Lab testing
Felt feverish for the past week, I decided to go to the urgent care. All staff members were friendly and diligent to help me seek for a diagnosis. What I am not happy with is the turn around time to get lab results back since this is an integral part of the diagnosis and I cannot get someone to tell me specifically when the results will be back. I’ve been told it could take up to 3 days for just a white blood cell count, that is unacceptable.

Came in to the urgent care with an online appointment scheduled. I have been here several times. I have insurance, which was verified by the office, but the front desk girl said I was required to have a credit card on file but couldn’t tell me why. She did say it would be on file in your system for FIVE years. Not only does that seem to be a crazy ask with verified insurance, she could explain why the card was needed or why it would be on file for years. Makes me question things for sure…. The provider was great but first impression needs improvement.

I was able to choose a Quest lab location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. They were already aware that my labs were paid for prior to the appointment. I had my labs done on a Wednesday, and I received my results by Saturday. Great experience.

The young lady checking in patients on 9/8/21 was so sweet & helpful. Nurse practitioner Philip Olshinski was also extremely kind. Super nice and what you'd hope for with providers. The place is not fancy, but I was treated so nice. Thanks as I know you all are extra busy during these stressful times.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), anyone who has been exposed to the virus, has had sexual contact with someone who has hepatitis, or has shared needles, razors, or toothbrushes with an infected person should get tested. This also includes those who have traveled to countries with high hepatitis rates, have a liver disease, or are on kidney dialysis.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial for early detection and treatment. If left untreated, hepatitis can lead to serious health issues, including liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. It can also be transmitted to others unknowingly, contributing to the spread of the disease.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Burlington

According to the CDC, the prevalence of hepatitis in Burlington, NC, is comparable to the national average. However, it's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher due to underreporting and the fact that many people with hepatitis do not know they are infected.

Other STDs in Burlington

In addition to hepatitis, other common STDs in Burlington include gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis. These STDs also pose serious health risks and should be tested for if you are at risk.

Remember, it's important to get tested regularly if you are at risk for hepatitis or other STDs. Testing is the only way to know for sure if you are infected and to get the treatment you need. You can book same-day and next-day testing appointments at local urgent care centers and medical laboratories through Solv’s website and mobile app.
