VA referred us to this clinic. The name and phone number had changed, but I knew where the clinic was located. The check in process was not familiar to me, but the lady at front desk guided me through it. The nurse and FNP were professional . I had a test for Covid and flu and was told to go to Flynn Radiology for chest X-ray. Told not to ho yo Germantown clinic because was too busy. Referred to clinic in Mt Moriah. We left with no result from flu snd Covid test. Got to Mt Moriah clinic and were told they do not accept VA. (I had asked FNP if the VA was ok with that clinic and he said yes). After what was to us wasted time, I went to the VA hospital ER and was treated very well. That’s where I will go in the future if the need arises. I was just hoping to find a convenient, good care facility that accepted me as a 100% disabled veteran. I guess this place wasn’t it. It may work well for someone else, but sadly not for me.

Fast Pace Health in Oakland is absolutely outstanding! Thought I had COVID symptoms as I had a VERY hard time breathing so I just walked in. Wait time was very short for a walk in. All personnel were very professional and extremely helpful. Went over and above what I expected. Tested negative for COVID but they ran several other tests to help diagnose my breathing problem. Normally I don’t give high reviews but they were outstanding in every way. Would most definitely highly recommend this health care facility.

My name is Christina Joyner I am the owner and the nurse practitioner at Marshall Urgemt Care. I wanted to write-in response to lady that stated her daughter was turned away. First, I am truly sorry that you were disrespected in any form or fashion by any of my staff. If I knew who it was, I can promise you it would be addressed. Disrespect on any level is not tolerated. Second, I'm so truly sorry your precious daughter was turned away. I am normally the only practitioner in the office. I see as many patients as I possibly can. I do have to turn people away, but it's because I just can't see them all. I do not have a limit of 30 a day. I don't feel that is right. So my mission and goal everyday is to see as many as I can and still provide thorough and adequate care without putting anyone at risk. I struggle every day with turning people away because I'm not in it for the money. If I was, I would take everybody and see them and not worry about providing adequate and thorough care. I am very sympathetic with having a sick child. I pray your daughter got the care she needed. If you would like to talk to me, please please call me. The office number is 662-274-3218 My email is [email protected] I really hope you reach out to me because I want you to understand who I am, the care I provide and the love and passion I have for taking care of everyone that I possibly can. Best regards, Tina Joyner

Hands down one of my favorite pop-in clinics! The staff is exceptional from the front desk to the provider. I love how personable the women of the office are! I am greeted by name everytime I walk-in! The receptionist even asks about my family from previous conversations I've had with her! Makes me feel at home. Jennifer Dunn is the best provider ever! I feel like she is a best friend in a way! This office and entire staff truly care here. I highly recommend them.

I went in not knowing what was wrong, but felt like I was dying. The hospital was slammed with people having the flu, but they got me in fast and checked me out. I ended up in ICU having surgery and on heavy IV antibiotics because I had a kidney infection that went septic. They released me 2 days before Christmas luckily, so I could be home with my 4 children. The care and beside manner was excellent. Thank you for saving my life and getting me back home with my children.

Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

I visited for COVID testing and was quick and easy all process had done. One thing I was not comfortable was I had to hand over my driver license, insurance card, and credit card and asked to leave the office until they text me back to the back door. I had to wait for over 10 minutes at the parking lot without my ID and cards. I scanned my insurance card prior to this visit to save checking in time. I wanted card process should be done in front of the customer.

I have an appointment at 9:30 am for a Covid test I arrived at 9:30 and had already done all my paperwork and check in online. However I had to wait until 10:30 am before I could be seen. even though I was just there for a Covid test… I was treated as if I was a new patient with a medical need. I didn’t understand that until I saw my bill which was $$120. I knew the Covid test would not be free but did not expect… And was not told upfront… That I would be paying for the full service of the facility as opposed to just a test.

My appointment was at 9:30am and I wasn’t seen until 11:30am. Everyone locally that I talk to has had to wait over two hours even with appointments. I understand that they may be more busy with COVID testing but I was there not for COVID and I don’t think regularly being seen two hours after an appointment time is acceptable. If that’s the case, then don’t make so many appointment slots available or allow people to go home and text them 15 minutes before they’re actually ready to be seen by the doctor and next in line.

I have a wonderful PC in Knoxville but was at my daughters 2 mi from Sevierville TN AFC. I have used them several times as well as the one in Fountain City AFC. They never disappoint & I received excellent care from the time I walk in the door. I usually make an appointment ahead to shorten waiting & fill out the paperwork online. The MA that checked me in as well as the doctor were very thorough. I was quite sick with a respiratory COPD flare up & prescribed proper meds. You WILL receive excellent care. I was in & out in one hour & that included results of flu, strept & COVID tests. Try to remember if you do have to wait they are humans & sometimes they have staff out sick too.

I called to see about a covid test. I appreciated the fact that they had a nurse pre-qualify and then scheduled that day. I think the process was very easy. The only question I have is that I got my results from my covidbtest back but I have not seen the results from my flu test. I wish that it was a little bit easier to see on the patient portal. It has now been 22 hours and when I look at the lab results there is nothing there. I do see the covid results under the medical records but nothing about the flu.

My family was given conflicting information each day we went in. I had an appt first and was told my insurance covered the rapid test. When i arrived, i was told it did not. They said i could pay extra for the rapid test and i verified i could do that for my daughter the next day. My husband took my daughter the next day and was given all kinds of different info regarding our insurance and refused to do the rapid COVID test saying we didnt even have the option to pay. This is not the first time this clinic has given us an informational run around. This is especially frustrating during COVID since we need these tests for work and school.

I chose this location because they were supposed to have rapid result Covid tests. And they did! I had an appt and it still took a while to be seen, but there was a steady flow of people the whole time. Everyone I encountered was very nice and helpful. The person that administered my test was named Gary or Greg and he was fabulous! Very friendly and helpful. I was nervous about the nasal swab and he made it a piece of cake. The doctor was also nice and helpful. It’s a stressful situation getting a Covid test given what it is...everyone there made me comfortable and glad that I made the trip from Knoxville. Best of all...I was negative!

The nurse that saw me and my doctor where very nice and professional. That being said the nurse that came to do my flu and covid test was not. First the two nose test that she administered where rough and done just at the very end of my nose not in the noise. Every covid test and flu test I have had in the past where up the nose. Second she was rough with the test and did not have a good bedside manner. My daughter was in the room beside me and when she was done I was informed by her that her nurse was mean to her and administered her test the same way.

I have been extremely sick for four days now and I have been here several times and I always had a great experience but this time they did not offer to take my temperature or check my oxygen all they did was take my blood pressure The doctor did listen to my breathing and then they give me a shot and the doctor told me he was going to give me some medicine they did not do an x-ray on my chest which is extremely congested and feels like I have a horse on top of me it was late when I got there and I understand they were tired and ready to go home but still yet when a sick person comes in you would think they would take care of them as they would if it was in the morning. I was very disappointed and I am still very sick and will probably end up having to go to the hospital maybe that’s where I should’ve went to begin with but I will not use Sevierville Hospital so I have to go to Knoxville and I have no energy and really don’t know that I want to make that drive by myself. I know you can call an ambulance but I don’t feel like this is an emergency but if my breathing does not get better maybe it will be. I just feel like they could have done more as far as check me out instead of just giving me a shot and a Z pack and prednisone and sent me home. I really just feel like they should’ve checked my oxygen they should’ve checked my temperature and they should’ve at least done a chest x-ray I was just very disappointed this time. I recommend them because it is always been a good place but I’m trying to just make it out as the fact that they close at eight and I got there at seven so they were ready to go home. I tested negative for Covid but not that I want that Q-tip shoved up in my nose but I really don’t think they are testing right because it just barely went up in my nose. I feel like they should do a different type of Covid test if they don’t know how to put the Q-tip in the nasal and actually get a good swab. Just makes me wonder do I have Covid and have I exposed others so I am being very safe at home and staying away from everyone because I am so sick I have no energy and I really can’t drive right now. And I don’t really have anyone to help me because everyone has a life and it’s kind of hard to ask them to stop what they’re doing to take me to the doctor that may take hours you never know. I just thought that urgent care was my best bet because it has always been in the past this time I really just feel like they were done with the day and wanted out of there. If I’m not better in a few days I’m going to have to go to the hospital and I don’t want to. Then I will be exposed to all those germs that has been brought in there. I have a very low immune system and catch everything and anything so I’m scared to go to the hospital but at the same time if I get worse or do not get better I’m going to have to when I really feel like the urgent care could’ve helped me better than they did.

The dark-haired lady that called me on the phone once I was in the room to ask me questions and also did my flu and Covid swab was very rude. She cut me off multiple times while I was trying to answer her questions. She also said to me, “why didn’t you go back to your primary care for your repeat Covid test?” with a hateful tone. I actually went to the same place for my first Covid test that was negative. I was also told that I would be quarantined no matter the results of my tests so it didn’t matter what I did... also not true. She was not friendly at all and I was sure to let the PA know about her and her manner before I left.

The MA or nurse (not sure) who did my covid test was incredible and super friendly. Working in healthcare I see a lot of people get stuck in the rut of patient after patient, but she was so upbeat and happy and made me have such a comfortable experience. The male NP who came in was equally as amazing. Not having the covid vaccine has made me feel a bit judged in other medical settings (I’ve had covid and have a high antibody count) but I felt no judgement from this NP. He explained things in the best manner and made me feel completely at ease. A true healthcare professional! So happy with this visit!

Made appointment online last night for 12:45 pm on 10/29/*** for a covid test for work purposes. I arrived 10 minutes early as stated , and waited in my vehicle for 1 hour and 27 minutes before i was able to be seen by a nurse , who administered the test and took vitals , and asked questions , he was very respectful and took his work serious , then he stated the doctor would be in soon to look me over , i waited almost another hour , 47-55 minutes for the doctor to come into the room , i walked out to the nurses station once , and spoke with my nurse to inform him, i had 30 minutes before i had to leave and get my children. He said she wouldn't be much longer i needed to wait , so i did and she came in about 20 minutes after that conversation, they were very friendly , she apologized for the extremely long wait time , and was very sincere and kind , i jokingly said they making you work through lunch and she sadly informed me that she hadn't gotten to eat lunch and it was 3:15pm . I hope you actually read this and possibly give your valued and extremely amazing workers a easier way to take their breaks when your establishment is packed , they deserve a few moments to breathe and eat as well , other than the long wait they made me very comfortable . And i am satisfied with their professionalism in hectic work days .

Reception and medical staff were wonderful. I was turned away from other clinics in town who said I could only get a Covid test if I went through their online site, where there were no appts avail! I got right in with you and finally found out I had Covid. I was just so glad to know after days of trying to find out. I will always go here in the future. I’m incredibly grateful. A bonus was not having lengthy paperwork as all my information was in the system from having gone to the clinic across town earlier this year. Thank you!

After a less than stellar attempted curbside Covid test at AFC and waiting for over 45 minutes with an appointment only to be told after waiting that we had to have a doctor visit for simple testing and it would be even longer so we opted to leave We went to Physician’s Care and so glad we did, from the initial phone call to the actual swab test (truly curbside) we were very please and the whole process took less than 45 minutes (we did not have an appointment... a friend also came after we arrived and was done in less than thirty minutes with no appointment) Jonathan Drumm was the CFNP that did the swab test and could not have been any nicer and more informative about everything - he actually made a Covid nasal swab very bearable !

I was a sick walk in today, arrived and checked in at 915am and was there close to 4 hours! As I requested a covid test, I was asked to wait in my car and waited there for 2 hours. The provider, Dr. Campbell, spent all of 5 mins with me, ordered a CXR, had that done and waited some more. By the time I chose to leave, I had been there 3 hrs and 45 mins! I've been to the clinic before and never had to wait like this. When you're sick, waiting almost 4 hours feels like an eternity. I feel bad for the provider and staff to be that booked up and overloaded. They need additional hands, MA's and providers! Such a shame, but don't think I'll ever walk in again. Apparently, I should have made an appointment even though it's an urgent care walk in clinic.

I have been to this AFC location multiple times (for COVID and non-Covid issues) and have been pleased with my treatment every time! My latest visit was for a Covid test and I knew there would be a long wait. I was informed of my wait time when I arrived, was sent an wait-time update text during my wait and actually got in quicker than anticipated! I truly appreciate this clinic and their staff ( ESPECIALLY DAVID AND JANET)! Janet and David never rushed me while I discussed my symptoms/lack of symptoms, expressed my concerns and answered ALL of my questions during my visit! I can not imagine the stress that health care workers are going through right now (and all throughout the ongoing COVID pandemic), but greatly appreciate the professionalism, caring and friendliness shown by all the members of the Chapman Hwy AFC clinic staff! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!🥰

Had a great experience and will definitely recommend Urgent Care. The nicest staff and very professional. Quick and painless covid testing! The only thing I would suggest is not making patients come I side to sign in, because I made an appt for 4:00 and signed in, but then as I was waiting in my car I noticed my new scheduled time got moved to 7:45. Fortunately I live close and could run home until closer to that time. But it would save people 2 trips if scheduled appts were kept for the same time, or if we could sign in online instead of in person. Thanks!

I made an appointment online for a Covid test. This was an easy process and even allowed you to go ahead and fill out paperwork. My wait time was about 45 minutes, but they did tell you your appointment time was when you essentially got in line/reserved time, not necessarily when you’d see the doctor. Plus, this is a time when cases of Covid are exploding and they have rapid testing there - so they are busy. The entire staff was very nice and helpful. I had a strep test done as well (tested positive) and the nurse who took the sample told me to take a deep breath through my mouth and hold it when she swabbed me. It surprisingly made the experience easier. I would recommend going here.

- Verified patient on 11/24

I went online to book an appointment for covid test and thank goodness there was an opening on the same day. I arrived 30 minutes prior to appointment but it says online 15. A nurse came out and visited with the vehicle next to me 10 minutes after I got there because they were already there and then she came right over to ask me why am I here and do I have an appointment? I explained and told her yes. I gave her my info and was only there for 30 minutes. It was easy, fast, and Dr. Mahan was sooo kind and very informative of what I had mentioned to her. I would definitely recommend this place. By the way, this was the 2nd time that I came because the first visit in August was so efficient. Great people.

- Verified patient on 10/3

It was fine. I was in and out quickly. I wish they would stick to the covid precautions. There are signs on the door that said masks must be worn. I know they’re also only allowed to let 3 people in at a time. When I got there a group of 5 unvaccinated women were there (they were talking about it). They were there just to get Covid tests to go to a concert. Only one of them was wearing a mask. It was super frustrating because responsible people are doing what they can to stop spreading covid but when we need medical care we’re still being exposed to people that won’t even wear a mask. This seems unacceptable in a medical facility.

Moscow COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Moscow?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Moscow?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Moscow-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Moscow?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Moscow including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Moscow?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Moscow-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Moscow?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Moscow are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Moscow?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Moscow?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
