I was on vacation visiting from colorado, when suddenly got a severe sore throat and body aches the day before I had to fly back home. Im 35 years old and was in so much pain I was crying (that’s how bad it was).  I was afraid to go in, because i didn’t have insurance coverage in Florida; but they only charged me $100 to be seen which is unheard of! Thank you Jesus! I also got an injection of “Toradol” for pain management to get some relief. It helped a LOT and lasted about 8 hours.I was in an out within 30 minutes. The Doctor knew right away that I had strep throat. I was able to pick up antibiotics right away! The only thing I wish they could have provided was 24 hours of pain relief besides Tylenol/motrin because I felt like death and wasn’t sure I could make it home on my flight in so much pain.. But, the inability to prescribe stronger pain meds for a day could be a rule in Florida where the doctors don’t have any control over … Anyway,  Staff was friendly. The front desk workers showed compassion. 10/10 reccomend. (I’m also an RN, and know good care when I see it)! I'm so thankful it was affordable

My husband had been in a few days earlier tested negative for Flu, Covid, and RSV but chest x-ray showed a little pneumonia. I started coughing Thursday night so I went straight in on Friday hoping to head it off at the pass but the doctor ran no test, said she didn’t hear wheezing even though I was and every the xray tech heard it. She gave me some cough pills and sent me on my way. I have continued to deteriorate now having sore throat and on and off spiking a low fever. Not impressed with the care I received. The PA my husband had was far more attentive. Update: The head doctor called me personally because he found this unacceptable and had me go back in for testing. I tested positive for Influenza A so I really appreciated his due diligence to get me answers so I have adjusted my overall score to reflect his efforts. Thank you Dr. Shital-Hiten Upadhyay.

My first time at Guidewell today made a lasting impression on me. From my phone conversation with receptionist, the ease at scheduling appt, the quick response time for that appt, I was already impressed. Wait time at the office was minimal; Katherine (ARNP) was so caring, gentle and kind. She listened to everything I told her, and made the decision for me to have X-RAYS taken. After having this procedure done, Katherine came back into the room and made some great recommendations for me to follow through with. I only wish I could make Guidewell my Primary Healthcare Provider! Marsha

Everything with regard to the appointment was great. I had a reaction to the rx so called the pharmacy and they suggested calling the Dr which I did. They had stated that the Dr would call me before calling in another rx. Did not receive any call. A follow up call is always a good practice.

Overview of STD Testing in Largo

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing, especially those with multiple partners or those who engage in unprotected sex. This is crucial as many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning they show no signs or symptoms. According to the CDC, certain groups are at a higher risk, including sexually active women under 25, men who have sex with men, and individuals with HIV.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a vital part of maintaining your overall health. If left untreated, STDs can lead to severe health complications such as infertility, cancer, and organ damage. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications and preventing the spread of STDs to others.

According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area are chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.
