I was hurting so bad, but Dr. Marcine Walter, helped me out. She was the most compassionate, Doctor. She was as kind as she was good. She was always checking with me to see if I was comfortable and not feeling any pain, as she went on with what she was doing. She really took her time. I could not have had any better care. The office worker (Amber), was very kind and courteous and helped me sign in on my phone, which I was having trouble with. I would go back to this urgent care in a heartbeat.

I've had a head cold for 3 weeks without relief. I had done an e-visit and a virtual through my primary office. I will say my virtual visit suggested I get my ears checked. Thank goodness she did. I had inflammation and fluid in both ears! I hadn't been able to hear for over a week. Thanks to Urgent Care I finally got the medication needed for my body to heal. I had a great visit. The staff there was so helpful and professional. The scheduling was a breeze. I didn't have to wait long before seen. I would recommend going here.

Overview of STD Testing in New Baltimore

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), regardless of their age, gender, or sexual orientation. This is particularly important for those who have multiple sexual partners, engage in unprotected sex, or have a partner who has tested positive for an STD. It's also recommended for pregnant women, as some STDs can have serious health implications for both the mother and the baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs do not show symptoms in the early stages, making it possible for individuals to unknowingly spread the disease. Secondly, early detection can significantly improve the effectiveness of treatment, reducing the risk of long-term health complications. Lastly, knowing your STD status can help protect your sexual partners and reduce the overall spread of these diseases in the community.

Prevalence of STDs in New Baltimore

New Baltimore, located in St. Clair County, has seen a steady increase in STD cases over the past few years. This trend mirrors the national increase in STD prevalence. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. It's important to note that these numbers only represent reported cases, and the actual number of infections is likely higher due to underreporting and undiagnosed cases.

Risk factors related to STDs in New Baltimore

Several risk factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in New Baltimore. These include a lack of comprehensive sexual education, limited access to healthcare services, and stigma associated with STD testing. Additionally, certain demographic groups, such as young adults and men who have sex with men, have higher rates of STDs. Efforts to address these risk factors through public health initiatives and increased access to testing and treatment are essential to reducing the spread of STDs in the community.
