The check in computer machines were too complicated for Senior Citizens and individuals who are not computer savvy.  We had to use several check in machines to check in. The receptionist had to use two machines before she could check us in. Staff was very nice.

Booked my appointment last night on line. I Followed the instructions I received. I arrived at the facility and checked in on the phone and the young lady at the desk reviewed and finished my check in. So quick and easy. I went right in and saw Kelsey. She was extremely thorough and asked a ton of questions to ensure I received the correct care. All staff members were friendly and caring. I was in and out very quickly which was all that was needed for a UTI. I live 6 minutes away.  By the time I got home, I had confirmation from my pharmacy that they had my prescription, my receipt of payment, a message from Kelsey confirming what she sent to the pharmacy and this survey. 40 minutes from the time I entered the facility u til I was sitting 9n my couch. Amazing! I have recommended Urgent Care in the past and will continue. Thanks so much!

Overview of STD Testing in Long Branch

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This includes individuals who are in monogamous relationships, as well as those who have multiple partners. It's especially important for those who have unprotected sex, share needles for drug use, or have a partner who has tested positive for an STD. Pregnant women should also get tested as STDs can cause complications during pregnancy and may be passed on to the baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. First, many STDs do not show symptoms, so you may not know you have one unless you get tested. Early detection and treatment can prevent long-term health complications, such as infertility and increased risk of certain types of cancer. Additionally, knowing your STD status can help protect your sexual partners from infection.

In Long Branch, NJ, you can visit Carbon Health Urgent Care or Family First Urgent Care in Eatontown, both highly rated with short wait times and friendly staff. Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited financial resources, free STD testing may be available at community health centers. It's important to check with each center for their specific requirements and availability.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available online within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Long Branch

Long Branch, located in Monmouth County, NJ, has seen an increase in STD rates over the past few years, mirroring national trends. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. The rates are higher than nearby Hampshire County and Worcester County, but lower than the national average.

Risk factors related to STDs in Long Branch

Risk factors for STDs in Long Branch include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and drug use. The city's close proximity to larger urban centers may also contribute to the higher rates. Public health officials are working to increase awareness and access to testing, particularly among young adults and at-risk populations.
