Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

I came in in New Year’s Day for a rapid COVID test. I used the virtual visit option and Save My Spot before getting an appointment. The process saved both me and the staff a lot of time. This is my 4th test (I work in an assisted living facility and we are extremely careful). The staff here have always been extremely professional and friendly and they operate at a fast pace. I would highly recommend the Beaumont - Wellstreet urgent cares for any urgent medical needs!

This is a covid testing site. With that being said everyone was very nice and polite. I can’t imagine how I would deal with every person coming in being a potential positive covid status and still staying calm and collected. I had no symptoms, but my family members had covid so I needed to be tested before returning the work. It was quick and easy. No wait time at all for my pre scheduled appointment. I will for sure use the same site once it’s back and running for a normal urgent care.

After reading reviews and calling around for pricing, I landed here as I thought I'd have to pay for my test (and insurance wouldn't cover). And my experience was fantastic! The online booking system was somewhat difficult but I muddled through. There were plenty of appointment times available and days. They were ready for me exactly at my appointment time when I arrived. I also liked that its easy to find with signs and you remain outside. The people there were SO pleasant and nice - they guided me what to do, and were happy to help. Results were fast and easy to retrieve. And insurance covered it after all! If I ever need another covid test, I'm coming back here.

First time visiting this location. I was just going to come in for a Covid test, not expecting to see anyone except the nurse that was performing the Covid test. But to my surprise, I actually was able to see a nurse practitioner. I’m so glad that nurse practitioner, Jen, was available because she was very helpful and informative and really took the time to talk and listen as I had some other issues going on that she addressed. Also the nurse, Renee, was awesome. Very patient, kind and professional, as well as the front desk staff. My visit there was a 10! And I left with a full printout of the summary of my visit with all the written instructions. I highly recommend this location.

the nurse administered the covid test and the pa who consulted us on it were great however the nurse/tech who initially met with us in the exam room to check vitals wasn’t apparently having a great day... she first asked if anything changed with my son’s chart... to the lay person, we didn’t really understand her question and i’m not sure we answered correctly... she then asked what his weight and height after walking past the scale and height measurement device to get to the exam room... lastly, she didn’t share his vitals with us before leaving but just closed her laptop and said the nurse would be in... i said thank you very clearly but she didn’t even acknowledge my gratitude... as noted, probably having a rough day as the clinic was busy but thought you should know

I was very satisfied with the service I had there today. Even though my appointment was outside due to the precautions of Covid which I'm totally fine with. God Bless there staff they came outside to swab me with a rapid Covid test. I knew ten minutes later. (It was negative Thank God) then the Dr. Cane outside and that's where my appointment was. God Bless them and all the hard work and constant changes they have to go through. I told them that and praised them. They were very kind. Thank You. 😁

First time getting COVID tested. Experience was great, Amazing staff, they work as fast as they possibly can. Waiting time was about 4-5 hours because of the current time we are going through. I entered the front office to place myself on waitlist and inserted all my person information and insurance. My insurance covered the rapid COVID-19 test. (Blue Care Network). We waited in a car until we got a call to come in for the test. I was in and out in 10 min. Results approximately take 20-30 min. Doctor seen us from inside our car after testing. They have a pharmacy right next door where we picked up any medication if prescribed to you. (Amazing guy at the pharmacy too). Will recommend to arrive early, be patient and please be nice to all staff, I promise they are trying there best. They are human too! I appreciate every employee there! Keep doing what you are doing! Thank you very much! Best of luck!

I’m so glad I went to the Beaumont ER for my covid test. Was nervous to go there! Don’t be! Wow! So clean/so safe! Was immediately taken back to nice private room (the waiting room is kept empty) where I was quickly hooked up to EKG and oximetry for the whole visit. No,I was not in distress. First the mouth swab and IV for lab work. Mouth swab neg. and was administered the nasal swab (24-48 hrs).Saw the Dr. on board; listened to lungs. Share that everything so far looks great! All standard procedure. Was experiencing shortness of breath (not at that time) with previous *** diagnosis of early stage emphysema). SOB standard reason for chest X-ray and IV prednisone (took two seconds). So thorough! Script had been sent to my pharmacy for a new albuterol inhaler (old one is MIA) and 5 days of pred. Picked up on my way home. I recommend this for anyone needing testing; the walk in clinics where you swab yourself or relying on the quick test mouth swab isn’t reliable, as told to me now by three of my Dr’s. Highly recommend

I waited just shy of 2 hours for a rapid Covid test…when you don’t feel good that’s a long time. At 9:21 I spoke with someone inside and informed them that I was in spot 18, she replied that someone would be out to get my license and insurance. One hour later someone called to ask if I was there. Explained again I was in spot 18, she said she’d be right out. Many minutes more she came and got my license and insurance card., then returned them. I got a call about my symptoms and why I was there and then directed to go around the back of the building. Just shy of 2 hours I got my results and left. 2 hours is a long long wait. Otherwise your staff could not of been nicer or more accommodating. Maybe you can work on the check in procedures? Thank you for helping me.

I went in for a rapid covid test. The staff at Faster Care Royal Oak did a great job of making this process very easy and very safe for everyone. Dr. Greenberg did a wonderful job of explaining everything that was going on. I'm very happy I went to this office, they made me feel very comfortable under these trying times. I was a real patient, not just a person in a long line of cars. The individual attention to my needs is what impressed me. Keep up the good work. See you again soon for my re-test.

From the initial contact for scheduling an appointment for covid testing to leaving the site all staff very professional and knowledgeable. I was seen in a timely fashion and check in was quick and staff very polite. All staff with hands on in office were very kind and informative. I am very grateful to have this much needed urgent care in our community. I am a patient of university of mi and I can say Springfield urgent care in Hamburg was a positive experience as unsettling as covid testing is.

This is a wonderful option for people who are unable to meet with their primary for urgent concerns. I have also utilized this urgent care office multiple times for covid testing. They are always kindly accommodating to my specific needs. The wait time was not bad at all! I expected to wait much longer as we were delayed for the appointment arrival time. With covid concerns and in need of testing they were still able to accommodate me and my s/o for testing. Cinnamon has been a great provider to us at the Springfield Urgent Care. Her bedside manner and compassionate care shines through. She explained what was going on to the best of her knowledge with the symptoms we have and has provided us with guidance and a care plan to assist in fighting off whatever cold or virus we have. It seems that she truly cares about helping people well. I would definitely recommend this urgent care to my friends, family, or even a stranger looking for local care. Receptionists were friendly and accommodating as well. It think it's been my 3rd or 4th visit there. The consistency of quality of care is impressive. I'm so happy this urgent care is available in my area as pinckney/hamburg/whitmore lake residents now have and option other that going to a hospital in Ann Arbor. Keep up the fabulous care!

I wanted a COVID test before a family party in a few days and found this lab on the web after a search in my area. I was able to drive over right away and while third in line, my wait time was less than 5 minutes. The technician was friendly and thorough. The test took only moments and I was on my way well before 10 minutes were up. I had my results in the morning (thankfully negative). Highly recommend for a fast and painless COVID test.

Lady who did me and my husband’s Covid tests today was very efficient and quick. I feel really bad because I mentioned that the lady who did it the last 2 times was more gentle. After thinking about it I think maybe the kind of swab was what caused the difference in experience as the lady was not unkind in anyway, even after I inelegantly said ‘ahhh, the other lady was more gentle’ after she did my first nostril. Even after my blunder she was as careful as she could be on my other nostril and was as careful as possible with my husband (his first covid test where he did not swab it himself). Not sure if this will get to the lady who did our tests, but if possible please tell her thank you and I’m sorry.

This is my third visit to Rapid Bio drive thru tested facility in front of the hockey arena in Plymouth. Each time the staff is efficient and courteous. I truly appreciate the availability of appointments and the quick results. Even though Rapid Bio did not have an appointment on the day I inquired, Solv, did have a bank of appointments at this facility, so I was able to get in the same day. My results are consistently available in less than 12 hours which brings me peace of mind. I did not rate the facility cleanliness since it is a drive-thru testing facility. I highly recommend this facility for Covid testing.

My 1st visit, doctor was very rude after I explained I came in 5 days after my wife was positive.she said it was a waste of time. I need to come in 5 days after her quarantine was over. I said was just doing what my doc told me..Very rude answered your doctor needs to pay attention. Seemed very irritated. Also was in room less than 5 minutes and of course, charged me for a visit. Would prefer just the covid test in the future, she really did not do nothing but complain and charge me.

My appt was made on line. The online experience was fast and easy. I got to the facility and called from outside the parking lot. Mine was for Covid testing so everything was done outside of the building. I didn’t wait long for the staff to answer the phone when I got there and I didn’t have to wait long for someone to come out to greet me! The staff is very friendly and I feel I received great care! Thank you Burton urgent care!!! I would recommend your place in a heart beat!

Overall it was a good experience. Very short due to all that was needed is just setting up a scheduled time to get swabbed. Having to set up a virtual visit to book a time for a COVID test I understand is probably a way to control the chaos and flow, but I also see this as a money grab as well for the convenience fo booking a time slot vs just waiting and hoping for not a large queue as a walk in. Since it requires a virtual visit that means that more than likely this counts as an "office visit" which then means there's a copay literally just to have a doctor say, "Yep, we'll have a scheduler reach out to you". Thankfully I have insurance to help cover whatever the copay might be. I understand that this is probably bigger than a Beaumont Urgent Care concern, but I just wanted to share my view on this.

I was amazed at the front desk staff because they were so helpful and patient with everybody. I was in the waiting are for a long time and was really impressed. Doctor Beckley was professional, patient, made sure I could get my prescription on my way home and very thorough. The young man that did my Covid test was kind and sweet. I was so impressed with everybody there. I won’t hesitate to go back there or drive a friend there even if it’s out of our way. When I got the text from the lab and couldn’t get my results I called them and didn’t hesitate to help me with that either. Thank you so much

Overall we had a good experience. However, I do no understand why there is a screening process in the waiting room. This seems like it would violate HIPPA. I could hear everyone’s reason for coming in and they could hear mine. Just because of the COVID pandemic does not mean privacy should not be protected. How about a survey you can fill out? Also there was a push to test my six year old for Covid based on her symptoms. I asked for everything to be ruled out first. My daughter was diagnosed with strep throat. Let’s not push for a Covid test by until other conditions are ruled out.

Cass City COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Cass City?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Cass City?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Cass City-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Cass City?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Cass City including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Cass City?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Cass City-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Cass City?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Cass City are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Cass City?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Cass City?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
