This was my first visit there and I scheduled an appointment online and completed all the paperwork online. I arrived 10 minutes early and signed some documents and waited for an hour before I was called. The staff was nice and apologized for my wait and the doctor I saw was very nice but I doubt I’ll go back there

Didn’t get a summary of my visit. I thought maybe it would’ve been emailed to me after but it wasn’t. I called and asked but was advised I would have to come back up there instead. The online option was not available. That’s inconvenient when you’re sick and already home.

Woke up that morning with a sore throat and felt worst than then the day before. The provider was able to help me schedule an appointment with the primary care physician there because I didn't have one and have been looking for one. When the provider came into the room, I already knew I would need a PCP to prescribe me my nebulizer solution but she was kind of rude explaining it to me.

I came in one day without an appoint and waited two hours as a walk-in before I had to leave without being tested. I made an appointment through Labcorp for the next day, showed up on time, got tested easily and was on my way in 15-20 minutes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Overview of STD Testing in Twinsburg

Who should get tested for STDs?

Everyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing, regardless of their age, sexual orientation, or relationship status. However, certain groups may be at a higher risk for contracting STDs. This includes individuals with multiple sexual partners, those who engage in unprotected sex, and individuals who use intravenous drugs. It's also important for pregnant women to get tested, as some STDs can be passed from mother to child during childbirth.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a crucial aspect of maintaining your overall health. Many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they don't present any noticeable symptoms. This makes regular testing the only reliable way to know your status. Early detection of STDs can prevent complications such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and other long-term health issues. Furthermore, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of STDs to your sexual partners.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing. These centers provide a valuable service, especially for those without insurance or with limited financial resources.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are becoming increasingly popular. These kits allow you to collect a sample at home and send it to a lab for testing. Results are typically available online within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Twinsburg

According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area include chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. While these rates are concerning, they are lower than those in nearby counties such as Erie and Fayette.

Risk factors related to STDs in Twinsburg

Several risk factors can contribute to the spread of STDs in Twinsburg. These include unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and lack of regular testing. Additionally, social and economic factors such as poverty, lack of health insurance, and limited access to healthcare can also contribute to higher STD rates. It's important to note that anyone who is sexually active is at risk for STDs, regardless of their demographic or socioeconomic status. Regular testing and safe sexual practices are the best ways to prevent the spread of STDs.
