I had occasion to see Dr. Amy Parker twice in the last couple of weeks, and have nothing but good things to say. She was thorough, sent me for the correct tests to make a diagnosis, referred me to an excellent specialist and made follow up calls to see how I was doing. The whole staff was professional and attentive.

We are from suburban Philadelphia and were visiting our son and his family when my husband’s “cold” became markedly worse. The nurse Megan and the Nurse Practitioner Donna were wonderful to us. They quickly assessed my husband’s conditon, had a chest xray done, and prescribed the appropriate medicine and care for what turned out to be pneumonia. The entire visit to this facility was favorable, from the ease of check-in to the friendliness of the xray tech. Although no one likes being sick “on vacation”, this was a good experience for us.

Overview of STD Testing in Westbrook

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially those between the ages of 15 and 25, as they account for half of all new STD cases each year according to the CDC. It's also important for pregnant women, men who have sex with men, and those with multiple or new partners to get tested. In Westbrook, ME, and nearby cities like Gorham and Portland, testing is readily available and can be booked easily through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good health. Many STDs are asymptomatic, meaning they don't show any signs or symptoms. If left untreated, they can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Furthermore, getting tested helps prevent the spread of STDs to others. In Cumberland County, where Westbrook is located, regular testing can contribute to the overall health of the community.
