who have had unprotected sex, shared needles for drug use, or have symptoms of an STD, to get tested. Pregnant women should also be tested to prevent passing any potential infections to their baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs can have serious health consequences if left untreated, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Secondly, many STDs do not show symptoms, so the only way to know if you have an STD is to get tested. Lastly, getting tested allows you to protect your sexual partners from potential infection.

At-home STD testing is another option available in Irvine. These kits can be ordered online and delivered discreetly to your home. After collecting a sample, you send it back to the lab for testing.

Prevalence of STDs in Irvine

According to the CDC, the prevalence of STDs in Irvine is lower than the national average, but it's still a significant public health issue. The most common STDs in Irvine are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. The rates of these infections have been steadily increasing over the past decade, mirroring trends seen nationwide.

Risk factors related to STDs in Irvine

Several risk factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Irvine. These include a lack of regular testing, unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and substance abuse. Additionally, Irvine's close proximity to larger cities like Santa Ana and Laguna Woods may also contribute to the spread of STDs. It's important for residents to be aware of these risks and take steps to protect themselves, such as using condoms and getting tested regularly.
