My first time at Guidewell today made a lasting impression on me. From my phone conversation with receptionist, the ease at scheduling appt, the quick response time for that appt, I was already impressed. Wait time at the office was minimal; Katherine (ARNP) was so caring, gentle and kind. She listened to everything I told her, and made the decision for me to have X-RAYS taken. After having this procedure done, Katherine came back into the room and made some great recommendations for me to follow through with. I only wish I could make Guidewell my Primary Healthcare Provider! Marsha

I got there at 8:15 on Sunday, only two people ahead of me. I didn’t care for checkin process (you had to do it on your phone). Receptionist was very friendly as was the medical assistant. The NP or PA (she didn’t say) was excellent. Would definitely go back.

I arrived at the clinic as a walk-in patient. I was immediately greeted very warmly, and within a couple of minutes I was receiving excellent care! Melanie, and Lori Kelvy, NP are both very kind and thorough. Lori explained the medications she was prescribing and carefully answered every question. I don't remember the name of the young woman who works at the front desk, but she is delightfully helpful! In my opinion, these care providers are exceptional!! I think it important to also add that the facility is very comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this provider.

Overview of STD Testing in Oldsmar

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing. This is particularly important for those who have multiple sexual partners, engage in unprotected sex, or use intravenous drugs. It's also crucial for pregnant women to get tested, as STDs can have serious health implications for both mother and baby. According to the CDC, certain populations, including men who have sex with men and young adults, are at a higher risk for STDs and should be tested more frequently.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a vital part of maintaining your overall health. Many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they present no symptoms, so you could be infected and not know it. Early detection through testing can prevent serious health complications, such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing also helps prevent the spread of these diseases to others.
