Was thankful that I could get in on Thanksgiving. Entire team was friendly and even though I was the last patient of the day. I didn't feel rushed. I am new to the area and asked for prescription to go through Kroger and found out that Kroger pharmacy wasn't open at all other holiday. Couldn't get my prescription until the next day.

Overview of STD Testing in Fairborn

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or engage in unprotected sex. This includes both men and women, as well as individuals of all ages, although those between the ages of 15 and 24 account for half of all new STD infections, according to the CDC. It's also crucial for pregnant women to get tested as STDs can have severe implications for both the mother and the baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is an essential part of maintaining your overall health. Many STDs do not exhibit symptoms in the early stages, making regular testing the only way to detect them. Early detection can prevent the spread of the disease to partners and allows for prompt treatment, reducing the risk of long-term health complications. According to the CDC, untreated STDs can lead to serious health issues like infertility, cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV.

According to the CDC, the most common STDs in the area include chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. The rates in Greene County are slightly lower than those in nearby Washington and Beaver Counties, but higher than Bullitt, Madison, and Raleigh Counties.

Risk factors related to STDs in Fairborn

Several factors contribute to the prevalence of STDs in Fairborn. These include a lack of regular testing, unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and substance abuse. Additionally, social and economic factors such as poverty, limited access to healthcare, and lack of sexual health education can also increase the risk of STDs in the community.
