I had to call my insurance agency, TRICARE, to get the referral in order to see the urgent care but afterwards, I was scheduled quickly and seen within the next hour following my phone call. I was in to see the doctor within 10 minutes and then out and on my way to the pharmacy to pick up some medicine and head home. Always a great experience at this location.

I had to bring my GSD in after he really hurt his paw and was limping badly. I wasn’t able to get through to his actual vet. Urgent Pet Care not only got him in right away/ they got him in early. The staff is amazing, from the woman at the front desk, to the vet assistant to the veterinarian herself. My boy is feeling so much better and I saw glimpses of his old self after treatment. It’s hard to trust others with your baby, but everyone here took such great care of him and I couldn’t be happier.

Overview of STD Testing in La Vista

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This is particularly important for those with multiple sexual partners, those who have had unprotected sex, or those who have symptoms suggestive of an STD. According to the CDC, certain groups, such as sexually active women under 25, men who have sex with men, and individuals with HIV, are at a higher risk and should get tested more frequently.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs do not show symptoms initially but can lead to serious health complications over time, such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Secondly, knowing your STD status can help prevent the spread of these diseases to your sexual partners. Lastly, early detection of STDs allows for prompt treatment, reducing the risk of complications.

Prevalence of STDs in La Vista

While specific data for La Vista is not readily available, according to the CDC, Nebraska has seen a rise in STD cases in recent years, following national trends. Sarpy County, where La Vista is located, has also reported an increase in STD cases. It's important to note that these numbers may not reflect the true prevalence, as many cases go unreported due to lack of symptoms or testing.

Risk factors related to STDs in La Vista

Several factors could contribute to the prevalence of STDs in La Vista. These include a lack of awareness about STDs, unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and substance abuse. Additionally, social and economic factors such as limited access to healthcare, poverty, and stigma can also play a role in the spread of STDs. Efforts to control the spread of STDs in La Vista should address these risk factors.
