Short Wait Time

I was visiting my son and his family and became sick after babysitting my sick grandchild. I knew my body was telling me to see a doctor so I visited the American Family Care. The best move I made. Everyone in the office, from the receptionist to the Vanessa, John, and the Dr. Alexa were so warm and caring. I was in and out in half hour, and that was with a short staff I highly recommend this provider.

I have been to this location many times over the past few years and my experiences have always been positive.  There is rarely a wait, it is always clean and the entire staff is great. I visited today and both Jackie and Alexa were extremely helpful.   Highly recommend this place.

I saw my primary on Thursday for the same condition (at a health system considered the premier in the mid-Atlantic region). They did no tests and prescribed no remedy. Today (Saturday) came here. They sorted me out and scheduled future tests. So, they solved my issues.

Friendly Staff

Had been experiencing jaw pain for a few days and I knew I wouldn’t be able to see my dentist until at least Monday. I was hesitant to go urgent care on a Saturday, I assumed I’d be waiting forever and for jaw pain, they wouldn’t be able to do much. But actually, I reserved a spot online and they took me right away. The medical assistant and doctor were so nice, helped me as best as they could, and sent me home with a prescription that eased the pain tremendously the next day. I’d never been to this location before but I’m glad I made the trip and the next time I need to go to urgent care, I’ll be going here. Thank you everyone at AFC Piscataway !

The doctor was wonderful- very thorough and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the nurse’s bedside manner was much to be desired- abrupt and quick and just wasn’t pleasant.

I came in to receive a sports physical and this office offered great service throughout my whole experience there. I was able to call ahead of time and receive all the information I needed. The wait time was small and everyone was friendly, respectful and attentive to my needs.

There is a lack of good communication between the front desk and the doctor in charge of calling back patients. Even though this doctor told me she has a policy of returning calls at the end of the day, she wasn’t able to tell that to the front desk so they tell the patient. Unfortunately I wasted an appointment visit that she was not willing to not charge, but better yet, loosing a new customer. Is sad to see how greedy director she is.  The staff in general is ok. Nurses are nice and even apologetic about this situation. But as they say, this matter was above their capabilities. If k ever go back I’ll make sure I’ll never have to see this lady dr director.

I woke up this morning with a sore throat, I arrived and check in was super easy. Staff was friendly, I had to wait a little longer but it was much easier than making an appointment at my doctors office and having to wait days. This was quicker and easier, highly recommend!

- Verified patient on 1/27

Very fast. Was taken before my appointment time. Had my daughter with me so that was very nice of them. Covid test was simple and didn’t hurt.

- Verified patient on 1/21

My only complaint was the wait time- My appt was at 11 am-they told me to go to my car and wait till it was called. A phone call did not come in till 12:20. Then they told me to go around the back of the building to wait for my Covid test which I waited another 10 minutes for someone to come out. Once the test was taken I got the results saw the doctor and was done by 1 o’clock. But the actual wait time to see someone was almost an hour and 35 minutes.

- Verified patient on 4/27

Scheduled a Covid test and got an appointment for the same day. Arrived 10 minutes early and was seen and finished without a wait. Very pleased! Friendly staff!

- Verified patient on 4/29

Overall it was fine but I do have some concerns. After explaining that my child was around someone several days ago that ended up with a virus, I don’t understand why the physicians assistant would ask me why I brought my child in as if it was silly to. I also don’t really understand why a COVID test wasn’t done if I filled out the form ahead of time saying the rapid test would be fine.

Lab tests can be used to diagnose an illness, detect changes in an existing condition, and monitor how your body responds to a therapy, among other things. A lab worker may use a needle to draw blood from your arm or prick your finger to collect a small sample of blood during a blood test. During a urine test, your physician will ask you to go to the restroom and urinate in a sterile cup, then set your sample on a shelf where a lab technician can pick it up and process it. The personnel at the lab testing facility will demonstrate how to do each type of test.
