Everyone was wonderful from front desk, to X-ray tech, to physician. The care was great.  The only thing I didn’t understand was why you have no durable supplies , like ask arm sling, which for the cost of the visit, should have been included.  I would highly recommends Urgi Care to my family and friends.

This is the first place I actually liked everything was very clean people were friendly. Mostly loved how the nurses cleaned up and sanitizer before I entered the exam room. I really appreciated because it makes me feel safe and I know the person after will be safe as well! You guys are doing great! Keep up the good work! I know it isn't easy by how many people filled up the lobby In 10 minutes. Thanks again!

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who has been exposed to the virus should get tested for hepatitis. This includes individuals who have shared needles, had unprotected sex, or have been in close contact with someone who has the virus. Additionally, healthcare workers and those who have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis are also at risk. According to the CDC, those born between 1945 and 1965, often referred to as baby boomers, are five times more likely to have hepatitis C than other adults and should get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health problems if left untreated, including liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Early detection allows for prompt treatment, reducing the risk of complications and preventing the spread of the virus to others. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not have symptoms and do not know they are infected, making testing even more important.

Primary care providers

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those on a tight budget, free STD testing and community health centers can be a viable option. These centers often offer sliding scale fees based on income, making testing more accessible for everyone.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy or cannot make it to a clinic. These kits can be ordered online and delivered directly to your home. After collecting a sample, it is sent back to a lab for analysis and results are usually available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Burbank

While specific data for Burbank, IL is not readily available, Cook County, where Burbank is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the years. This trend is consistent with national data, which shows an increase in hepatitis cases across the country. According to the CDC, in 2016, there were an estimated 2.4 million people living with hepatitis C in the United States.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Burbank

Risk factors for hepatitis in Burbank are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include drug use, unprotected sex, and close contact with someone who has the virus. Additionally, certain occupations such as healthcare workers are at a higher risk due to potential exposure to the virus.

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Burbank. These STDs also have serious health implications if left untreated and should be tested for regularly. Like hepatitis, these STDs can be tested for at local urgent care centers, primary care providers, free STD testing and community health centers, and through at-home testing kits.
