The doctor needed peroxide but they couldn't find literally any in the clinic. She had to tell me to go home and wash the wound with peroxide myself. The staff was lovely. It was just the clinic itself was lacking resources and I ultimately could have just done the whole visit at my home with basic first aid supplies.

Overview of STD Testing in Norristown

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), regardless of their age, gender, or sexual orientation. This is particularly important for those who have multiple sexual partners, engage in unprotected sex, or have a partner who has tested positive for an STD. It's also crucial for pregnant women to get tested, as untreated STDs can have serious health implications for both the mother and the baby.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a vital part of maintaining your overall health. Many STDs do not show symptoms in the early stages, making it possible to unknowingly spread the disease to sexual partners. Early detection through testing allows for prompt treatment, which can prevent serious health complications. Moreover, knowing your STD status can help you make informed decisions about your sexual health and help you protect your partner(s).
