This is the second time in three days that I have been to this facility. A couple of days ago I had accidentally used Hibiclens to soak my contacts in and really burned my eyes. Ryan saw me immediately and flushed my eyes and gave me some drops to ease the pain. Then he made an appointment for me with an ophthalmologist and I was seen and treated within two hours. On top of all that he took the time after hours to call my phone to check in on me. Extraordinary care and concern! My wife made an appointment for herself this morning through Soly. We saw Ryan again. There was no waiting and again received excellent care. Many thanks to the whole staff and team.

Overview of STD Testing in Greensboro

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, particularly those with multiple partners or those who do not regularly use protection during sexual activity. This includes individuals of all genders and ages. It's also important for pregnant women to get tested, as some STDs can have serious health impacts on both the mother and baby. According to the CDC, regular testing is a crucial part of maintaining sexual health and preventing the spread of STDs.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is vital for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs do not show symptoms in the early stages, so you may not know you have one until it has advanced and potentially caused serious health issues. Secondly, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of STDs to others. Lastly, early detection often leads to more effective treatment. According to the CDC, regular testing can help reduce the prevalence of STDs in the community.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing kits are also an option for those who prefer privacy or cannot visit a clinic. These kits can be ordered online and used in the comfort of your own home. The samples are then mailed to a lab for testing, and results are sent back to you.

This trend is similar to what is being observed in nearby counties such as Raleigh County and Fayette County. The increase in STD cases is a nationwide issue, but the rates in Greensboro and Guilford County are higher than the national average.

Risk factors related to STDs in Greensboro

Several risk factors may contribute to the high prevalence of STDs in Greensboro. These include a lack of sexual health education, limited access to healthcare, socioeconomic factors, and high-risk sexual behaviors such as unprotected sex and having multiple partners.
