Woke up that morning in severe pain in my back and upper rib cage.  I had been feeling that pain for about a week and during that week it got predominately worse.  The wait time was over two hours.  That was the worse thing about my visit.  Other than that the visit and doctor were very professional.  Yes, I would recommend this provider.

My visit at urgent care in Narberth was good. The doctor took time with me and explained everything to me. The young medical tech was excellent! He was efficient and friendly. This is my second time visiting the clinic and I would return.

They didn't ask when I first had symptoms and that would have determined the outcome of a covid test. They could have suggested I wait at least another day before returning there. As a result, I tested negative at AFC and positive two days later. As a result, my $55 copay was wasted.

I cut my leg badly a couple of days ago and needed help asap! I immediately thought of the closest Urgent Care on Valley Forge Rd. and Sumneytown Pike in Lansdale. I was a walk-in and there were a couple of sick children ahead of me so they immediately got me to a private room where I wouldn't be exposed to germs and cleaned my leg while I waited for the on-duty physician's assistant, Catherine Moran. She was attending to those ahead of me but came in to evaluate my injury and informed me that the wound would require stitches. When she finished with the others, she attended to me and did an outstanding job! Not only was the stitching painless but the quality of her handiwork was fabulous! She was calm and reassuring as were the nurse who performed the preliminary duties (blood pressure, information gathering, etc.) and staff. I was impressed with the competence of everyone involved and would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need! Thank you to all of the staff who helped me!

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who is sexually active, especially those with multiple partners, should consider getting tested for hepatitis. It's also crucial for individuals who have shared needles or other drug paraphernalia, those with a history of other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and those with chronic liver disease to get tested. According to the CDC, testing is also recommended for all pregnant women and anyone who has been in close contact with someone diagnosed with hepatitis.

Importance of getting tested

Hepatitis, if left untreated, can lead to serious health complications, including liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Early detection and treatment can prevent these complications and improve the quality of life. Getting tested also helps prevent the spread of the disease to others.

Hepatitis testing options in Chester, PA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics such as Carbon Health Urgent Care in Newtown Square, PA, provide hepatitis testing services. These clinics often offer same-day and next-day appointments, which can be booked through Solv's website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another viable option for hepatitis testing. They can provide a comprehensive evaluation and follow-up care if needed.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers in and around Chester, PA offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing. These centers are a crucial resource for individuals without insurance or those who cannot afford the cost of testing.

At-home testing

Prevalence of hepatitis in Chester

Chester, located in Gloucester County, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the past few years. This trend mirrors the national trend, with the CDC reporting a rise in hepatitis cases across the country. Comparatively, Chester's rates are higher than those in nearby counties such as Hampden County and Berkshire County.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Chester

Several risk factors contribute to the prevalence of hepatitis in Chester. These include a high rate of intravenous drug use, unprotected sex, and a lack of awareness about the disease and its transmission methods.

Other STDs in Chester

In addition to hepatitis, Chester has seen a rise in other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis. The increase in these STDs underscores the importance of regular testing, safe sex practices, and public awareness campaigns.
