My 6 year old son ended up having Scarlett Fever.  We took him to his pediatrician in the morning and they did NOTHING. We were fortunate enough to get my 6 year old son and 10 year old daughter in.  The entire staff was INCREDIBLE! From the receptionist to the nurses to Dr. Anthony.  They ran strep tests, took his temperature, and gave him a couple of antibiotics.  My kids thought they were really nice!  Great staff, very professional, awesome bedside manner and the office was clean!   We are veru grateful and highly recommend!

I had to bring in my daughter because of a bone fracture. Scheduling and paperwork were easy, front desk very friendly, the doctor and the rest of the medical staff were amazing. It was our first time at that location but would definitely go back if another medical emergency comes up.

I came here and was greeted immediately by the fine staff at front desk. Within minutes I had a room and my vitals were taken. The medical assistant Karina was very kind and gentle when drawing my blood. She also helped me schedule a follow up and was patient with me as I took my time to think. Overall this clinic was very clean and I would highly recommend that anyone come here for a quick and pleasant visit.

Have been dealing with issues regarding an infected navel piercing and pushing back a doctors visit because I am always afraid of needing to go. Immediately greeted by such friendly and caring check-in staff. I have no insurance so they were able to help negotiate a price that worked for me. The nurse and doctor who saw me were so friendly and understanding of my fears and situation. They listened to everything I told them and offered me many solutions to my problems, even still understanding my lack of insurance and showing me where to find the cheapest options for prescriptions. All the staff made me feel cared for, as if they were friends of mine I’ve known for a long time. I was in and out in about an hour and am looking forward to my second visit. I would recommend this provider to everyone I know, especially anyone who is normally afraid of being in hospital settings or doctors.

Overview of STD Testing in Roselle

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, particularly if they engage in unprotected sex, have multiple partners, or are part of a demographic with higher rates of STDs. According to the CDC, certain groups, such as young people and men who have sex with men, are at a higher risk.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining both your health and the health of your partners. Many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning you may not know you have one. Untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility and increased risk of HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of complications and transmission to others.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing, making it a more accessible option for many. It's important to check with the specific center for availability and whether an appointment is required.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available online within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Roselle

Roselle is located in Cook County, IL, where STD rates are a concern. According to the CDC, Cook County has one of the highest rates of chlamydia and gonorrhea in the state. Comparatively, nearby counties such as Fulton County and Williams County have lower rates. Regular testing and safe sex practices are crucial in helping to reduce these rates.

Risk factors related to STDs in Roselle

Risk factors for STDs in Roselle mirror those at the national level. These include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and drug use. Certain demographic groups, such as young people and men who have sex with men, are also at higher risk. Social factors, such as lack of access to healthcare and stigma around STD testing, can also contribute to higher rates. It's important for residents to be aware of these risk factors and take appropriate precautions.
