I was very put off by the fact you have to leave a credit card on file! I am very uncomfortable with doing that in this day and age! Receptionist honestly had no warmth… behind the desk personality and seemed robotic! NO other urgent care DEMANDS this… Back office was Amazing… X-ray tech awesome.. Alison PA(?) or dr. Was fantastic! Care great! On a side note I had trouble with the billing dept. when this was under another name! Not sure if the same person heads this up now but she was nasty! I will probably go to City Med as they have a much better system up front!

I made an appointment for a UTI. Checking in was quick. Nichole, who was very pleasant,  took my vitals and list of meds.  Dr Schreiber was terrific. She listened to my concerns and symptoms and prescribed an antibiotic that correlated with the urine sample. I wish Dr Schreiber was a full time doctor at this office as I would want her to be my internist.

Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

From the moment I walked into your facility I was greeted professionally, courteously , and kindly by Trish. When nurse Jasmine saw me she was also patient, kind and Caring. Jasmine had to take blood. She did a fabulous job! Jasmine was able to find my vein on her first attempt and did not hurt me. While swabbing my nose for the COVID test jasmine was extremely gentle. When Dr. Davis saw me he was fantastic ! Dr. Davis was patient, caring and extremely professional . He asked me many questions about my symptoms and how I was feeling. Dr. Davis checked my throughly. Dr. Davis explained what I was experiencing and made me feel very comforted. After I left your facility Dr. Davis called me as a follow up on when I should expect the results of my blood, urin test and my COVID test. Two days after my blood samples were taken Dr. Davis called me with my results. Again Dr. Davis reviewed my test results and explained each of my test results. I highly recommend using your facility and your staff! Respectfully a very satisfied patient

I have know Dan Murtha thru business networking, many years. He has always dine amazing work with overall operation. I got to witness that when I set up and had a COVID test. I called s few days ahead, to schedule. The lovely female staff member instructed me that if I fo online to register the day before (8am is when schedule is set up for next day) that I should be able to get 3 appts in together, without trouble. Wed, I had alittle difficulty registering my hubby. I called and spoke to Clinical staff member Erica. She assisted me with online registration. I was stressed with the idea that my hubby had been exposed to the virus, and myself and my mother in law also had to be tested. I wanted to make sure that all 3 of us were tested in 10 min time frames consecutively. Erica was compassionate to my needs, registering us from her end. I was able to fill out insurance from my phone easily. I liked how I was informed via text, and could check my wait time. I arrived 20 mins early, and did not have a long wait time. Outside of building looked clean and neat. Inside was decorated in relaxing neutral colors with a modern feel. Immaculate! Very large waiting area allowed seating to be properly spaced, and then some! Aliki Galandos took our info from car, called us to come in, and brought us back to complete testing. She was patient, answering all of our questions cheerfully. She explained process and allowed time for any other questions.(first time for all of us!). She explained timing of pcr test results, and how to retrieve them thru Lab Corp online. Excellent experience. We left extremely satisfied. I have always referred family and friends to this Urgent Care since I met Dan, and saw his passion regarding his extremely well run front end staff and clinical team. This week I got to witness the great care myself, and I was not disapointed!

I had to go for a Covid test in order to have a colonoscopy. I scheduled an appointment with Immediate Care in Hazlet, NJ. I heard a lot of horror stories about having that test performed and I have to say it kept me up the night before I had it done. But much to my surprise the woman who perform the test with Sonia and she was wonderful!!!! My appointment was for 8:10 AM and I was in my car driving home by 8:30. I would highly recommend Immediate Care of Hazlet.

I Used the Solv app to book my appointment and fill out the paperwork, they made it extremely easy. I went there to get Covid tested so I could go back to school and they were extremely efficient sanitary and timely. They answered all the questions I had thoroughly and we’re extremely friendly along with being helpful. I can honestly say I have been do if you walk in clinics and clinics like this and this one has been the best overall. I would recommend it to anyone and I will be continuing to go there whenever needed

I highly recommend this place to go when not feeling well or Covid testing needs to be done. The staff of doctors, nurses and even the receptionist are so kind and polite. The first time I came I had recently lost my daughter and her husband to Covid, so I came to get Covid tested and also because I was feeling terrible with a sinus infection and unexplained dizziness. Their compassion was overwhelming. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and vertigo, the doctor took her time to examine me and also explained how stress could add to the vertigo. Would I recommend this facility, I sure would ! The wait time was less than 15 minutes, I did not feel rushed at all and all attention was on me. So yes yes yes, if you can’t be seen by your primary care doctor, this is the place to go.

Sandra at the front desk went out of her way to allow me to get a rapid Covid test performed. The website was not updated and I had traveled a bit to go to that site. I was weepy due to another personal issue and I think she saw my distress. She was so quick and so kind to respond to that. I appreciate the care by the nurse and dr Granado as well. And the result time was more than rapid. Thank you for making a bright spot in a very difficult time. Would highly recommend this location.

I like this facility I even let a doctor I never met before cut me open here with great aftercare etc.. That being said I went for a COVID test and found they were letting multiple patients in the lobby virtually all wanting tests for exposure or symptoms. It makes me feel like I need a test just from getting a test lol.

we had actually visited your Wall location on Sat with our 6 year old Beau Spader for Covid testing. The person that assisted us never said who she was, her position etc. her bedside manner was severely lacking in care & concern and was not informative at all .......my son tested negative on the rapid so we had to request a PCR , she seemed annoyed that we requested this, our PCR came back positive ..... this prompted our next scheduled testing for the rest of our family. We decided to use the Hazlitt location .... What a drastic difference in care ...... The receptionist was immediately welcoming and processed us quickly. I had downloaded the App so most of our information was there. We were seen within 2 mins of arrival by C.Illvento who immediately introduced herself and her position and the care she would be providing. She was gentle , empathetic and caring to my sons and myself. I can’t say enough about this location and how kind and professional she was. The nurse that administered the test also did so with care..... thank you for taking such good care of my family. I wish my 6 year old experienced the same.

This is a great place to come for a Covid test. The staff are always friendly and the office and waiting room are always super clean. I did have a 4 pm appointment and could not understand how they took 3 walk in’s ahead of me. The only downfall.

Went for Covid test .. I waited less then a hour , for the test , results ,and to see a doctor . I thought the Doctor was wonderful. She took the time to go over my medical history . Also we discussed what medication would be best . All was a good experience. I would definitely recommend

I needed my handicapped daughter Covid tested so she could return to her group home. She was negative as we knew she would be. Trisha went above and beyond she was a lifesaver! Never lose her she’s wonderful and all of the other staff was great and friendly too. Thank you so much for EVERYTHING!

I went twice for a PCR test and a rapid Covid test to have before I went back to school when there was a Covid outbreak and before Thanksgiving day to keep my family safe since I only have one vaccination so far. I walked in both times and the wait time was 15 minutes to an hour which was amazing as a walk-in. Both times they came out with the rapid test within 15 to 20 minutes and my PCR test came back in less than 48 hours. All the staff is extremely friendly and answer to my questions as professional and well as possible. I highly recommend this place compared to other ones that my friends and family have told me about! Thank you to all the staff and the corporation running the place as well as possible!

I went to the facility for a cold and had to wait over 4 hours so to the amount of people being COVID tested . You should have this section off in 2 different categories at check in . People who are coming in sick should not have to wait hours to be seen. I understand the situation but some sort of separation should take place . Thanks you

I drove from Northern NJ for a rapid Covid test. I called numerous facilities in my area and was often met by rude or unhelpful staff. It was refreshing to arrive at Riverside where the staff were incredibly professional and friendly. Dr. Davis took time to answer my questions and helped make a stressful experience more manageable. All medical offices should have this culture especially in these difficult times where compassion and kindness are needed. Thank you again!!

2hr for 1 appointment is a little ridiculous for an injury or being sick and I had a 10am appointment Most patients were there for the covid test which did not need a doctor so I was a little confuse y I waited almost 1 hr to see the doctor

- Verified patient on 10/22

My doctor recommended that I go for a COVID test. Once I talked to Dr. Davis, he immediately doubted COVID and did a full work up to find out what was wrong. I greatly appreciate how thorough he was. My COVID test was negative, so I needed that extra work up.

Jasmine isn’t nice and she should definitely smile more. I had a setting on my phone selected that temporarily wouldn’t allow me to accept phone calls from unknown numbers. Twice (!!) she was nasty about me not being able to pick up the phone. Meanwhile I’m trying to turn off the setting, and she continued being rude. Last thing I want to deal with when I am waiting to be tested for an uncomfortable Covid test is a staff member acting the way she did.

Hazlet COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Hazlet?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Hazlet?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Hazlet-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Hazlet?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Hazlet including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Hazlet?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Hazlet-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Hazlet?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Hazlet are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Hazlet?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Hazlet?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
