Checking myself in through my phone and having to take and submit pictures of my license and insurance was a bit tedious. The wait was long but I was understanding of that, as it was a busy day. And Dr. Morgan is superb, I've used this clinic for many years just because of her. She is worth the wait. I felt heard and she well attended to my needs. The nursing staff and front desk were also extremely nice. I would definitely recommend this location to others. But next visit I will try to plan better for a less busy day.

I wasn’t expecting the new check in process but even with that. I was in and out with that process. I know what to expect and I think this way is better because you have less contact with germs 🦠 by checking in on line.

Overview of STD Testing in Birmingham

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, particularly if they engage in unprotected sex, have multiple partners, or are part of a demographic with high infection rates. According to the CDC, sexually active women under 25, men who have sex with men, and individuals with HIV are among those at higher risk. Regular testing is essential for these groups, as many STDs can be asymptomatic but still pose serious health risks if left untreated.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial in maintaining both your own health and the health of others. Early detection can prevent many STDs from causing long-term health problems such as infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Furthermore, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of these diseases, as many can be transmitted even when symptoms are not present.
