Arrived at 10:40, just before the clinic got very busy. Next time I will begin the paperwork online, in advance, and arrive earlier. I got excellent care for lingering respiratory concerns, after having the flu. Even tho I had got this year's flu vax in September. I wish the people in the waiting area would wear masks. But hey, trumpo said it is all a hoax so here we go again.

I will definitely be going back to this location in the future and think the staff members deserve praise! The ma who checked me before the dr was also very kind and cheerful. Check in was easy and I appreciated them redoing my drs note to have the verbiage needed by my job.

Seen for respiratory issue- thorough work up by HE NP. She was very knowledgeable and attentive.  Told me to f/u with my pulmonologist if symptoms worsen and told me how to use the medication she sent to pharmacy.  Worth the 15 min drive and 10/10 care here.  Highly recommended urgent care.

I am always appreciative of the connivence this office offers.   Today I had a gentleman doctor and I thought although very upbeat and friendly, I was uncomfortable with the religious questions.  I personally believe there is a time and place, at this appointment was not it.  One, I didn’t feel well and the appointment should have stayed about that.  Two, he is  unaware of my circumstances and that was not the place.  I heard how he had converted, he asked me if I did, and it was very uncomfortable because again he had no idea of my circumstances A suggestion to possibly keep the appointment chatter on a lighter note. People coming in don’t feel well to begin with, any kind of heavy conversation may lead to some awkwardness (and it absolutely did).   Faith, and religion should be off the table for light conversation   Thank you.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who believes they may have been exposed to the hepatitis virus should get tested, particularly if they have engaged in high-risk behaviors such as unprotected sex, sharing needles, or having a blood transfusion before 1992. The CDC also recommends testing for individuals born between 1945 and 1965, as this age group has a higher incidence of hepatitis C.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it is often asymptomatic in its early stages, meaning you could be infected and not know it. Early detection allows for prompt treatment, reducing the risk of severe liver damage. According to the CDC, untreated hepatitis can lead to cirrhosis, liver cancer, and even death.

Hepatitis testing options in Malden, MA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care centers such as PhysicianOne Urgent Care in nearby Medford, MA, offer hepatitis testing. These facilities often have shorter wait times compared to traditional hospitals and you can book same-day or next-day appointments through Solv.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for hepatitis testing. They can provide a referral to a lab for testing and can help manage your care if you test positive.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing, making it accessible for those with lower incomes.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for those who prefer privacy. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Malden

While specific data for Malden is not readily available, Suffolk County, where Malden is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the past decade, mirroring national trends. This increase may be due to a variety of factors, including increased testing and awareness, as well as the ongoing opioid crisis.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Malden

Risk factors for hepatitis in Malden are likely similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles, having a blood transfusion before 1992, and being born between 1945 and 1965.

Other STDs in Malden

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also present in Malden. As with hepatitis, these diseases often have no symptoms in the early stages, making testing crucial for early detection and treatment.
