Friendly Staff

Making an appointment was easy. Check-in is very fast and convenient. Staff at the front desk & nurse were very friendly and they answered all questions. However the Doctor wasn’t very empathetic nor did she give me solid advice. She seemed annoyed to be dealing with me and seemed to be convincing me to leave instead of do the blood work I wanted to do & it made me uncomfortable so I left.

Got a text that I was ready to be seen so I came to the clinic but then waited an hour to be seen. They refused to do most accurate testing (vaginal swab for gonorrhea and chlamydia testing in women… they said urine was the only option which is not standard of care for women and has many false negatives). No clinic has ever refused to do GC/CM swab for testing. Just so odd to me. They seemed agitated that I even asked. I’m an ER PA with 10 years experience who tests others for STIs all the time, so why would they not practice evidence-based medicine at AFC?

I had a raging sore throat over the weekend resulting in cold symptoms but felt overly tired. I was concerned that I might have strep throat. I was able to make an appointment. I was seen within 30 minutes of my appointment time.

Joshua was very sweet, professional and calm. It obviously is not something that people want to come in and get done, but he made it simple and calm. He also was the one to give me the phone call with the results. He was very professional on the phone as well and was quite pleasant. In a situation that can be super unnerving as a Covid-19 test, he made it as easy, calm, and painless as possible.

I been here back to back for a Covid test. The first time (evening) I wasn't sure if I was able to get a test as a walk in. I was able to get one done within the hour! I scheduled another slot the next day and they were able to get me in and out within 45mins. Best part, I thought I needed to pay however, they were able to confirmed that my insurance would be able to cover it. Best news in my life!! They're in the sports world..#clutch

I just showed up to facility with my son that had to get tested for school for his runny nose and considering the fact that an appointment is necessary the staff truly was very helpful. The whole process was quick and easy.

The individual who facilitated our test was a joy to work with. I can’t remember his name but he has a son named Anekin and was a big Star Wars fan had the best customer service I have received in a very long time

Great, personable staff. They gave me my negative (good) test result, I offered them a fist bump and they denied it because they didn’t have gloves on. That’s sticking to their job, and I admired that! I went somewhere else that charged a lot more for a rapid test, and these guys were WAY better. I would come here again.

It was a car visit to get my covid test. I had an appointment and it was done with in 15 minutes of appointment time. It was easy to get a hold of people to figure out what I needed to do :)

- Verified patient on 7/20

Was excellent and expeditious. Emailing of results was delayed. Apparently you ask for them after you receive results on phone even though you provided email to receive results before test was taken.

My experience was good except people who were parked for Covid test did not stay in the car 🚗 they walked right into the waiting room! That is not acceptable! You need to monitor the testing parking ! Omg

This was my second time coming here and it was great! The whole booking process was easy. Did everything online and once I got there I just checked in in my car and the nurse came up to the window to give me the test. Got a call about 30 mins later to give me results. Would definitely recommend!

I came in today for a rapid Covid test. The wait time was appropriate, and the provider was super friendly. As promised my results came back in less than one hour. I feel like $150 is a little bit steep but I guess in this case it is worth the peace of mind. This encounter was efficient, and effective. To put it another way it was so, NOT Kaiser Permanente. Keep up the great work!

El Cajon Lab Tests

Lab tests take samples of your blood, urine, saliva, and other bodily secretions, which are then analyzed in a lab to help doctors diagnose and treat certain illnesses. Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. They can also be used to monitor the progression of a disease or a set of diseases.

If your doctor is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of your disease, or if you are having a variety of symptoms that could indicate a variety of disorders, he or she may request a lab test. To see how you're responding to a drug or to check if you're at risk for certain diseases, lab tests may be performed.

Some lab tests require no preparation at all, while others may require you to fast for eight to twelve hours before the test in order to avoid erroneous results from certain meals and beverages. Your healthcare provider may advise you to cease smoking, exercising, and taking certain medications and nutritional supplements for many hours or days before your blood test.

Before your lab test, ask your doctor for precise instructions to follow to minimize erroneous results and multiple trips to the lab for additional testing. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
