Lab testing
I was able to choose a Labcorp location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

Had an appt and was in and out. Had 3 tests done...covid, flu, Strep. Everyone was professional and helpful. I have been coming here off and on since it opened and would highly recommend it to anyone

Took my son in for a rapid Covid test. When it came back negative they did a strep throat test next and a flu test. He has a cold. Wait time was long, but understandable with Covid. Doctor and staff were very friendly and very helpful. The wait was about an hour past our scheduled appointment that we made online. We we not charged at the time of the visit.

Arrived at the Scottsdale location and was immediately greeted by desk reception. Person explained the process and I started to register using a QR Code. Registration process was quick and easy. I was even able to take a photo of my driver’s license and insurance card to upload. I was in the waiting room for roughly 5-10 minutes before being called into the treatment area. That was so fast that I barely had enough time to complete the registration….awesome! The triage person took my vitals, asked why I was being seen, and swabbed my throat for strep. Not the friendliest person but she performed her services well. I was then taken to an exam room where I waited for less that 5 minutes for a provider who entered into the room to exam and diagnose me. Ryan was his name and he was a FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner). Great guy with a great bedside manner too. Explained everything extremely well and I was discharged within another 5 minutes. I waited in the patient waiting room for another 2 minutes for my discharge paperwork. The whole visit took virtually no time. The facility was extremely clean and everyone was required to wear a mask. Thru accept tons of insurance plans and because I had met my deductible, I was not required to pay for anything. I would highly recommend using this Urgent Care Facility and I would not hesitate to return should I need to be seen in the future.

My daughter was taken to urgent care for covid and strep throat testing she lives in Ca and is visiting family so my sister had to take her in and we didn’t know if they would allow that being that I’m (mom) in Ca. From the moment I spoke to Brittany who answered the phone the whole process went seamless from what I could gather from not being able to be there. Brittany was very nice, professional and super helpful in getting us all situated with our situation. Truly appreciated the ease and efficiency of your whole office. Thank you!!

Walked in after leaving somewhere else that had a 3 hour wait. I waited maybe five minutes to go back and was in there for a total of maybe 15-20 min and got tested for strep. Very pleased

Walk-in appointment available for a rapid strep test when I couldn't get one at my primary care office for over a week.

I was pleasantly surprised. We came in without an appointment and the check in process was very smooth. We had to spend virtually no time in the waiting room as the front office staff checked us in quickly and then we completed the registration in the car. The wait time was surprisingly short considering everything going on right now with Covid. Both the nurse and the provider were great. Very friendly and professional. The front office employee was also very kind and efficient. I commend this team for working under such stressful times in healthcare during a pandemic. I’m a pharmacist and I understand the pressures. I wouldn’t have scored them lower even if I’d had to wait much longer because it’s just so tough right now with the pandemic but they were very efficient and test results came within 20 minutes for strep and Covid. Provider updated us when strep came back negative and then again when Covid was negative. This team did a beautiful job and treated my 13 year old daughter with respect and caring attitudes. Definitely recommend and will use this location again!

Came in for covid tests and strep tests, no appointment. Checked in online outside. Staff were friendly and super fast. Also recommended pills to help with the symptoms.

I came in with a sore throat and a lose of voice. Assuming I had COVID or strep I decided to go to Baptist Health Urgent Care on Zero Street, Fort Smith AR. The nurse who took my blood pressure and swabbed for test was very nice. Sadly I didn’t get to catch her name. Though the nurse practitioner Scott was amazing during my appointment. He was very friendly, caring and professional. Unfortunately I was confirmed positive with COVID and there isn’t much you can do with a viral infection. He was nice enough to prescribe me some medication to help with my aching sore throat. The only downsides to my visit today was the wait time but when you have so many people walking in, you’re expected to wait longer. Also, the app seems to be glitched out, after I checked in I could see the wait list and what position I’m in. The app decides to not give me the link to check on it after an hour or so past. All in all, I had a wonderful experience. A reminder to all the health workers that you’re doing an amazing job!

Doctor did not run any tests, besides covid-19 and strep, or anything. He said I had a stomach bug and sent me on my way. Awful.

Everything was excellent except I wanted treatment fir what I thought to be a sinus infection. They were tested for strep & Covid and sent on their way. It has been an ongoing sinus issue for 10 days and needed to be treated and wasn’t.

This is our go to for urgent care. Booked for a reserved a 6pm time online. Had to wait in the car for about 40 min after check in. We were treated with an amazing amount of patience and kindness for how busy they had been. Quick strep Confirmed what the provider suspected. Would go back without hesitation.

I took my daughter who is 6 in for a strep test. I was worried about taking her to an urgent care that wasn’t specifically for kids. I will not hesitate next time! The doctor and staff were great with Olivia!

I had 2 young kids (5yo and 3yo) come in for potential strep late in the day. Yes, we waited for multiple hours, but the nurse who assisted us was AMAZING! She was calm, patient, and made the experience fun. She was knowledgeable about pharmacies opened late nearby and gave me such a nice compliment about my well behaved children. She made me feel safe and heard. Very grateful for her service.

They gave me a Covid test and Strept throat test and they were very thorough

Great experience but still waiting on prescription. Went to Walgreens and they have not received the prescription and it’s been an hour from when we left. Trying to get my son’s prescription for strep throat and would like to not wait hours to get it ordered or have the order submitted.

I went in for a sore throat. They did a swab for Strep and it was negative. I looked at my visit summary and it says I went in for COVID symptoms but that was not true. They did not even do a COVID test. If I was there for COVID, I would hope they would do a COVID test versus a swab for Strep.

The lady that first brought me back said I should of not come in. Because a Dr. On phone had me on an antibiotic. when Dr. Looked at my throat she told me what I have is not what phone Dr. Thought. I didnt really need the antibiotic, I needed a mouth wash. I am diabetic and have an infection not strep throat. If I would of listened to the person who took me back to a room I would have left and prolonged my recovery

Bisbee Strep Tests

To establish whether you have group A or group B strep, strep tests are commonly employed. Strep throat is caused by the bacteria Group A strep, which is a sore throat infection. Although Group B strep bacteria can be present in the vaginal area, as well as the digestive and urinary systems, it rarely causes symptoms.

Your doctor may order a strep A test if you have symptoms of strep throat, such as a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fever, or enlarged lymph nodes. Both a rapid and a traditional strep test can be used to diagnose Strep A, and both are performed in the same way.

During a strep A test, you will be instructed to tilt your head back and open your mouth wide. A tongue depressor will be used to gently keep your tongue down while a long swab is used to take a tissue sample from the back of your throat. The strep A test is harmless and rapid, although it might be uncomfortable. The quick strep test provides results in minutes, but the standard test takes one to two days to complete.

Only pregnant women between the ages of 36 and 37 weeks are usually tested for strep B. Because Group B strep dwells in the vaginal and rectum, it can be passed on to a newborn as it travels through the birth canal. A swab or a urine sample can be used to test for strep B.

During a strep B swab test, you or your doctor will collect tissue and fluid samples from your vaginal and rectum using a cotton swab. For a strep B urine test, your doctor will ask you to urinate into a sterile cup. After that, your sample will be sent to a laboratory for further analysis, with results arriving in one to two days.

Your doctor will consult with you to establish the best course of action if your strep test is positive. Antibiotics are often used to treat infections such as strep A and strep B. Antibiotics are commonly administered to a mother with strep B during delivery through an IV line to prevent the infection from spreading to her baby.

Strep Test FAQs

  • How long does a strep test take in Bisbee?

A strep test usually only takes a few minutes. A throat swab is used for the strep A test, whereas a cotton swab or a urine sample is used for the strep B test. Your healthcare provider can tell you how long your strep test will take based on the procedure used.

  • What happens if you test positive for group B strep?

Adults seldom show symptoms or get sick with Group B strep, but it can be dangerous for newborns. Antibiotics are commonly given to pregnant women who test positive for group B strep to keep the illness from spreading to the baby as it goes through the birth canal. Because the infant will not be exposed to germs in the delivery canal, antibiotics are not required for women with group B strep who are having a scheduled Cesarean section.

  • How much does a strep test cost in Bisbee?

A strep test's price is influenced by a variety of criteria, including provider rates, the type of test (throat swab, vaginal swab, or urinalysis), geographic region, and if your health plan covers this treatment. Getting an estimate from your health insurance company or the step test company is the quickest way to figure out how much a strep test will cost.

  • Does insurance cover strep testing in Bisbee?

Most health insurance companies will cover the cost of strep testing, particularly if your doctor believes it is medically necessary based on your symptoms and current health state. Contact your insurance carrier directly to learn more about your coverage and benefits, or ask your strep testing provider if they can do a complimentary insurance benefits check on your behalf.

  • How do they test for strep throat?

The strep throat A test can be conducted to determine whether or not you have strep throat. Your doctor will initially ask you to sit back in your chair and open your mouth wide. Then, using a long cotton swab, they'll extract a tissue sample from the back of your throat. This testing approach is used in both the rapid and normal strep A tests.

  • How long does it take to get strep test results?

The rapid test for strep A takes 10 to 20 minutes to complete, whereas the standard test takes 24 to 48 hours. A strep B test normally takes 24 to 48 hours to produce results. Your doctor or the strep test provider can give you a clearer idea of when you should expect your results.

  • What is a rapid strep test?

A rapid strep test can only be used to diagnose group A strep. This test looks for antigens, which are chemicals that elicit an immune response. A rapid strep test is similar to a standard strep test in that it delivers you results in minutes rather than days. A throat swab was used as a test.

  • How accurate is the rapid strep test?

A fast strep test can provide a trustworthy result. Some practitioners may order a classic strep A test if the quick test results are negative and the patient has multiple symptoms of strep throat. A standard strep A throat culture test is more accurate than a rapid strep A test, but it takes longer to acquire the results.

  • Where should I get a strep test in Bisbee?

Strep testing is available from a variety of healthcare providers, including your primary care physician and urgent care clinics. If you're pregnant, a specialist such as a midwife or an OB-GYN may do the strep B test for you or refer you to one. You may also use Solv to find a lab in your area that provides high-quality strep tests and make an appointment for the same day.
