A great experience for something I had a lot of anxiety about. Had no wait time or issues at the testing center/lab. Had blood drawn at 3pm and had results by email at 9am the next morning.

Wait time has always been short and sign in is done online, which I've enjoyed. We've seen Shiloh Manning FNP, Jeff Anderson PA, and one other PA, whose name escapes me at the moment. They've all been great. They've all been kind, happy to offer referrals to specialists, seemed to be concerned with our comfort and care, and helped with everything from women's health to pediatric needs for our family. If we've called in for a refill that was planned, we've gotten it called into Walgreens. We've had Xrays, liquid stitches, and labs drawn without problems. PA Jeff Anderson especially loves children and Shiloh Manning FNP, I would suggest to any female friend for all their basic health concerns. Happy to have them so close by.

Overview of STD Testing in Ogden

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing as a part of their overall health routine. This is especially true for those who have multiple sexual partners, engage in unprotected sex, or have a partner who has tested positive for an STD. Regular testing is also advised for those who inject drugs and share needles, as this can also lead to the transmission of STDs. According to the CDC, certain groups, such as sexually active gay and bisexual men, are at a higher risk and should get tested more frequently.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is vital for a number of reasons. First, many STDs do not present symptoms in the early stages, meaning you could be infected and not know it. Early detection through testing allows for prompt treatment, reducing the risk of serious health complications. Furthermore, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of STDs to others. Regular testing is a responsible and essential part of maintaining both your health and the health of your sexual partners.

Ogden, located in Davis County, has seen a rise in STD cases in recent years, mirroring the national trend. According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Comparatively, Davis County's STD rates are lower than those in nearby counties such as Fremont and Lincoln, but higher than in Sanpete, Moffat, and Rio Blanco counties.

Risk factors related to STDs in Ogden

Several factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Ogden. These include a lack of regular testing, unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and substance abuse. Socioeconomic factors, such as limited access to healthcare and education, also play a role. Efforts to control the spread of STDs in Ogden should focus on addressing these risk factors, promoting regular testing, and providing education on safe sexual practices.
