Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

This was our second time coming to Rapicare for Covid tests needed to travel to the Maldives this weekend. Alyssa met us in the parking lot as soon as we pulled in, took our information, and went inside for the testing supplies. She’s super friendly and efficient! All four of us received our tests in less than 10 minutes, and results came back later that evening. By far, this is the quickest turnaround time for PCR testing. The lab reports were emailed this morning when promised. All in all, I’m highly satisfied with the care we’ve received from Rapicare. Highly recommend for anyone needing a test for international travel.

Fantastic experience. From the intake, setting the appointment, telemedicine visit, to being tested for Covid-19, everyone was friendly, efficient and kind. I made initial contact at 10am, and by noon I had completed a telemedicine visit, gotten my prescriptions and had a Covid test in the parking lot. This urgent care experience was far different from any other, and though it’s a bit of a drive, I will continue receiving services here. I’m shocked at how quickly the whole process was.

The reservation process and site location needs to be improved. When I booked the reservation, I never received a confirmation email. When I called the telephone number to confirm my appointment, there was no record of me making the appointment on line, however 1/2 the info I provided via online registration was in the record. Why only 1/2?? The person on the telephone line was EXTREMELY helpful! She called the site staff, kept me on the telephone line and gave me real-time updates until we could straighten it all out. Your system needs to confirm immediately once registration is complete. If I hadn’t called ( as a senior citizen, I had to arrange travel to your site with my daughter) we May have been turned away. That would have been a major problem for us. Thankfully, your attentive staff were able to accommodate us. The other suggestion is better signage and direction at your Ardmore site. We looked around for 20 min and had to ask the nearby fire Dept for directions. The address you have on the website doesn’t exist on Google Maps or Waze ( GPS). You should have a portable sign on Lancaster Ave or tell people the location is at back of IHOP parking lot and in between post office location. A number of patients were heard complaining about location/poor signage & directions. Otherwise, I commend the county and providers there for responding in such a responsible manner to the Covid testing needs of county residents. Well done, and THANK YOU!

The process was very smooth, but they counted to 15 too quickly, and only equalled about 10 seconds instead of 15 seconds in each nostril. Perhaps having a countdown timer to keep official time? I dont know if that will alter the actual results of the test. A family member took a covid test at a cvs and they used an actual timer. That was why I rated the quality of care as 4 stars instead of 5. But otherwise, I was very pleasantly surprised how smoothly it went. Still would prefer waiting in a car until my turn came up. Especially since the weather is getting colder. Staff at Lansdale were very friendly and polite. (And patient!)

This was for COVID Testing for my daughter. All went fine with the testing but there was poor communication provided to her on how to access the results. The phone # we provided was mine. When I texted the 5 digit code to inquire about results there was no response. We didn’t receive any email alerts. I finally called Mako. The woman who answered the phone at Mako was not very helpful either. Finally we figured out that my daughter’s login process hadn’t been set up right, but like I said this all could have been better communicated and the woman at Mako could have looked up the records for us or walked us through access steps.

First let me say that I think the staff was all The above, friendly, fast and the wait time was to be expected! Two things that bothered me: 1. There is a sign at the door that says if you want a Covid test you could come in and get it now! That’s not true! 2. There was suppose to be a teleconference call that was scheduled but it was a phone call! 20 minutes later than scheduled. Other than that every thing was fine. Easy fixes!!

We knelt at an open window for a COVID test to be administered. All went smoothly. An improvement would be to text us results no matter the outcome since you text with reminders and survey. Calling with positive results is wise to offer support, but a formal notification of negative would be ideal too - and support could still be offered for those with questions. Also, it would be better to have the effectiveness percentage of the tests posted online, at sign up, or at the time of testing.

The Covid test in my car was on time, efficient, friendly, and quick. We received our results in hours. I made an error with how i wrote down our names as it didn’t meet the requirements of the country we are visiting. The staff who helped me correct this problem were wonderful and prevented me from freaking out even more. It was over New Year weekend which made it even nicer. Hint: if you need your middle name on the results, combine your first name with middle name to make one name.

The setup was outside with two different windows. The staff was kind and caring. My only suggestions would be to label above the windows so that the staff wouldn't have to keep telling every person who tries to queue that they have to go to the window on the right to check in first, and then queue in the line approaching the window on the left. The site is next to a noisy street, and it has to be hard on their voices constantly repeating that. Also wonder if the queue line could be rearranged so that patients don't have to walk *back* through the check-in line to get in the testing line, thereby walking past others in the check-in line and making the distancing not matter. Otherwise, very grateful that a friend found this site. Wondering if it could somehow be search-engine optimized so that it comes up under "Covid testing near me." We found it three days later after hearing of a possible brief exposure to a person who tested positive. Only CVS and Walgreens kept coming up in search, and their times were all full.

Dr. A listened carefully when i explained my history and symptoms. He straight to the point and prescribed me the medicines. I went in and out for only 15 minutes + 15 minutes rapid test. I think their policy is fair. If the covid test result came out positive we can’t see the doctor and we just paid for the rapid test out of our pocket for $109.00. If it is negative then we can see the doctor and pay the fee. Thanks.

I have directed several people to the Montgomery County Covid testing sites. I feel that the the directions for self testing and the accuracy of this testing along with timely notification of the respults c cannot be beat. I am a nurse and am very picky about where I'd send people for a PCR test. I explain that the test is like a blood pressure- at the time of the test you tested negative/positive. A negative test does not mean to stop precautions. It's just one tool in the toolbox. I monitor the science and accuracy and this is the best hands down. The staff is wonderful and the facilities who give up space for the county testing sites are angels.

We had an excellent first experience. Staff and doctor were absolutely fantastic, friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable, and made us feel very well cared for. The examiner was fast and efficient, still approachable and kind. The place is easy to find. Reception area was set up with 2 check in terminals, spaced far away. Everywhere were filled(!) hand sanitizing stations for us to use as needed. We were allowed to wait in the car, and the wait was short. We needed a strep throat and covid Test on a Saturday fur our child. While Children’s hospital of Philadelphia denied us an appointment, as they only accept preregistration during weekdays, Pmpediatrics offered appointments online without problems. This was our first visit and we are very thankful for them taking us in right away!

Absolute best place to go for covid testing. Free is a big perk but on top of that it is super fast and they have the fastest turn around time. CVS and Walgreens are a joke compared to the pottstown Montgomery county testing site. Easy same day testing no need to book 48-72 hours in advance and the longest we have ever waited is 20 minutes and that was with a long line right after the holidays. Other places we know we will have to wait at least 45 minutes and it will take at least 5-10 minutes just for paperwork. Whoever is running and organizing this site way to go! You are awesome!

Great experience! We was rushing to get test done for work called a million places and check a million sites for the rapid version of covid test. Thanks be to God came across this site! scheduling the test was a breeze and the Alyssa (staff) 🙏🏻😩 we explained to her our situation (we was SUPER ANXIOUS not knowing if we would get results in time for work) she told us “don’t worry you’ll have it in 5 mins” and just that she came out with results! She was very gentle with us we could feel the warmth of her heart in her eyes it gave us a sense of ease! All around GREAT experience! We def recommend! You Guys Rock!

The waiting was excessive, over an hour , my device ran out of charge & needed to log on again on another device. At that point I was taken immediately and only saw the forehead of the person I was speaking with. This is very odd. Honestly I do not know if I would recommend because of this fact, not the wait. Also I had a covid test in August & was told it was covered under the care Act but my insurance was charged.

Needed a covid test for travel. This place was the only one I could find that allowed me to make an appointment and guaranteed results in 24 hours. Waited in my car for less than a minute before a very bubbly and friendly employee greeted me. Process took 5 mins. It was so simple, I initially questioned the authenticity of it. I received my results in less than 24 hours and was able to board my plane! Highly recommend! It was worth the hour drive to this location. Will be using again for upcoming travel and have already recommended to others traveling!!

Outdoor Montgomery County Covid testing site was very efficient. Easy to schedule an appointment and register online, next day appointments every 2 minutes so lots of availability, clear instructions, adequate parking and testing is outdoors so it is safe. You park, walk up to check in, get your swab, step aside for a self administered nasal swab, return the swab for processing and leave with instructions for what to do while waiting for test results, which will be available to in 2 - 3 days via text. Thank you to the Montgomery County Health Department for such an efficient system.

This is the third time I am using the service and it is superb. Very organized, easy to register for the same day service, staff is patient and friendly while complying with all the guidelines. Most of the people coming to a COVID test site are somewhat stressed and it is nice to see friendly smiles and hear encouraging and calming voices of the staff members working there. My experience is quite different from stories I hear from my coworkers undergoing testing at different sites. I am truly grateful for the service provided.

This was just a telemedicine visit with Dr. Dang. I am scheduled for Covid rapid test tomorrow because I have cold symptoms. When I called AFC they were quick to advise how to get a Covid test asap. Their instructions for a telemedicine visit and scheduling the test were very good. I have been to AFC a few times and have always been more than satisfied with treatment there and have always felt like I was in good hands. Dr. Dang is an excellent Provider, with a wonderful bedside manner and he is very professional. If I wasn’t already more than satisfied with my primary care doctor, I would try to have Dr. Dang as my PCP😊

Wellersburg COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Wellersburg?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Wellersburg?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Wellersburg-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Wellersburg?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Wellersburg including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Wellersburg?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Wellersburg-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Wellersburg?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Wellersburg are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Wellersburg?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Wellersburg?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
