The reason I didnt give them a 5 is because the guy Kevin at front desk needs to learn to be friendly. Dont work at front desk if you do not want to deal with people and be friendly. He was very rude. The rest of the employees at this center are real friendly and helpful.

I was able to easily schedule my appointment online before leaving home. When I arrived the front desk let me know they were running 30 min behind the appointment schedule. I ended up waiting over an hour after my appointment time to be called from the waiting room. The triage nurse collected a covid/flu swab then put me in a room. The nurse practitioner walked in the room and told me my result and her plan. She didn’t seem to have any intent to touch me. I mentioned that my asthma also was also a concern. That finally prompted a physical exam. She offered me an asthma medication that is already on my home list, updated in triage. I don’t think this provider reviewed my medical history or medication list. I don’t think I would have gotten a physical exam if I hadn’t spoke up.

Got covid test really fast & easy! Nurse very nice @ informative.

- Verified patient on 1/7

I went for a Covid test and it was very fast and the staff was very friendly.

- Verified patient on 10/6

I had a diagnostic COVID test. All of the prescribing was handled by telephone from my car. I went to the back door and got the test which was not painful. I expected to wait for a long time as I was a walk in, however the whole thing took less than 30 minutes. 😍

- Verified patient on 12/23

Needed Covid test, staff took good care of me.

- Verified patient on 7/22

Arrived for a rapid Covid test that was for two scheduled appointments they were very busy which is understandable but we were more or less forgotten then the staff that came out to take the test was very rude and inconsiderate and unprofessional her name was America I was able to address this with the PA I have been a patient for years with quick urgent care today was the first time that I felt the disappointment that I felt we are in a pandemic and this staff did not seem compliant to change gloves without being requested to do so then got an attitude regarding it I was very polite and asked for my own health and the health of my family and friends as well as her health and the response I got was unacceptable when she told me that me and my co-worker were in the same vehicle for our Covid test which was her excuse for not changing her gloves before she was asked if she would be I told her that does not matter we are both patients I again was told sternly same vehicle when I asked for her name she gave it in a rude manner and then asked me my name which she already knew ha ha at least I was hoping so she just did my Covid test then went directly to do my coworkers Covid test I am still upset about this visit today publicly provided should I do I

- Verified patient on 12/28

Wasn’t informed that I would be charged a doctors visit for a covid test. I was charged 55.00 for them to do the test and vitals and see a np for 1 min. This is wrong there should be a notice that you app are a private company and charge an office visit fee to get a covid test. Will never go back. Front desk staff were rude and snotty.

- Verified patient on 9/28

I work in healthcare and I feel the front desk person should ask more questions when people are coming for COVID testing, explain the process, explain which test are covered and which are not, my daughter was swabbed twice for no reason. When back in the room after waiting for over an hour pass our scheduled appointment to be seen, the nurse asked if we wanted rapid or pcr, I told her I would like both, if insurance would cover both, she said ok, let me go check, she came back in less than a minute with a rapid swab and simply stated that we just need to run the rapid test first the the pcr, leaving me under the assumption that insurance would cover both, also she assumed we have soonercare, which we do not, after she swabbed my daughter for the rapid test she said they would Inform of us the results in 15 minutes, a few minutes later we saw the provider , who was professional and apologized for our long wait and answered what questions we had, then a different came in and swabbed my daughter for the pcr, when I asked about the results of the rapid test, she ignored my question and just said we will contact with results in two to three days and if you haven’t heard from us in five days to call the facility, I asked about the rapid results again and she said wr will call u, at the front desk for check out I asked again about the rapid results and the front desk she said the rapid test was probably canceled because insurances want cover both l, I just don’t wish someone would have just said that firm the beginning, as I stated I work in healthcare as nurse and I understand these things and I also understand the importance of being honest with your patients and gaining their trust because it’s what keeps them coming back, my appointment was Tuesday it’s now Friday and I haven’t heard anything regarding the results of her COVID test!

- Verified patient on 11/19

They did awesome they was friendly specially the nurse that took his vitals she was so warming made my son feel ok specially when my son doesn't like taking a covid test

- Verified patient on 9/9

Was here for Covid test. Received bad info from customer service. They said there was no where to get a rapid covid-19 test within a hundred miles of my location. But when I called back and pressed in they found out that there were tests over at the Midwest City office and I just had to be there early. It would be nice if you tell people the truth

- Verified patient on 1/6

They were very very professional and very very efficient. I just went in for a Covid test and I got a 21 point check up. Was very very impressed with the service. Would highly recommend them

- Verified patient on 9/19

Finally found a same day appt for Covid testing after exposure. Staff was amazing and provided accurate information.

- Verified patient on 1/3

We never even had to come inside for the COVID tests. It was very nice to find out since 2 of my kids did have some symptoms that they were able to get the rapid test.

- Verified patient on 9/30

Thanks for being quick and fast with the Covid test ♥️

- Verified patient on 10/11

Taken right in. Covid test administered immediately. Friendly staff. I have been using facility for years

- Verified patient on 1/20

I usually come here for something minor. The nurse did a wonderful job of asking some questions and getting me in. The provider was friendly, however she never asked any questions or performed a full exam. She just listed to my chest and looked at my throat. Again no questions were asked about my symptoms. I was also prescribed meds but was told not to full the script unless I felt worse ina couple of days. I found that kind of odd considering there was nothing else mentioned from the provider during the visit. Wasn’t the worst service but definitely under par. I did not feel as if I was medically assessed by the provider as I should have been considering I had been sick for several day prior and the COVID test was negative . I will most likely return but would appreciate more communication from the provider to understand fully what is going on with my health

- Verified patient on 2/16

Quick easy curb side COVID test

Went in for Covid test, was treated with the utmost respect and kindness, everyone was so friendly and helpful, pleasant experience

Midwest City COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Midwest City?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Midwest City?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Midwest City-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Midwest City?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Midwest City including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Midwest City?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Midwest City-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Midwest City?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Midwest City are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Midwest City?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Midwest City?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
