Was able to book an appointment over the phone in under 2 minutes. My provider was a female doctor who I’ve seen in the past but I forgot her name:( She’s fantastic, both my mom and I absolutely LOVE her. Kind, patient, to the point and excellent bedside manners. I’m hoping I don’t get sick again but if I do, I know exactly who to go to!

I was so pleased with my care. Attention paid to me in medical aspects, health and general kindness to human nature that I went ahead and just got a whole membership so that I can keep coming back there because every staff member was wonderful. Five stars top-of-the-line only place I’m gonna go for certain things. They did in one hour an x-ray and IV Medication for my bacterial infection and neck pain because of my discs and spine does messed up literally they did so much for me in an hour or so then four of my doctors haven’t done in months. I’m referring other friends and family to this place and funny thing I took my mother there with me so that she could get her illnesses treated and an IV we walked out , so . Thank you all staff members we will see you soon

Overview of STD Testing in Missouri City

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), especially if they have multiple partners or engage in unprotected sex. It's also important for pregnant women to get tested, as some STDs can be passed from mother to baby during childbirth. According to the CDC, regular testing is recommended for individuals with a high risk of contracting STDs, including those with a history of previous infections or those who have a partner who has tested positive for an STD.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good sexual health. Many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they show no signs or symptoms, so regular testing is the only way to know for sure if you have an STD. Early detection and treatment can prevent many of the serious health complications associated with STDs, such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV. It also helps to prevent the spread of these diseases to others.

Riceland Urgent Care & Clinic in Stafford and Excel Urgent Care in Missouri City are two highly-rated options with excellent reviews. Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another reliable option for STD testing. They can provide comprehensive sexual health services, including testing, treatment, and prevention education. If you have a regular doctor or nurse practitioner, they can often provide these services or refer you to a specialist.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those without insurance or with limited financial resources, free STD testing may be available at community health centers in the area. These centers often offer confidential testing and counseling services.

At-home testing

At-home STD testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy and convenience. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are usually available within a few days.

Prevalence of STDs in Missouri City

Missouri City, located in Harris County, has seen an increase in STD cases over the past few years, mirroring a national trend. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. The rates of these diseases are higher than the national average and higher than in nearby counties such as Hill County and Calcasieu Parish.

Risk factors related to STDs in Missouri City

Several factors contribute to the high prevalence of STDs in Missouri City. These include a lack of sexual health education, limited access to healthcare services, and socioeconomic factors such as poverty and drug use. Additionally, stigma and fear of discrimination can prevent people from seeking testing and treatment. It's important to note that anyone who is sexually active is at risk for STDs, regardless of their age, gender, or sexual orientation. Regular testing and safe sex practices are crucial for prevention.
