This was a good experience however I was concerned that the doctor never asked about my symptoms after he knew that I had covid and he never asked my height or weight.

Due to the fact that I had a fever and possibly covid, was referred to the Choice One Urgent care on Rock Spring Rd, Forest Hill, MD. I was seen by Dr. George LaRocco who was concerned due to my age, covid test positive, symptoms, and chest x-ray showing some pneumonia. He sent the necessary paperwork to the new UMS monoclonal antibody infusion experimental program. They accepted me and I was seen the very next day for treatment. Upon completion of the infusion all vitals seemed good, experienced one reaction on the way home and that was a spiked fever and extreme body shakes. After approximately an hour or so, things settled down. It is 2 days post infusion and I am feeling better, fevers are down and almost gone, other symptoms have improved as well. I want to personally thank Dr. LaRocco for taking that extra time to get me into this program since it likely kept me out of the hospital. Much appreciated Dr. LaRocco and team at the ChoiceOne Urgent Care, Forest Hill, MD. My sincere thanks.

I was a walk-in customer. There were 4 persons ahead of me after I completed the registration. I waited for over an hour before I was called. I was then taken to a room where my vitals were taken and told to wait to see the doctor. After waiting for over 45 minutes, I stepped out and asked if I was forgotten. I was told to continue wait as there was only 1 doctor. After waiting for over an hour in the doctor's chair, I had to leave to attend an emergency. I advised the personel at the desk that I would soon be back. I returned about 30 minutes later and was advised that I had to re-register and wait anew. Worst urgent care I've ever had.

My name is Patricia Heist and I was seen by Dr Garcia -Faust on 9/5/19. She was very nice and explained everything to me. The staff was very nice. This is not my first time there but i do know if I need medical care this is the first place I will go. You don't sit there all day like you do in emergency rooms.

Pediatric Urgent Care FAQs

  • What is pediatric urgent care?

Pediatric urgent care specializes in providing medical attention to children facing non-life-threatening health issues outside of traditional doctor's office hours. It's a bridge between regular pediatric appointments and the emergency room, offering a viable option for late-night, weekend, or holiday healthcare needs. These centers work alongside conventional pediatricians to handle mild to serious ailments, ensuring children receive the care they need without the unnecessary stress and often higher costs associated with emergency room visits.

  • Are Kingsville children’s urgent care centers open after hours?

Yes, most children's urgent care centers are designed to offer extended hours, catering to urgent medical needs after traditional pediatrician office hours. These facilities occassionally operate as 24-hour children's urgent care or provide night urgent care services, ensuring parents have access to healthcare for their children during the late hours, weekends, and holidays.

  • How much will a pediatric urgent care visit in Kingsville cost?

The cost of a pediatric urgent care visit in various cities can vary, generally ranging from $100 to $175 for those paying cash, with most establishments charging between $100 and $125 for basic treatments not covered by insurance. This initial cost usually does not include additional services such as medication, vaccine shots, lab testing, and X-rays, which could further increase the total expense. It's important to note that even insured patients may have to make co-payments. For more specific pricing, contacting the local urgent care you are looking to visit directly.

  • What are common services of pediatric urgent care in Kingsville?

Pediatric urgent care centers offer a wide range of services to address common childhood illnesses and injuries. These include treatment for colds, flu, strep throat, ear and sinus infections, pink eye, and pneumonia. Additionally, they provide care for stings and bug bites, allergic reactions, wounds and burns, ingested objects, sprains, and broken bones. These facilities ensure children receive timely care for their health concerns in environments specially equipped to cater to their needs, often enabling a faster and more comfortable experience than what might be found in an emergency room setting.
