Have been dealing with issues regarding an infected navel piercing and pushing back a doctors visit because I am always afraid of needing to go. Immediately greeted by such friendly and caring check-in staff. I have no insurance so they were able to help negotiate a price that worked for me. The nurse and doctor who saw me were so friendly and understanding of my fears and situation. They listened to everything I told them and offered me many solutions to my problems, even still understanding my lack of insurance and showing me where to find the cheapest options for prescriptions. All the staff made me feel cared for, as if they were friends of mine I’ve known for a long time. I was in and out in about an hour and am looking forward to my second visit. I would recommend this provider to everyone I know, especially anyone who is normally afraid of being in hospital settings or doctors.

The receptionist and PA that was there today (2/20/2019)were great and amazing! My only complaint was that the nurse on staff today was not so warm and welcoming let alone have 1 smile on her face . Other than her I was very happy with our visit today .

My 6 year old son ended up having Scarlett Fever.  We took him to his pediatrician in the morning and they did NOTHING. We were fortunate enough to get my 6 year old son and 10 year old daughter in.  The entire staff was INCREDIBLE! From the receptionist to the nurses to Dr. Anthony.  They ran strep tests, took his temperature, and gave him a couple of antibiotics.  My kids thought they were really nice!  Great staff, very professional, awesome bedside manner and the office was clean!   We are veru grateful and highly recommend!

Was suffering from severe low back pain.  Was able to schedule an appointment online right away.  Arrived to an empty waiting room and after filling out the paperwork was put right into an exam room.  Waited less than 10 minutes total.  Treatment was explained fully.  All in all a very quick and effective appointment and I’m feeling considerably better less than 24 hours later.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who believes they may have been exposed to hepatitis should get tested. This includes individuals who have engaged in unprotected sex, shared needles, or have come into contact with infected blood. Individuals who have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis, or those born to a mother with hepatitis should also consider testing. According to the CDC, Baby Boomers (born between 1945 and 1965) are also at a higher risk for hepatitis C and should get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health problems if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection allows for immediate treatment, potentially preventing these severe outcomes. Furthermore, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of the disease to others.

Prevalence of hepatitis in North Chicago

While specific data for North Chicago is not readily available, Lake County, where North Chicago is located, has seen a steady rate of hepatitis cases in recent years, according to the CDC. This rate is comparable to nearby counties such as Fulton and Williams. However, it's important to note that actual numbers may be higher as many people with hepatitis are unaware they are infected.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in North Chicago

Risk factors for hepatitis in North Chicago are similar to those nationwide. These include unprotected sex, drug use (particularly injection drugs), and being born to a mother with hepatitis. Certain demographics, such as Baby Boomers, are also at higher risk.

Other STDs in North Chicago

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are present in North Chicago. As with hepatitis, these diseases can be serious if left untreated but are manageable with early detection and treatment.
