Daughter and I were at the tail end of food poisoning and I had been too dizzy to drive, so the convenience of being able to have an appointment from our couch was much appreciated.  The health care provider was very caring and reassuring that we were doing the right things.  Short wait time was a plus.  I will definitely do again if need be.

This is the best urgent care I have been to. Unfortunately urgent cares are usually notorious for subpar healthcare, long wait times, and rude, unfriendly staff. I have been here a few times as a patient and brought my children in when we have had emergencies or on the weekends when we couldn’t get in with our normal doctors. This is the friendliest and most helpful staff.

OMG! Kayla(MA) was the Best! Very friendly and helpful and professional and friendly and private! Instead of asking why I’m there in front of others she had me to write it down! And my insurance copayments were wrong! She took her time to call to help me! Thank God! ANGELA (CNP) came right in and identified the problem, prescribe my meds! And ask me to let her know how I was doing afterwards!!!! I have been in Medina county for 25 years and have NEVER BEEN Treated WITH SO MUCH RESPECT!!! I Thank God that I went there! Better than my primary care doctor! I will go here before I made an appointment with my own Doctor!!! Thank you ladies SO MUCH!!!!!!

Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

The staff were doing the best they could with the number of people showing up. This is a really tough time not only for normal sickness but for covid testing. The waiting room was not set up for social distancing. It is cold outside. Should be an option to wait in car and come in when called. If they have this system in place, they should advise when an appointment is made online. Otherwise everyone was so sincere and helpful. Tip. At midnight 12:01 a.m. get your appointment made or you will not be able to walk in for an easy appointment. We did this and our wait time for our appointment was 45 minutes after our selected time. Really caring place. Have patience and be kind to these caregivers.

Had the COVID testing done and that shit was uncomfortable, not in a painful way but very irritating. My eyes was watering, my nose was burning, and my nostril was running afterwards and, it appeared to burn more coming out. I will do it again. After it was all done with; which; was less than 2 min. I forgot all about it being uncomfortable. It’s like having a baby. You hate the pain but, get pregnant again, and again because you forget about the pain. Or, maybe like a tattoo it hurts but you get more. All in all it was not horrible. Just uncomfortable. I thought the thing they put up your nose was going to be bigger than it was. Just relax if you can. It will be over quickly.

My primary physician insisted I get a covid test in order to schedule a follow up visit for a sinus infection. I scheduled the test online and it was an easy process. Today was my appointment. I checked in online and was promptly greeted by the receptionist. She took my information and within a short period of time I was escorted to a room and was given the covid test. Soon after a physician came in and informed as me I tested negative. I explained my sinus infection problem and the impact of the infection on my asthma. I was having breathing issues and we decided a steroid injection would help. We also reviewed the current antibiotic I was taking and she recommended I complete the course. She gave me the injection and had me stay a few minutes to be sure I had no reaction. Overall I was pleased I did not have to reschedule with my primary care physician and hopefully I will be more comfortable for the holidays. Very professional staff, thank you

n regards to pre-admission testing, the hip & knee class and the pre-admission COVID test everything went very smooth and the staff in all areas are very friendly, understanding and helpful. The only hiccup was that my PRE-admission COVID test was scheduled for 7:35 am at the North Olmsted facility. I highly recommend this location as opposed to do-it-yourself drive thru methods however, the facility needs to be more welcoming at this time of the day. A handful of patients were waiting in our cars and the website and facility doors indicate they open at 8am. The building appears closed! One woman went up to the south doors and they were locked, but fortunately ascended the stairs to the west/ handicapped entrance and entered. The rest of us then followed. There needs to be a COVID TESTING BY APPOINTMENT sign illuminated or lighting in the lobby to indicate the facility is open for those with an appointment. Once inside, the staff was also friendly and professional. So far the experience has been very positive. I hope my surgery goes just as well!

I had an appt at 10:52 upon arrival I called the designated phone number for Covid testing, was told I needed to go down the street to urgent care because the time I had they don’t schedule like that. I had a confirmation email from compu net at the place I arrived at I Beavercreek. I went to the urgent care place and was told they would have to charge me if I wanted to go there and do not schedule. I went back to Compu Net and called designated number and she again said I wasn’t scheduled. I read her my confirmation and she stated she had my order from the doctor but no appt. after a few chats back and forth, she would squeeze me in. I did get tested. But obviously something is wrong with the systems or employees are overwhelmed. The employee giving the test was very nice and we spoke of the issue. Not blaming her. If it is a system problem it must be fixed.

I had a COVID test today prior to a later outpatient procedure. The lady who scheduled me yesterday said the Beavercreek facility has very skilled testers, and I agree. I had heard the test is quite painful, but mine was quick, efficient, and only mildly uncomfortable, thanks to the technician’s skill. This is all the more amazing because I was seated beneath her line of sight in my driver’s seat as she stood by my car: she had limited vision and must have relied largely on touch, yet there was no painful probing or fumbling. Beyond that, she was friendly and reassuring. Thanks for an uneventful experience.

I loved everything about it! My only suggestion is with the online and checking in. It is not clear. I checked in online and watched the wait list. I waited an hour since it said they were backed up. I assumed I would get a text since I was getting COVID test I should not be in the waiting room. When I was one person away I went inside and realize I actually had to check in inside and my wait would not have been that long. They understood the misunderstanding and got me in fairly quickly. I have no complaints with the urgent care. Everybody was fabulous, clean and quick care!

Excellent experience here. We were able to get a same-day appointment for a Covid test and we were thrilled with how smoothly things went. The nurse practitioner, Ken (who was seriously amazing!), was responsive to questions leading up to the appointment, and he came out to our car to administer the test. He was attentive, thorough, and answered all questions. He also happened to be the nicest guy ever! Couldn’t be happier with both Ken and Integrative Wellness Center. Turns out it’s a new operation, but you wouldn’t know it based on the level of care provided. It’s a little hard to find, but both Google Maps and Apple Maps took us to the right spot (the parking lot is off a back alley that runs parallel to Broad St.). If you need a Covid test, this is a great spot to get one! (And I’m sure they offer other services, as well.)

I was having a Covid test done, my insurance company said they would pay 100% but I did not have a doctors order. No one told me I needed a doctors order till I got to Compunet. I wish The worker would have called my doctors office to get a verbal order for the test so I did not have to pay $65 but I did not think to ask for her to do that till my testing was done. I paid the $65 & said I would submit to insurance company. I think it would be nice for the worker to make that extra call that would take a few mins. & save the patient possible expense.

My wife and I needed to get Covid tests after a recent possible virus exposure and chose Premiere Urgent Care. Annie and Jill took care of us and I simply cannot commend them enough for their kindness, professionalism, compassion, and superb skill. Annie and Jill helped to not only ease our anxiety about possibly being exposed to the virus and the discomfort of the test itself, but were highly informative as well. Both were careful to administer the tests in the quickest and most gentle way possible. I am incredibly grateful to have such a phenomenal urgent care so close to home staffed with such amazing medical professionals.

I arrived two minutes befor my appt. for COVID test and checked in by phone. Said they’ed be out shortly. Waited 30 minute then saw staff member come out to car next me which had been there only a few minutes. Called them again and said sorry and came right out. They need a better way of making sure every one is being taken care of. I was sweating a lot in my car in the sun because I couldn’t run it 30 minutes to keep cool. I am not rich! By the time I got my COVID test finished I was very stressed!

After I was ordered a covid test before leaving I made an appointment around 11am and the first available appointment was at 3:18pm. I had a lot of time to kill even after stopping at Walmart to get vitamins they told me to take. Then I stopped by the pharmacy to get my prescription. I still had 3hours before my appointment. Not knowing how long the line would be I left & arrived at the testing center at 2:50pm. They told me it was fine that I was early. Now I wish I would have went hours earlier. It's not fun sitting in the car for hours killing time when you feel horrible. If only there is a way to get an earlier appointment when you actually have symptoms so you don't have to wait so long. Or a number to call to ask someone if they can see you sooner.

Positive.professional prefer this urgent care in Kent rather than an ER if I can avoid it. I was here at this facility in January when I came in for a sinus infection/ flu symptoms tested for covid 19. I was called the next day with positive results. Three days later couldn’t breath well so went by ambulance to Uhpmc admitted diagnosis covid spike pneumonia. University Hospital took great care of me. 7 days later , discharged.I survived covid pneumonia! I am so thankful for the staff here at urgent care Kent and Dr Christian Jones who had the knowledge and took time to ask questions and determined I needed that covid test. It prepared me for what to expect. Thank you !

Had to get a COVID test today for my hernia surgery coming up Monday, per the surgeon's office. They scheduled me with a Compunet office and told me where to be at 10:45 this morning. You pull into a parking space at the testing facility, then cll a phone number they gave you. The Compunet staff come out to your car and do it. Simple. Arrived at 10:35am. Made the call. Only one problem. Compunet couldn't do the test bc they didn't have the order. Called the DR office, asked for the Dr's nurse. Transferred to a recording. Left message, then called right back and talked to nurse that answered phone. They checked and found the office had not faxed the order to Compunet. They asked me what the FAX number was and I had to flag down one of the Compunet staff who gave it to them over the phone. Dr's office said they would send it right away. Time about ***. Time passed. Asked Compunet staff if they had the order yet. No, but they went ahead and gave me the paperwork to fill out so when the fax came in everything would be ready. No FAX showed up so I called the Dr's office at ***. While I was on the phone with them the FAX miraculously appeared and I got my test at ***. Will be soo glad when all this crap is over!

The staff were super nice. Everything works as quick as possible. They Came in and did a check of us after our Covid test. Told us what to do if we were still feeling bad in few days and give us some information to help my leg pain, swelling and hurting. I have been to other Urgent cares before and I really hated them and I said I would never go back to one so I was really leery about coming to this one to get my Covid test. But now I know there is a urgent care I can go to if I ever need to. Everything was super great people were friendly and I did feel comfortable there. So thank you so much for that.

For the Covid test, ladies was very nice, being my first time for test, she was very calming, explained very thing that she would be doing prior to the test For the blood draw, very warm and friendly. Took very little time. For ekg, again very nice, friendly and did not waste time. Facility, the Atrium Hospital, very clean. Overall, great experience, would not hesitate or question if I were asked to do this again. Thank you for such a pleasant and easy process. I would highly recommend this facility. Hardly no wait time. This was ordered by Dr.Kadakia, pre op. Don't know charge. Insurance.

Extremely easy to schedule online. Easy directions to facility. The technician conducting the covid test was so kind and compassionate. Gave me some instructions in case my test came back positive, which it did. Technician that called me with my results was also kind. Everyone who test positive probably has the same basic questions. It might be beneficial to direct these individuals to your website which would give helpful information as to some remedies to take and do while recovering. The shock of testing positive could be a little overwhelming and one does not listen or remember what is being said to them. Great experience. Job well done.

Great experience. I do want to mention that my daughter, for valid reasons, has needed several covid tests this past month. We would not overuse testing capability willingly, but she needed these due to 2 exposures to C+ people & a school requirement. On August 27th, a staff member named Steve spoke to her about “coming back so soon” and questioned her validity in needing the test. I don’t think this is appropriate given the times we are in. Again, we don’t WANT to come take these tests but circumstances dictate the necessity for them. I hope Steve can understand this and perhaps refrain from such comments in future.

Great experience. I went specifically for a rapid Covid test and drove from Gahanna because of the good reviews. I only waited for about 15 minutes after my appointment time and I was able to check in online and watch the wait list go down until I was next in line. They followed all of the protocols and when it was my turn, a nurse, who was very pleasant, asked me to pull around back. Once I was back there, another nurse came out to get me, she administered the test and I was done in 5 minutes. Very convenient and fast service (at least for the Covid testing process) and I would highly recommend this location. Thank you for making this already awful process a good experience.

Arrived for a covid test. Receptionist was very friendly. Entered room to have test. Gentleman sitting at table looked up at me and put gloves on. I took off mask and said does this go in my throat, response was “nose”. Swabbed both nostrils. I said are we finished, response “yes”. I said you don’t talk much , response “only if someone asks a question”. I said that’s not very good patient care. Response “silence”. Those were the only words spoken to me. I have not ever had a test where the person didn’t at least speak a few words to explain what he was going to do. Usually even “hi or hello, And a “I am going to swab your nose for the covid test and you are finished would have been something. Very poor reflection on UH care.

Lodi COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Lodi?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Lodi?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Lodi-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Lodi?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Lodi including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Lodi?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Lodi-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Lodi?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Lodi are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Lodi?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Lodi?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
