Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

The front desk check in person was not particularly friendly. This not my first interaction with her, Celeste. She gathers the necessary information and is rather robotic about it. Not incredibly welcoming. (I’ve been to PM on several occasions for COVID testing since out Pediatrician’s office does not test at all for COVID.) The nurse, Roy, who worked with us at this most recent visit on 9/18/21) walked right in the room, apologized for our wait, but barely made eye contact with myself or my child and then had his back to us while he asked all of the intake questions. He was not warm or attempting to be reassuring to my 7 year old who was clearly nervous to be seen/examined. The doctor we saw was fine and I have no specific objections or concerns. I have been to PM before and really enjoyed the providers (Dr. Mordechai-forgive me because I forget his last name and nurse Amanda. They have been exceptional!) I fully realize that the staff I BUSY given this pandemic but I do have better expectations for an improved beside manner and interactions with families. I, myself, am a pediatric provider so I know what it feels like to be exhausted and still have to work, but you still owe a level of kindness, compassion and warmth in your exchanges with patients and families…especially children.

In love with the doctor. She explained things thoroughly and made me feel like she cared about me and my care. The one thing that made my visit bad was the receptionist woman. She was adamant about me only getting one covid test (antigen or pcr) even though I asked for both and told her I was told to do both. The doctor ended up asking me for both so I got both in the end but it would have been nice to have it done from the beginning if the receptionist girl wasn’t so stubborn on her ways. She had an attitude that made the whole experience less pleasant.

COVID testing arrived @ 10am 70 people ahead of me finally got tested 3hrs Later @ 1:00pm only one tech administrating the test it seemed well organized she still was pleasant considering the amount of people there for the test. I will wait and see how long it will take for the results? The reviews said average of 48hrs hopefully I will see them today? The only concern I have was that the system said I visited Ouches Office site @ 6:30pm I’m assuming that they just processed the paperwork at that time and there wasn’t any mix up with the paperwork?

Front desk was rude upon arrival. The medical assistant that assisted us was very rude. We were there for covid testing and she told me that we should just wait until our 14 day quarantine was over before we got tested. I have never seen such a rude person the way she treated us. The doctor was awesome!!!

I had a Covid test and a Strep test so the nurse came out to my car. She was so friendly and made me feel much less nervous!!!! She even took time to help me fill out the questions!!!! I have been to Ouch 3 times ( I think) and would Highly recommend Ouch!!! I didnot have to wait at all!!!!

- Verified patient on 10/24

Dr. D was wonderful with my daughter. The receptionist was the epitome of grace under fire— it’s clearly a busy time with COVID tests, etc, and she kept us apprised of our place in the queue at all times. The nurse who took her vitals was also kind and efficient. We will definitely use Fast Track again for weekend / evening urgent care needs

- Verified patient on 8/8

Dr was very respectful. I went for a rapid COVID I called ahead and was told it would be $65. The doctor asked me if I had already paid I told him I was asymptomatic but he went ahead and checked my heart lungs and ears. Just hoping that I don’t get charge for a full assessment when I went in for a rapid Covid test that I needed for work and nothing else. I told him I was fully well. Asymptomatic.

- Verified patient on 11/14

We had to wait a long time (around 45 min after our appt time), but only because there was only one woman doing the Covid tests by herself. It was so obvious how hard she was working. She was running around hustling in the rain with people trying to wave IDs in her face and she was still the absolute nicest person ever. I wish we had gotten her name. She was working at the New Hampshire Ave location in Silver Spring, MD on Wed 12/29/21 in the evening (we were there approx 5:45pm-6:45pm). She deserves a raise and so much more!!!

- Verified patient on 12/31

I knew as a walk up for covid testing I would have to wait awhile but even still I could see the attendant going thru efficiently and quickly. She was very patient with my questions and friendly and the Dr. I talked to on the phone listened compassionately and was very helpful. I live on the other side of town but loved my first experience at this Ouch! I would never go anywhere else. Thank you!

Dr Inman is always a pleasure. The RN was friendly, fast and efficient. However the front desk person was horrible. When I arrived she didn’t say “Hi...How can I help you”- NOTHING! I told her my name, and that I was there for a Covid test. She replied “we don’t have Covid tests”. I had to ask a lot of questions to figure out if I could be seen or not. When I questioned her she got very defensive and said “The sign is posted right there”. I couldn’t hear her through the mask, so I said I’m sorry I can’t hear you. She LOUDLY spoke up. Very unprofessional. Acted as if I was a bother.

First time patients, my family and I needed a COVID test. We had made an appointment at CVS, and when we arrived we were told we couldn’t take the tests. PM Pediatrics was quick to help us out. The staff was friendly and helpful and we are able to get our results the same day. I would recommend PM Pediatrics to others, and my wife and I would certainly bring our son back for urgent care.

My 2 kids needed covid testing due to a potential exposure at daycare. I booked online appointments half an hour apart, and arrived a bit early - 20 minutes before the first appointment. They were able to check us in straightaway and take both kids simultaneously. We were out the door in just about 30 minutes, including time to get lollipops and admire the fun paintings. The staff were all so kind and friendly, they made the process as easy as possible. It was our first time at PM Pediatrics, and it’s easy to see why they are so highly recommended.

Came in for Covid test, was given normal Covid test to be sent out. I advised that due to my wife’s position in health care that she couldn’t return to work until I received negative results. The Doctor came in spoke with me, checked me over and agreed to a rapid test which came out negative. I appreciate the excellent service and discussion with the doc and staff.

I went in for a Covid test. Overall the operation was very smooth, but I will say that there was a lot of set up in the beginning when I had to go through all the webpages to register. It seem like a lot more information was needed to set up my account just to get a Covid test. But the staff was fantastic

- Verified patient on 11/16

The staff is courteous and kind!! I did schedule an appointment and was seen earlier than my scheduled appointment time. No complaints on waiting time. I expected a wait!! However, the cleanliness needs to be of higher standard. In sitting in examining room in a chair the examining table required a deep clean. Examining room floor looked dirty. Therefore, I didn’t have a good vibe on cleanliness. Also, when informing staff I was there for a Covid test I was told they would call me up when ready. I indicated I was not comfortable to sit in the waiting room (which was crowded) and ask to sit in my car and please call my cell. I understood anyone with Covid symptoms should wait in their car.

- Verified patient on 9/25

This was my second time to visit this Ouch facility and went in just to have a Covid test done after being possibly exposed. Even though I didn't enter into building, the staff was very punctual as for my appointment time and came out to my car to do test and swab my nose. Also was very happy and surprised to see a very familiar face on your staff who previously worked at my primary care doctor's office. Great visit, great staff members and great professional, quick time services being rendered.

- Verified patient on 9/4

I used the app to book a covid test. It gave me 10:45 for a video call. I was at the facility ready for my test. The staff on video then told me I needed to return this evening since they only do testing after 4pm.. it would be really nice if all this information was provided ahead on app or web site. I had shift my work schedule twice now because of this lack of clarity. Please fix this for all other poor souls after me that are trying to work and do the right thing

- Verified patient on 12/18

Had video appt to see if covid test indicated. Appointment began 10 or so min late on their end. Staff asked me the same questions I had already filled out on on-line paperwork the day before—unnecessary from my point of view. Doc was involved only for a few min which was fine for this type of issue. Both staff and doc were pleasant enough.

- Verified patient on 2/10

I had a slight fever , headache, body aches, congestion, coughing. I looked at other options for flu and CoVid testing but couldn’t get it done for several days. Called Ouch! Urgent care on recommendation of primary care physician’s office staff. I called and was told all appointments were full for today but to get in and I would be tested. When I arrived I called and was told to move to Cone 2. I sat in car and registered. Staff came and got my cards and later did nasal swab. Great service!

Haven't had a bad cold in yrs. Was away from home for a month long holiday vacation. Got sick 1st day of vacation. Friend recommended Your Doc's In. Great experience. Gave me scripts for my bad cold & since my symptoms mirror covid19 I also got a covid test. I will be adding Your Doc's In to my list of go to people. They really saved my vacation.

Stevensville COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Stevensville?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Stevensville?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Stevensville-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Stevensville?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Stevensville including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Stevensville?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Stevensville-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Stevensville?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Stevensville are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Stevensville?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Stevensville?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
