Our son woke up with the tell tale signs of pink eye. We were able to schedule an appointment for just 30 minutes later and walked out with a prescription after only 10 mins of intake and exams! Almost zero wait time at all.

Walked in and asked for a bandage change. I was checked in within a couple minutes. And, before I could sit down, I was being ushered to a room. I provided a little history of the wound and the attendant removed the existing bandage & packing, cleaned the area, and skillfully repacked the wound. Thank you. You have a good team in place at this facility. As "Arnold" once said, "I'll be back". I am recommending your facilities everyone in our community. Thank you all.

I was unable to complete the required drug screen for my pre-employment because they did not have the staff member working who does that.

Took a spill and feared a broken bone in my hand. South Huron Urgent Care took great care of me. Waited about five minutes to be seen. Dr Cindy is great!! X-rayed, splinted and I'm ready to go, with follow up instructions that she went over with me.  She showed me the x-ray, and explained what was going on. They took time and care with me. Office staff is friendly and personable too. Highly recommend!!

The room number 4 smelled like wet dogs. The doctor has very less experience, she doesn’t have to know everything but she needed to google more before to meet with patients. The front desk woman was nice when we checked in and out.

Have a physician 3 in the office and not one could see me in weeks time. Pitiful. I was out of town, flying back in late Friday. My daughter got on and had me an appointment immediately. Saturday morning I was at your clinic pronto. Soar throat, ears, hurting, feeling like crap. You were all wonderful, professional, and quick. With the prescriptions I got by evening I felt like a new person. I'm sorry I didn't get your names but you were great! Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you all.

Have been 5star until this visit. Don't know if it was due to a covid-19 frustration. Upon leaving the establishment i was notified that the process was shammed. Sport physical improperly executed while cutting corners of the process. I was disappointed and completely troubled. However I won't be ahh bad sport for the overall process isn't extensive as other places.

Wait time only gets four stars because of the large number of Covid related testing and flu season. That four star rating is only for today’s experience and is what would be the case at any location in mid December ***. HOWEVER, this is a great location and Ms. Zuck andAshley and Paula are really great! So is the other lady, whose name I have forgotten and who is married to the male nurse. This branch and the services it provides to our community at our end of Stafford County, VA is a huge positive. Never had a bad experience in all these years. I recommend this location all of the time. It is perfect for the many needs that we have, such as shots, sports physicals, even Covid testing. So, thank you for having located the office off of White Oak road! Good quality all of the way around. Thank you for serving our community.

I have 3 stars on wait time because the app that needs to be initiated on phone wasn’t working properly. I’m not in the habit of scanning things on my phone, because it causes unnecessary and unwanted texts and emails to me ( like this survey does instance) anyhow, after waiting for the paperwork to come thru my phone, turns out it never did. Therefore, adding another 20 minutes to my wait time. If I had received actual PAPER work to fill out, which I originally requested, it would have been much quicker and done in a timely matter. The receptionist (absolutely lovely girl) told me the only way to check in was they my phone. Well, guess what, I didn’t and filled out paperwork anyway. 😀 overall, sports physical experience was amazing. !!!

Was able to easily get an appointment at my convenience and experienced very little wait time. Staff was pleasant and performed what was needed for school sports physical at a reasonable cost. Great community resource.

Loved the ease of online scheduling & patient history paperwork ahead of time. Heather & Tiffany greeted us immediately & collected the necessary info for checking in my son for the best priced sports physical in Kitsap county - only $50!! He saw a very personable & thorough Physicians Asst - Glenn Peterson who took great care in evaluating my son, including extra focus on his mental health given current COVID-19 circumstances. I highly recommend Indigo Urgent Care in Poulsbo!

Waited one hour even though we had an appointment. Got into the room and had the vitals etc. done, then waited another 20 minutes or the provider. Not his fault, way too many patients and no other providers on staff. Need better staffing. Also, probably need better training on doing the eye test. We were there for a sports physical and the eye test they did showed severe vision problems, which we thought was odd. Went to our optometrist the next day for an exam and vision test was perfectly normal. Need some better system for people to wait if they have Covid symptoms. We were not there for Covid, but many others were. They were, appropriately, asked to wait outside or in their vehicles. Problem was they were waiting out there for 2+ hours. It was a really hot day. So they were in their cars roasting or with air-conditioning on and running their vehicles. Contributing to pollution and global warming. There has to be a better system than that.

The young lady at the front desk was amazing! In don’t remember her name but she was had very long eyelashes (extensions). She was a younger African American woman. The waits were terribly long due to all the sickness and Covid issues. I was there for my child’s sports physical so I was able to wait inside while all the sick people were waiting in their cars. Long story short, because I waited in the office I witnessed how she handled all the people. She was professional and friendly at all times. A woman who was frustrated came in and was not speaking very nice to the employees. The young lady at the front desk never lost her cool. She answered the questions the best she could and she remained pleasant. I was so impressed. Most people would have snapped back at the rude lady! Y’all are slammed with people! People are stressed and tired of waiting(2 hours for some) and they don’t feel well….but I was so impressed with how the young lady and the other ladies handled this very stressful time. Good for you! Please let your employees know that their kindness doesn’t go unnoticed.

In the 30 years I’ve been on the clinical side of medical care, this is the standard every practice strives to achieve. Online appointment scheduling and registration was seamless from my phone. Upon arrival, front desk personnel were kind and waiting area was clean & comfortable. Our clinician was more thorough and thoughtful than I’d ever expect for a simple sports physical. Truly above and beyond. Most grateful, and well done On Point Aurora.

We came in for a sports physical for our 7 yo son and it could not have gone better. From the sweet woman at the front desk being so welcoming and answering our questions, to Christi the MA taking his vitals and checking his eyes, to the PA James, it was a great visit from start to finish. We will definitely be back here.

What a wonderful experience we had. I took my son on Thursday and the treatment was superb, so much so that I booked his sports physical the next day and it was just as fabulous. Dr. Malik and the staff are professional and kind and warm. I will definitely go there again for my family urgent needs.

The staff was very helpful, but we were required to wear masks even though there is no mask mandate in our county. We were coming in for a quick sports physical, none of us were sick, therefore we had nothing to spread. I’m thankful we got what we went there for, but I will avoid going in again because we should not have to be forced to wear a device that hinders breathing.

The wait was a bit long but that is everywhere for walk-ins. I just went in for a sports physical my child needed and found out about hours before. I thank the staff for dealing with all they are dealing with(Covid, Flu, RSV, back to school and emergency care). They are heroes right now and I thank them very much.

I brought my daughter in for a sports physical and she was treated by a physician we have seen in the past. He is great everytime we have been in for something (ear infection, sport injury, etc...). He takes the time to explain and listen. He is very nice and puts my family at ease every visit.

The staff was super friendly, the doctor was energetic and happy even after such a long day and so many patients. It just was a long wait even with a scheduled appointment. Although we showed up an hour and a half early thinking it would help keep our place in line to no avail. We checked in online and it was very convenient. The sports physical was a flat fee and economical. I would recommend this location and will be back if needed.

I have had to use Summit for multiple reasons, from sports physicals to COVID testing, every single time I have been extremely pleased with the level of care!! The entire staff is friendly and welcoming. The nurses and physicians are very thorough and professional. They also have amazing bedside manner. I will continue to visit Summit for any needs that myself or my family may have!!

The 3 Kim’s are amazing! Took 2 kiddos for well child check/sports physical. They were so efficient and bed size manner was exceptional. Everyone made all of us feel valued. Everyone spoke to my kids like they were people. They listened and asked them questions. After searching for a place to take my girls in for sports physical exams, this place came through. Walked in and was immediately put on the walk in list. Came back at the time given. The gentleman at the front desk really knows how to interact with patients. Very nice guy. Then the doctor came in and she was down to earth cool. We had a really good laugh and my girls got their physical exams and went home happy. I recommend this site than the other sites.

Took my son in today as a walk in for a sport physical around 4:30pm but had to come back at 8:15pm. All was good with to staff and doctor. The only thing I would have to say is that although the waiting area and put rooms looked nice and clean. I kept seeing little net flies around my son even killed 2 of them around him. Maybe the trash isn't taken out every day and that's causing the flies...

School & Sports Physicals in Chelsea, MI

School sports physicals are exams used to determine whether teens can participate in sports during the school year. The exam is used by the school to make sure teens are healthy enough to participate in physical sports like basketball, football, soccer, and more. During the exam, your child will be asked about allergies, serious illnesses in the family, illnesses they had when they were younger, and any medicines they're taking. They'll also be asked about any past injuries, previous surgeries or hospitalizations, and whether they've ever had chest pain, passed out, felt dizzy, or had trouble breathing during exercise. Once the medical history is taken, the physical exam starts and the doctor will test their vision, record their height and weight, and take their blood pressure and pulse. They'll also evaluate their flexibility, joints, posture, and strength, as well as check their abdomen, lungs, heart, nose, ears, and throat.

A sports physical is important because it can help you discover and deal with any health problems that could interfere with your child's ability to participate in a sport. It's best to get your child's sports physical done as far in advance as possible before the season begins for the sport they want to participate in.

A sports physical can help you and your doctor decide whether or not it is safe for you or your child to participate in sports. Understanding what happens during a sports physical will assist you in preparing for your appointment and selecting the appropriate practitioner.

What is a sports physical?

The goal of a sports physical, according to the National Institutes of Health, is to identify any health conditions or concerns that could put you at risk for injury, illness, or death when engaging in sports (NIH). Most schools require students to have a sports physical before starting a new academic year or sports season.

According to Texas A&M University, a typical sports physical includes an in-depth discussion of your medical history as well as a physical examination. If your health is in good standing, your doctor will sign the necessary school documents, allowing you to continue participating in your sport of choice. According to the university, if your doctor suspects a medical condition, you may be encouraged to undergo more tests or wear special protective equipment such as a brace while engaging in sports.

Medical history

Your doctor will most likely enquire about your personal and family medical histories during a sports physical.

According to Texas A&M University, the most common family medical history questions revolve around a family history of heart disease and particular cardiac disorders including arrhythmia and Marfan syndrome. Your doctor might also ask if anyone in your family died of heart disease suddenly or young (before the age of 50).

Your doctor may question your personal medical history, such as whether you have asthma or other respiratory problems, headaches, a history of concussion, or if you've ever felt exhausted when exercising. According to Texas A&M University, your doctor may also ask if you've ever been diagnosed with a cardiac murmur.

The purpose of these discussions, according to the university, is to identify any potential health issues that may occur during or as a result of sports participation.

Physical examination

During the physical examination, your vital signs, eyesight, and hearing will all be tested. Heart and lung diseases are among the most common health concerns among doctors who provide sports physicals, according to Texas A&M University. Doctors also check for muscle and joint abnormalities and make sure you don't have any problems with your head, shoulders, back, or knees, according to the University.

According to the University, if you have a history of joint instability or twisted ankles, your doctor may recommend specific strengthening exercises or a change in diet if you are overweight. This is also an excellent time to speak with your doctor about strategies to improve your physical fitness before the start of the sports season.

Why is a sports physical important?

A sports physical is important because it teaches you how to avoid injuries while playing sports and how to conduct specific activities safely if you have a chronic medical condition, according to the National Library of Medicine (NLM).
According to the National Library of Medicine, a sports physical can determine whether you are in good condition, have any present ailments, or were born with any diseases that may increase your risk of injury. Your degree of physical fitness and body maturity are also assessed during a sports physical.

When and where should I go for a sports physical?

Texas A&M University recommends scheduling your sports physical four to eight weeks before the start of the season. This gives your doctor enough time to investigate and respond to any concerns you might have during your initial session. It also gives you more time to see a medical specialist if necessary for treatment of your condition or injury.

A sports physical can be combined with a wellness exam or a well-child visit, according to Texas A&M University. It goes on to add that in some situations, sports physicals can be done on campus at your child's school. Inquire with your doctor about getting a sports physical for yourself or your children.

What if there’s a problem?

If your doctor determines that you or your child has a health or medical concern that prevents you or your child from participating in sports, he or she may work with you to resolve the issue or refer you to a specialist who can. According to Texas A&M University, scheduling your sports physical four to eight weeks before the start of the season gives you adequate time to address and resolve concerns so you may continue with your sport.

Do I still have to get a regular physical?

A sports physical does not replace a regular physical or routine checkup, according to the National Library of Medicine. To be prepared for your appointment, ask your doctor when your next routine physical is due and what might be on the yearly physical exam checklist.

Who needs a sports physical?

According to the National Institutes of Health, schools usually require children and teens who want to participate in sports to have a sports physical before the start of the new school year or sports season. A sports physical may be beneficial if you participate in community sports and activities. Check with your doctor before engaging in any athletic activity to see if you or your child requires a sports physical.
