My first experience here. Phlebotomist was running the whole show. She was friendly, professional and efficient. The only negative is that I was not able to find the cost for my blood draw anywhere online or posted within the clinic, so I was a bit shocked at the price.

I have always had great care at this facility. My health concern was chest congestion that was causing me to have shortness of breath. I was seen within 15 minutes of my arrival. Within the next 25 minutes I had the usual preliminary tests done. This included blood pressure and pulse ox taken. The AP then came in and we chatted about my issue at which time she swabbed my nose and throat to test for strep and COVID. She listened to my chest and, because she heard wheezing, she had a chest X-ray done. The results are of my swab testing both came back negative. The chest X-ray showed there was no indication of pneumonia. A prescription for steroid medication was called in, and I was on my way home. Everything was done with such ease and caring. I was feeling so sick, so I was thankful that I was taken care of thoroughly and quickly. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overview of STD Testing in Englewood

Who should get tested for STDs?

Regular STD testing is recommended for anyone who is sexually active, regardless of age, gender, or sexual orientation. It's particularly crucial for those with multiple sexual partners, those who have unprotected sex, and those who share injection drug equipment. According to the CDC, sexually active gay and bisexual men may benefit from more frequent testing.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a critical part of maintaining good sexual health. Many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning you could be infected and not know it. Untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications.

Std testing options in Englewood, CO:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics provide convenient, same-day STD testing. Locations such as Smart Care in Denver and OnPoint Urgent Care in Highlands Ranch offer highly-rated services, with friendly staff and clean facilities. You can book same-day and next-day appointments at these clinics through Solv.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for STD testing. They can provide comprehensive sexual health screenings as part of a regular check-up.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing. These centers are a valuable resource for those without insurance or those who cannot afford testing at a private clinic.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing kits are also available. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of STDs in Englewood

Englewood, located in Arapahoe County, has seen an increase in STD rates in recent years, mirroring national trends. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Comparatively, Englewood's STD rates are lower than those in nearby counties like Carbon County and Albany County.

Risk factors related to STDs in Englewood

Several factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Englewood. These include a lack of regular testing, unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and substance abuse. Barriers to healthcare access, such as lack of insurance or transportation, can also increase the risk of STDs. Efforts to increase testing and treatment access, along with education about safe sex practices, can help reduce these risk factors.
