The doctor was wonderful- very thorough and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the nurse’s bedside manner was much to be desired- abrupt and quick and just wasn’t pleasant.

The check in computer machines were too complicated for Senior Citizens and individuals who are not computer savvy.  We had to use several check in machines to check in. The receptionist had to use two machines before she could check us in. Staff was very nice.

Probably one of most cleanest urgent cares I’ve been in. Very easy to make an appointment, no wait time but expected to wait if I had to. The front office was very friendly and the staff in the back were just as nice. Dr. Patel was very attentive and listened to all my concerns. I highly recommend to go if you need to

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Hepatitis, a viral infection that causes liver inflammation, can be contracted through various means, including sexual contact. Therefore, anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested, particularly if they have multiple partners or do not consistently use protection. According to the CDC, individuals who use intravenous drugs, healthcare workers, and those traveling to regions with high rates of hepatitis should also be tested.

Importance of getting tested

Early detection of hepatitis is vital in preventing serious health complications such as liver disease and cancer. Testing enables early treatment, which can slow the disease's progression and prevent transmission to others. Moreover, knowing your hepatitis status can guide personal decisions related to lifestyle and sexual health, reducing the risk of contracting or spreading the virus.

Hepatitis testing options in Manville, NJ:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care centers like Carbon Health in Franklin Township, NJ, and NJ 365 Urgent Care in Kendall Park, NJ, offer hepatitis testing. These facilities provide same-day and next-day appointments, which can be booked through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another viable option for hepatitis testing. They can provide comprehensive care, including testing, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers in and around Manville offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing, making it accessible to those who may not have insurance or who are on a limited budget.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits, which can be ordered online, offer a convenient and private option for hepatitis testing. These kits include detailed instructions for collecting a sample, which is then sent to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Manville

While specific data on hepatitis prevalence in Manville is not readily available, Somerset County, where Manville is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the past few years, according to the CDC. This trend is in line with national data, which shows an upward trend in hepatitis infections.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Manville

Several factors contribute to the risk of hepatitis in Manville. These include unprotected sex, intravenous drug use, and lack of vaccination. The proximity to larger cities like Somerville and Somerset, which have higher hepatitis rates, may also contribute to the risk in Manville.

Other STDs in Manville

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Manville. The rates of these infections are similar to those in nearby counties like Hampshire County and Worcester County. Regular testing is crucial to prevent the spread of these diseases and to ensure prompt treatment if infected.
