I have never had anything but good experiences here at Mercy. This one time, this last time I wish I was listened to a little more in my request for antibiotics to nip what I had brewing. I do understand antibiotics are not needed in every situation, I also know my body. I was seen on Weds. On Thursday with no where to turn is suffered through spells of not being able to breath, coughing nonstop, painful lungs. Friday I had to seek an urgent care in Wake Forest: antibiotics, steroids (injectable, oral and inhaler), nebulizer treatment. Even though it probably could have been avoided (but whose to say, maybe not) I will certainly be back to Mercy, I know they only had my best interest in mind. I absolutely refuse hospitals, and you will never find me at the black mountain urgent care. I do have a primary care provider but sometimes they just do not have the time and resources. You guys are awesome!

I came in with what I thought was a UTI. I had already filled out my forms on line so when I arrived all that was necessary was to prove my identity and insurance info. It was a very easy and straightforward process. The woman at the front desk was very nice. I next met Celina who took me back for vitals and a urine test. Again, very nice and capable. Finally I met Katie who performed the test and rendered the results. She was just great, very knowledgeable. The whole experience was A+ and I was in and out in about 45 minutes. I would definitely recommend Mercy Urgent Care.

The reason for me coming to urgent care was due to a spider bite that was beginning to bother and concern me. Check in was quite efficient and the forms that I needed to fill out were short and simple to deal with. My wait time before being seen there's only a few minutes and I found the staff to be friendly efficient and quite courteous. Once I had been taking back I was not left alone for very long at any point and I found the staff quite attentive and direct to the point. My exam was done with attention to detail and took into consideration the pain I was in. They had no problem with working with my Pharmacy and giving me a prescription to resolve my issue. I believe my total visit was only a little more than 30 minutes. In case of need I would definitely return. I would certainly recommend this Urgent Care for anyone in need of quality attention

The nurse practitioner who saw me had also seen me on a prior medical issue. And, just like that one, she got this one right. I was starting to feel better after just a few hours of taking the prescribed antibiotics and taking a long nap. Woke up this morning feeling a ton better.

Overview of STD Testing in Hendersonville

Who should get tested for STDs?

Everyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), especially those with multiple sexual partners or those who engage in unprotected sex. The CDC recommends that all adults and adolescents from ages 13 to 64 should be tested at least once for HIV. Specific guidelines for other STDs vary, but annual testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia is recommended for all sexually active women younger than 25 years, as well as older women with risk factors such as new or multiple sex partners.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for maintaining good health. Many STDs do not show symptoms, meaning you could be infected without knowing it. Left untreated, these infections can lead to severe health problems such as infertility, cancer, and organ damage. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, preventing these complications and helping to stop the spread of STDs.

They often offer same-day appointments and extended hours, making it easy to get tested even with a busy schedule. Carolina Health Urgent Care in nearby Greenville, SC, and AFC Urgent Care in Arden, NC, are highly rated options that offer STD testing. Both of these locations can be booked for same-day and next-day testing appointments through Solv's website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

At-home testing

At-home testing is another option for STD testing in Hendersonville. These tests can be ordered online, completed at home, and sent back to a lab for analysis. This option offers privacy and convenience, but it's important to choose a reputable company to ensure accurate results.

According to the CDC, the prevalence of STDs in Henderson County, where Hendersonville is located, is lower than the national average but on par with nearby counties such as Madison County and Raleigh County. However, the rates of chlamydia and gonorrhea have been slowly increasing over the past few years, highlighting the importance of regular testing.

Risk factors related to STDs in Hendersonville
